Using skills

Each skill a character has will have a skill level assigned to it. Each skill can be increased by up to 2 points per character level. The higher the number, the better at that skill the character is. Skills modify the various dice rolls made in the game.

Combat skills. The use of combat skills is covered under the combat section of this page.

Characters choose a general category of combat skill to train in such as "swords". They apply skill points to this category to raise it. Characters get to pick one weapon in that category that just seems more natural or more practiced with and get to use that weapon at three skill points higher level than the general skill category.

Many of the skills are used in conjuntion with a skill roll. A skill roll will have a target number which must be attained for the attempt to be successful. 2d10 are rolled and added to the skill level. If the score is equal to or greater than the target number, the character has succeeded.
