Moonlight Plains"I'd like to know more about Nixphe houses and coalitions," you decide. Silvanon nods, and begins to explain. You've already heard a bit about the Nixphe's symbols. They determine a Nixphe's house and color. A Nixphe's house determines it's coalition. When a Nixpeh is born, it's has a symbol like a circle with a dot in the middle. This symbol codes for the House of Nun, and the Nixphe is completely grey in color. A Nixphe belongs to the House of Nun only once in it's life, when it's born. When the Nixphe morphs, its symbol will change, and a House symbol will appear. At this point the Nixphe will take on the color associated with its new house: red, blue, yellow, purple, orange, green, black or white. The Houses are divided into two Coalitions, it's like this: The Times Coalition includes these Houses:
The Seasons Coalition includes:
In the process of morphing, a Nixphe may change house and even coalition. How often this happens depends in large part on the number of symbols the Nixphe has. All Nixphe start with just one symbol. When it starts to morph, however, there are two possiblities: It may either have one symbol, or three symbols. There are rules that determine whether a Nixphe receives one or three symbols, but those are up to you to discover. If a Nixphe has only one symbol, it will probably change houses with every morph. A Nixphe with three symbols will only change houses after a flame. (A Nixphe will ALWAYS change houses after flaming.) So, what happens if you've got a Nixphe stuck in a house that you don't like, and it never seems to flame? Or maybe it's not getting along with the others, or is feeling a journeying itch, or well, whatever. What can you do? It's time to consider the Waiting Pool. You can trade your Nixphe into the Waiting Pool. It stays there, enjoying the Homeland, until someone else decides to adopt it. Don't worry, this doesn't tramatize the Nixphe, or even hurt their feelings. They all seem to share a sense of adventure when it comes to changes. And, if you had your limit of four Nixphe already, this will free up a spot in your herd to adopt another. Trading into the Waiting Pool doesn't take up a Turn in the Nixphe Game, so you can trade in and try to adopt again all in the same round.
