I promised you a story, here it is.
My mom brings me home from college one fine Friday. My dad has a friend over. My dad and the friend go to leave, my mom going with them. As they walk out the door, my dad asks me to put up a pot of coffee. I say okay and being the good daughter that I am, I put up a pot of coffee. When my dad returns, he rings the doorbell. I open the door.
He asks me, "Did you put up the coffee?"
I nod and say I did. He then gives me a set of keys and I hear him say, "For a reward, you can move my car."
Okay, well and good. I say, "Okay, thanks." and go into my room to get my glasses.
As I walk to my room, I look at the keys. They aren't my dad's car keys. They're a strange set of keys. I go back out and my dad is standing in the doorway. My mom comes up behind him.
She says, "What did she say?"
My dad replies in confusion, "I told her she got a new car, and she just said 'Okay, thanks' and walked away."
