Peckwater Quad is the Quad that I personally lived in. This door on the left is the door that I entered to get to the stairs. That is not graffiti on the wall. What that is, is during the regular school year, Christ Church competes in games against other Oxford Universities. The winner of those go on to fight against Cambridge. Those marks are the sign of Christ Church and last years winnings.
To the right is the sight I saw every day when exitting the stairwell. Across from my area, Peckwater 1, was Peckwater 6, 7 and 8. 9 was actually next to 1 and at the start of the Quad. Just to confuse us, we were told. Peckwater Quad isn't as beautiful as the Great Quad, it's lacking the fountain, after all, but it's beautiful in its own way anyway. Peckwater Quad was built in the 18th Century, one of the earlier parts of the University.
