The seven adventurers leave the tower and fade into the morning fog.  Dame Cassandra instructs Norm, Leliath, and the Erin to scout and roughly map the island. They are to confront no one and nothing, if they can avoid it. They are to look for areas that may make good campsites or may have been used (or are being used) for campsites.   Steve, not wanting to spend the day organizing the equipment in the tower, volunteers to scout the island too. Dm. Cassandra puts Leliath in charge, and instructs them to return twice during the day and be back well before dark.  Dm. Cassandra, Mug, Lee, and Zodac spend the day stacking crates and boxes to make more room for tents within the 400 square foot fortress.

Leliath and company, explore as ordered.  They discover that the  island is completely uninhabited by animals.  The island is about two miles across.  The surrounding swamp yields to a ring of dense woods that you slept in the night before last.  The woods thins to weedy fields on gentle rolling hills, most with bogs clogging the lowlands.  Copses of trees dot the fields as well, all of which would provide adequate cover for campsites.  But none where found and no evidence of past campsites was found either.  The only thing Leliath notices, is that some of the bark bearing weeds appear to have been cut at some time in their life (they  have grown at odd angles).  No signs of anything recent.
