(To mortal eyes the papers appear as flyers with a recipe for chocolate chip
cookies that is rumored to be Neiman-Marcus's secret recipe. It was billed
to an unsuspecting woman who asked for it for $250. She is now distributing
it to everyone she knows to get back at the store for not telling her the
exorbitant fee (she thought "two fifty" meant $2.50) until it was too late.)

ALLEGED MURDER BLAMED ON REDCAP REPRESENTATIVE
INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY
by
Abigail Teller (CP), Chief Editor
_______________________
An investigation is underway regarding the alleged murder of a citizen of
Firnost. The victim, a Redcap known as Stumpy, was allegedly poisoned while
inside the walls of the Freehold itself.
There has been no official comment from Parliament as yet, but the victim's
mate, Rina Kismet-Castle, maintains that Stumpy was murdered because he
didn't support the newly elected Redcap Representative, Grendel. Neither
Grendel nor Rina were available for comment at this time.
This is not the first time that Grendel has been implicated in criminal
activity in the Freehold. As many recall, the Redcap Representative has
been disciplined regarding cases of harassment and sexual assault during the
past few months.
Several citizens have called for him to remove himself from the
investigation due to his implication in the crime, but as yet there has been
no official comment regarding this issue.
The Herald will be following this story as it progresses.
REPS TALK ABOUT UPCOMING TERM
by
Abigail Teller (CP), Chief Editor
_______________________
It's been less than a week since the Parliamentary elections, and as new
issues crop up and old issues continue to press, the new Representatives
have their work cut out for them. A few of the Representatives had time to
speak of their plans for the upcoming term.
"It feels good knowing my Kith has this much Faith in me." Says Ralph
Forgerock, the newly elected Troll Representative when he found out that
he'd won. He doesn't plan to make too many waves during his time on
Parliament, and only wishes, "see the 'Hold safely though this term."
He expressed a wish to address the issue of the "blanket banishment" policy,
and hopes to see it change to see that the punishment fits the crime. Other
than that, he hopes, "to be the voice of sanity that [his] predecessor was."
Forgerock does not foresee any conflicts between himself and the other
Representatives, and hopes that the conflicts, should they arise, will be
few.
Lady Ellowyn Morlyn ap Eiluned, the new Sidhe Representative, said that she
was "shocked" to be elected, but hopes to pull her Kith together and get
them to work for their issues. She expressed that it would be difficult to
keep her own opinions on the pressing business from overshadowing her Kith,
but said, "I am allowed to argue with them until I am blue in the face, but
when the chips come down it's the majority opinion that I [will abide]."
The prominent issue that concerns her is the weapons peacetie/ban on the
citizens of Firnost. "I'd like to see a stricter no weapons policy
enforced," said Morlyn but also said that she would defer to the decisions
of her Kith regarding this issue and others.
At the time of the interviews, the other Representatives were not available
for comment.
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR:
Citzens of Firnost, I come to you with a warning. For a very long time, we
have put an oppressive yoke on other members of the Dreaming. One of these
races of the Gallain has contacted me, due to my stunning charm, striking
good looks, and contacts among their kind (not to mention Canadian [read:
superior] heritage). I've been made privy to a certain bit of information.
This group has had a long time in the shadows, and even the most vocal
members of this group are only seen as a minor annoyance and ignored. The
time to ignore them has passed. If their lust for power is not sated, at
least a little, then these fine folk will rise against us in a massacre
bloodier than the entirty of the Accordance War.
I am speaking, of course, of our friends, the voile.
The voile are a group, no, a people who deserve representation on Firnost's
Parliament. They have the same rights as any other citizen of the Dreaming,
and I believe that we know the voile sometimes better than we know
ourselves. While it is true that their ways may be different, and while it
may also be true that they are "but clothes" I ask you all (with the
exception of the satyrs) one question: would you be willing to stride around
naked as a jaybird for the rest of your life?
I didn't think so.
By now, I suppose that you're all wondering what's to be done by us, the
people of Firnost. I'll tell you. When the rising of the voile occurs, we
will show ourselves to be voile-friendly by appointing a voile rep, to be
elected by all of the voile of Firnost.
So I say unto you, gentle reader, pressure the reps to create a seat for the
voile. It may be our only chance in the months to come.
A Warning
