"Down to Earth"

The future Superman rescues Arsenal from the Rocket Red suit, rescues Metropolis from aforementioned suit, and tries to rescue the world from the Hourman virus (with the help of Lois Lane and Lex Luthor).

I don't have much to say about this story, so I think I'll keep it brief.

This was a pretty average story.  I'm not terribly familiar with Abnett or Lanning, so I don't know if this type of story is average for them, or if they specialize in better things.  Whatever the case, this wasn't much.  If you like the future Superman, or you absolutely need everything DC ONE MIL you should probably buy it, but otherwise I'd stay away from it.

The characterization given to the future Supes was interesting, as I enjoyed discovering what powers he had (even as he was losing them . . .).  He seems quite similar to the pre-Crisis Superman.  His relationships with Lois Lane and Lex Luthor were also mildly interesting here.

I didn't like Luthor as a raving paranoid lunatic much, though.  I like him far better as a competent, scheming threat.

Norn Breyfogle's art is nice, but it's been way better, particularly when he inks himself.  Koblish's inks seemed to dullen Breyfogle's otherwise crisp linework.

Overall, not really recommended.  A decent story, but nothing at all special.
