Professional Profile

Richard Dean Anderson is internationally known for his title role in the popular television series "MacGyver," which ran for seven successful seasons on ABC and now airs in syndication worldwide. In 1994, he recreated the role in two "MacGyver" telefilms for ABC, which he executive produced with partner Michael Greenberg for their production company, Gekko Film Corp. MGM is currently producing STARGATE SG-1 in association with Glassner/Wright Double Secret Productions and Gekko.

During this period Anderson performed in live theater as well, including a leading role in "Superman in the Bones" at the Pilgrimage Theater. Anderson finally got his acting break in 1976 when he landed the role of Dr. Jeff Webber on the daytime soap General Hospital. After five years in that role, Anderson moved on to prime-time dramas. Favourite Episodes:

I am a little torn on this one, because my favorite one to do as an actor was Brief Candle, when I got to age to 100 years old, and went through all the stages of makeup, etc. The episode itself was never fully realized in my opinion, because we had mistimed it, and basically it got edited down to the point where a lot of that process was not seen.
