like the name Alanna. He saw the name Alanis in a Greek newspaper
one day and it stuck

recently sold her house.

(Q) What are "Alanis" and "Now is the Time" ?
(A) Before making "Jagged Little Pill", Alanis recorded
2 albums of primarily dance pop for MCA Canada Records.
"Alanis" sold over 100,000 copies in Canada and earned her
a Juno Award as Most Promising Female Artist. "Now Is the Time"
sold over 50,000 copies.

(A) Apparently Tower Records in NYC has them in stock.
Try an outlet in your locale which carries a large

    "JAGGED LITTLE PILL" QUESTIONS

(Q) What is the 'hidden' track ?
(A) An acapella song titled "Your House", which appears after
the second, unlisted YOK at the end of the album.

(Q) Who wrote the songs ?
(A) Glen Ballard and Alanis co-wrote the music and Alanis wrote all
the lyrics.

(Q) Who produced the album ?
(A) Glen Ballard

(Q) Who played on the album ?
(A) Alanis plays harmonica on AIRW and HIMP.
Glen Ballard plays various instruments on many of the tracks.Flea and David Navarro of "The Red Hot Chili Peppers" play bass and guitar respectively on YOK. Various LA studio
musicians are also featured on many of the tracks.

(Q) Which songs feature live drums and who plays?
(A) AIRW, YOK, Perfect, Right Through You, Forgiven,
MJ, Ironic and Wake Up.

Matt Laug plays on all of these except "Perfect" and "Ironic"

(Q) How well has JLP done ?
(A) JLP peaked at #1 in the US and sold about 5 million copies worldwide
and has charted Canada, Great Britain, & Germany as well as other
countries.

(Q) How well have the singles off JLP done?
(A) The European singles have done quite well. In the US only Ironic
has been released officially but has done well nevertheless.

(Q) In the song All I Really Want...who is Estella ?
(A) Estella is a reference to the character of the same name in Charles
Dickens' novel, Great Expectations. She uses men and then dumps them,
This is where the "reel it in in then spit it out" line comes from.

(Q) In the song Not the Doctor...what is the"empty bottle" ?
(A) No one knows.
