U.S. Army SentryBots
By: Linwood Foster
While the U.S. Army had used automated sentry posts since the early 2020's, fully A.I. weapons sentry systems weren't fielded until the late 2040's. The SentryBot line of A.I. sentries was first fielded in 2061. The SentryBot was used primarily to defend bases and encampments. Its combat computer could operate using basic friend-foe identification, or in the absence of an IFF beacon, on a search, scan, identify capacity. While ill-suited for independent action, they were perfect guards and soldiers when under the supervision of a human soldier. Models of the SentryBot served the U.S. Army until the Apocalypse.
