It's become extremely obvious that Ellis hates most of the StormWatch characters with a passion.  In the last seven issues (including #10), Winter, Fahrenheit; Hellstrike, Fuji, and Flint have only appeared in about enough scenes to fill *one* normal issue.  Still, the Weatherman is such a great character (even if Jackson isn't *quite* as interesting as Henry Bendix was) that Ellis can almost make you overlook that . . .  Almost.

After watching the parallel Earth (through the "Bleed") survive an alien invasion by the Khera; "our" StormWatch argues about what was (or, rather, wasn't) done to help the other Earth, while SkyWatch attempts to destroy a mysterious asteroid.

In an issue with as much "downtime" as this one has, we ought to see the team more than *one* page (excluding Winter's four-page skirmish with Battalion).  Instead we're treated to an issue full of a paranoid, angsting Jackson King and some rather bland, tension-less pages leading into the upcoming WildCATS/Aliens cross-over.  Bo-ring.

This probably isn't helped by Mike Ryan's utterly worthless art.  Oh, it's *okay*."  Nothing too horrendous . . . but when set next to Hitch's gorgeous art, it looks putrid.  For the last *three* issues, Ryan has done the bulk of the art, while Hitch has done only a few pages.  What gives ?!  How slow *is* Hitch ?!

StormWatch is a book that I have long loved.  But it's clear from this issue that Ellis has *zero* love left for SW.  And me ?  My love is decreasing, too.  I'd much rather read Volume One, where Ellis seemed to be having a blast. Besides, Volume One has Henry Bendix, one of the coolest villains of the '90s. ;)

I'm glad that SW is ending, because I'd hate to have to consider dropping it.
