BabyRibbon's STRAIGHT FROM THE HORSE'S MOUTH
                                         Pony Actors

Dear Baby Ribbon:

I was a faithful watcher of My Little Pony 'n Friends.  You are nothing like the Baby Ribbon on that show!  Am I getting you confused with someone else?

A Long-Time MLP Fan

Dear MLP Fan:

No, that was I.  Actually, this is not the first time I have been questioned about my role on My Little Pony 'n Friends.  Yes, I said role!  All the ponies you saw in that show, in all other series, in all the My Little Pony TV specials, and in the movie were actors.  That's why not all Little Ponies have been seen on TV (some ponies just can't act!).

Furthermore, as in human television, our roles on TV do not always accurately depict our actual personalities, or even the way we live our lives.  My apologies to those of you who saw and loved "Little Piece of Magic," but I am actually not anything like that sweet, innocent, cuddly Uni-cherub who seemed to excel only at winking out incorrectly and talking entirely in sentence fragments (well, in real life I am still sweet.  And pretty.  And the red stripe is for real, too).  I passed Winking 101 with an A- in unicorn school, thank you.  I do, however, still live at the Lullabye Nursery, and I like to play games and roll around and act silly like any normal baby pony.

I am not the only Little Pony who has been slightly misportrayed on TV.  Fizzy is actually not a total and complete featherheaded moron (not totally :-) Luv ya, Fizz), Shady is not a hopeless, self-deprecating clinical depressive, and North Star is not British.  In fact, in the series My Little Pony Tales, nearly everyone was portrayed as an earth pony, whether or not they were in real life (an extraordinary feat of acting indeed).

We all love the shows, nonetheless.  It is wonderful to get to pretend to be someone you are not, even for a little while, to put things in perspective and get the focus off of yourself.  To quote from "Little Piece of Magic,"

We know it's only make-believe, as real as it may seem,
But imagining is so much fun, it makes your life a dream!
