![]() Slipping Away ![]() Aneid and Rocar in one movement wove Earth, the cave entrance started to collapse. The cave crumbled lightly
and just enough for the entrance to be covered, separating the party from the Shadow. Aneid released the Source
and Rocar looked to him as if he had lost his mind. “That will not hold them for long, Asha’man” Rocar had stopped channeling long enough to say that. “I am counting on that”, The tense stance from the Warder, Janira prompted Aneid to continue. “The
DarkHounds will not die, but I have a way to get them out of our hair for a very long time.” Aneid smiled an
almost smile. He looked to the other people, Gangorn and Chiya, Aemon and Serian, Rocar and Janira, and
Dar’tagni. “Chiya will you please tell allow me to Link with you?” Chiya regarded the Asha’man, then she looked to the Warder whom she had just healed. The slight nod was all
that was needed. Seizing Saidin he opened himself to Chiya’s Link. Aneid wove two points in the pattern, the
large vertical line slashed then rotated into a huge doorway into reality. The entire group regarded the Gate for a
moment. Aneid released the link and watched as Dar’tagni jumped through the Gate. The other side of the gate
was a basement of sorts, the disheveled mess and dark room was large and had one door to the far end. Aneid was able to quell a shiver, he walked past the entire group and opened the door, and he peered down the
hallway and nodded. The large gapping door in reality still stood wide open. Gesturing for the group Aneid started
down the hallway, the soft sound of boots followed behind him. “Leave the door open”, Aneid said to Serian who
pulled up the rear. “Is that ….. Gate going to close, Asha’man?” The voice of Serian brought the smile. “It will close soon”, Aneid went up the stairs and through the empty halls of the wonderful estate. “The Gate will
not close before the DarkHounds get through.” Aneid stopped in the center of the hallway. “Where is this place, Aneid?” Chiya asked as she studied the empty place. The rest of the group looked to be as
curious, as they looked to him for answers. The windows showed all the dark evening skis and salty taste that
lingered in the air. “We are in Seanchan”, Aneid scowled visibly. “I have been here before, and it will server our purposes. The
Myddraal will not follow through the Gate, and neither will the trollocs. But the DarkHounds are on the hunt, and
can’t stop. We will move for some time then I will get us home. They must hold our scent long enough for the
degrading weave that holds the Gate open will take effect and shut the Gate.” Aneid moved down the hall and to
the outside door. The group moved through the wide road and to the jungle. It was some time before the group heard the shrill howl of the DarkHounds. Aneid stopped and Seized Saidin,
“We leave now.” Aneid bored a hole from point to point, it was difficult for he had only a small idea of where he
was. The Gate slipped from him, again and again. He concentrated on his knowledge of where he was. The
Howling grew closer and closer, shadowy figures moved just out of sight and the Gate kept slipping from him. “Now would be a good time Asha’man.” The level voice of the Warder Janira was a stark contrast to her stance.
Left foot forward and sword held high, ready for action. Aneid held his concentration all the while holding for the Point in the pattern that eluded him. The Growls from the
Dark Beasts made him find his way though his weary memories. Think Aneid, I must get this gateway together
The thought slipped off of the void. The Points clicked in the pattern and the boring process started. The
DarkHounds sensing the kill started to charge. The vertical line rotated and twisted to form a door. The group
assembled and ran through the open Gate. Dar’tagni waiting to be the last, Aneid stepped through and finally the
Far Dareis Mai. Aneid snapped the gate shut, just as the Hounds jumped for the gate. Turning into the sun drenched hill Aneid
almost smiled. He walked to the top of the hill where the party stood gazing down at the buildings. Two huge flags
marked the fortress type keep that stood at the forefront. One was the Sinuous shape of the mythical Dragon, and
the other was of the Ancient symbol of Aes Sedai. Aneid started down the hill in an easy manner, “Welcome to the Black Tower”
