the lands of Earth were covered with mythical creatures that only the mind can dream of. Some of these creatures were viscous beasts and others were gentle and kind.
Of all the creatures, no other kind were feared more then the dragons.
Dragons came in every size, shape and colour. They were winged fiends, with massive talons that soared through the skies and walked the land, swam the seas. These dragons could live any where, from the freezing arctic snow dragons, to the fire breathing lava dragons.
These dragons ran a muck throughout the lands, they could be wise and forgiving, or vengeful and untrusting. No matter what kind they were, they were unpredictable and nothing could rule them, this is the story of two dragons destined to rise above, to rule all the land and all the creatures upon it. Two dragons that were fated to be together for all eternity.
Silver Talon was known throughout the land as a killer, as a rouge dragon that took to no rules but his own into play. Talon was a stuborn dragon, he only wished to believe what he
wanted to, and didn't trust any others. He was feared and never messed with. If he wanted something, he would take it with no questions asked. He had never felt love for another being before, for he was too busy plundering the land and decieded a long time ago that love was worthless. The only love he felt was the love for destruction and greed. However, fate would soon change this.
Eternal Eclipse was a ruler. She had a leader's heart and the courage to get what she wanted in her life. She feared no one, she feared nothing. Her outlook on life itself was to
rule all that she could take and to take it all. If her eyes fell upon something and she liked, she took it. She made herself known as a leader and had many followers, those who didn't follow her, died by her own hand. She had great outlooks for her life, but she had no idea what was in store for her.
Silver Talon was flying in an unknown land. This was unusual, he was a great travaller and had been most everywhere.
This unfamiliarity put a bit of unease into his mind, but just simply becuse he was use to knowing everything. All he had heard about it was that it was owned by a female dragon, who hated trespassers and killed them on sight. This did not scare him one bit though, he had never been defeated, and wasn't going to start now.
Eternal Eclipse growled in annoyance as she spotted the trespassing dragon that she had been told about. He was flying over her head, through the clouds but landed at a nearby lake. She advanced on him, snarling angrily.
Silver Talon looked up to see the dragon coming towards him, he looked her over carefully. He was shocked by her beauty. This wasn't something he normally noticed about another dragon. He would usually first spot out places to attack and weak spots... but this was different. She was greenish black
with fiery red eyes that seemed to burn right through him. She was large and muscular, unlike any female he had seen before. Silver Talon froze, not really knowing if he should take the attack, but a calm came over him, his mind was fuzzy and he stood there unmoving.
As Eternal Eclipse drew closer to this dragon, she was struck by his appearance.
He was white, with hints of silver over his body. His striking light blue eyes were locked with hers. He was a massive dragon and was standing proud. As she got closer, she realized who he was.
Eternal Eclipse slowed her pace and came to a stand still in front of him. They looked each other over and then locked eyes again.
"Ah, Silver Talon," Eternal Eclipse stated. "To what do I owe this honour?"
He was slightly shocked that she knew he was but it faded, of course, everyone knew him. He gulped, there was somethind different about this dragon, something he had never felt before. He gathered together his wits, and said with a controlling voice, "Just passing through M'Lady, you must be Eternal Eclipse, ruler of this land and all that lives on it."
"Please, call me Eternal," she told him. "At least you have heard of me."
Silver Talon laughed. He was easily ammused. "Of course I have. You are known throughout the land, the only dragon besides me with such a fiery heart to rule. The same heart that makes you a stern ruler." He wasn't in the business of compliments, but that seemed necessary. For once, he wasn't interested in killing.
She smiled lightly, relaxing herself. "I will rule everything the eye can see, one day."
"That is a big statement and a high goal." Silver Talon replied. "Can you really believe that you alone can do such a great feat?"
Eternal Eclipse shook her head in pity towards him. "You are a fool to doubt me Silver Talon, I always get what I want, and I want this world."
He shrugged and then looked her over and laughed. "Well you can have whatever is left, after I destroy it." He began to feel more comfortable.
Eternal Eclipse stretched out and dragged her claws across the stone under her. She arched her head back and yawned, then laid down. She paused a moment before she said, "Oh I will rule this planet, long before you even get started Silver Talon, you will be kissing my feet in no time."
He watched as her eyes closed, relaxed and bathing in the warm summer sun. Silver Talon looked towards the lake and then back at her. The instinct to kill made him think that now she was vulnerable - and if he was going to attack, now would be the time.
However he pushed that thought aside, and wondered how he could think such a thing when he has never felt this way before. In all of his journey's, never had to meet someone like her, someone with the same confidence as him, someone after his own heart.
As Silver Talon began to laugh, Eternal Eclipse looked up.
"What is so funny?" she asked.
"Wouldn't it be funny if you and I ruled this world together, no creature alive would stand a chance against us!" he remarked.
Eternal Eclipse narrowed her eyes at him. She stood and turned, but as she went to take off, she told him, "No one will stand against just me, nice meeting you Silver Talon. Next time we meet up, let it be the day I rule."
Silver Talon watched as she took to the skies. The feelings he was feeling before went away, and his natural instincts came to him.
The instincts he had always survived on. It was then he decided that he would take control of the creatures of earth long before her, it was now his mission in life.
The years went by and both Eternal Eclipse and Silver Talon stride for their goals. Each passing year, they both conquered more land and gathered more followers. As less and less free land disappeared, talk of what would happen when Silver and Eternal had to face, who would win. That was the day everything changed.
Eternal Eclipse would have liked to believe that she was a fair ruler but that was far from the truth. She was stern and viscous. She tortured and killed for no reason at all. Her follows dared not to get in her way or try to over throw her. She was discouraged the day she found out that Silver Talon was after what she had been since she had been born but decided that she would not worry about it until the day came when she had to face him, it was looking like today would be that day.
Though Silver Talon was a stern Lord, he was fair and gave justice, for this his followers adored him and worshipped him as a God.
He would kill those that did not without thought, he did not need rioting or traitors on his lands, he was feared for this, no one dared to betray him. As he got word that they were approaching Eternal Eclipse's land, for the first time, he felt fear. This was new to him, he wasn't use to feeling fear. But he had peered into her, and knew what she was capable of. He respected this and saw her as a worthy opponant.
Eternal Eclipse stood at the edge of her land, she could see in the distance Silver Talon approaching with his army. She stood tall and walked forward, leaving her army behind, before this was to start she wanted to hear what Silver Talon had to say to her.
Silver Talon noticed her walking alone towards him and did the same. He waved back to his army and went alone. As she came into view, he smiled to himself as he saw that she was still as beautiful as he remembered.
But on the same token, she was still the deadly beast he had heard so much about.
"Good to see you again Eternal," Silver Talon called to her as she drew closer, trying not to sound too hostile.
"Is that so," she replied. "Seems that we could have met on better terms."
He snickered and replied, "You said that the next time you wanted to see me was when you ruled, this is close enough, don't you agree?"
Eternal Eclipse fanned out her black wing and then rested them against her back. She forced a smile. "No, it's not close enough. You had a lot of nerve to go after my goal and now you are the only thing that stands in my way."
Silver Talon looked her over, checked her face for any signs but found none. He frowned and said, "And what are you saying then, that you are going to have to destroy me?" Those feelings he felt before were starting to come back. He tried to push them away but to no avail. Then again, maybe he also wanted those emotions.
As she heard those words, she felt the disturbance within her, as if she didn't want to.
"Yes, you are in my way and will have to be removed with you don't want to go nicely and just give me your land."
He shook his head. "That is not going to happen, but you are also in my way, would you like to give up all that you have to save your life?" Can I really kill this dragon, he thought to himself. He knew the answer to that, and it was no.
"You know I will not," Eternal Eclipse responded.
"Then you and I fight," Silver Talon exclaimed feeling the sadness. "Just you and I, to the death." There was no way he could really do that.
Eternal Eclipse's stomach tightened and she let out a sigh that she hadn't meant to.
"Do you have a better suggestion?" he asked, hearing the sigh and seeing the worried look on her face, realizing that she didn't want to kill him either.
Her head fell to the ground, her body frozen. There was really nothing else for them to do, he was in her way and she was in his. Eternal Eclipse knew she couldn't kill him though, this dragon was like her, after the same things, she respected him more then any other dragon. She could never look at another dragon and think that they were anything but just another dragon that she could rule over, that she was more superior to, but this was not the way with Silver Talon. He was like her other half and she respected him for that.
"Eternal?" Silver Talon called.
She looked up at him. "I, I can't kill you, I could never harm you. I have never met anyone like you before."
Silver Talon swallowed hard. "What then? What do you suggest?" he looked away from her and back to his army.
"They are ready to strike the second I give them the command but I knew long before this time, that I would never be able to give them that command. I know what I want in life, I want the world, but," Silver Talon looked eyes with her. "I also want you. From the second I met you I knew that you were the only one for me. We are two of a kind you and I and just imagine, with our power, what we can do if we team up."
The words he had just spoken almost frightend him. But at the same time, he meant every word. Eternal was like no other. No other in many ways, but mostly in the way that she was his first love. He now knew he wanted these feelings, and liked it. For once in his life, he was feeling something besides hatrid or greed. He thoguht how foolish it was not to love.
Eternal Eclipse felt panic run through her. This was all happening too fast for her. She took a step back and tensed up. He was asking her to be with him, for forever and she wasn't sure what she wanted from him but it was intriguing. It was true, he was just like her, they could go far, but was that what she wanted. Eternal Eclipse had lived her life solo all of her life, he was asking her to change that.
"Are you okay Eternal?" Silver Talon questioned.
She shook her head, trying to gather her thoughts, to concentrate and focus. She looked back at her army, then at his and then him. Was is possible for her to fall in love with this dragon. Eternal Eclipse stared at him for a long time before she spoke.
"Together we would rule this entire planet," she muttered, more to herself then Silver Talon. "I would be with the most incredible dragon I have ever met. I would have all I have even wanted in life." Eternal Eclipse looked into the eyes of Silver Talon. "I would like to rule by your side more then anything my Lord."
Silver Talon smiled and approached her. He brushed his snout across her cheek and rested it against his neck. Eternal Eclipse could feel the warmth and love flowing within her, she was, for the first time in her life, truly happy and she knew Silver Talon felt the same way.
Eternal Eclipse and Silver Talon led the creatures of the land through many years together, through good times and bad. Through every struggle, they managed to survive. Together they were the greatest rulers Earth would ever see.
And on the day of their deaths, the entire kingdom of Earth mourned for them. It was also on the day of their deaths that all hell broke free and thus was spawned an evil race called humans.
This new breed of creatures began a hunt on the dragons and other creatures of the land.
It began wars after wars with no times of rest. When the dragons needed guidance and salvation, they turned to pray of the Lord Silver and the Goddess Eternal,
who would give them the strength and courage to go on and fight for their lives, no matter how long it took, even if it was for all eternity.
