California Pottery: From Missions to Modernism
is an exhibition of commercially produced ceramic tableware and
home accessories made in California during the first half of the
twentieth century. These everyday objects feature both abstract
designs and narrative representations of the state's culture.
Drawn exclusively from California collections, the approximately
180 pieces in the exhibition were produced by potteries throughout
the state.
Exhibition companion book available from Chronicle
Books at http://www.chronbooks.com.
