Chapter 8: Home Sweet Home

Amelia was angry. The stupid nonstop smiling idiot Mazoku had left her alone for the seventh time in the three weeks she had been living at Wolf Pack Island and he hadn't even told her where he had left to. Xellos phased into the room and dodged Amelia's punch that had been aimed at his face.

"Finally you're back. What do you think I am? A piece of furniture?"

"But no Amelia" he repressed the urge to point out that furniture was nicer, "you know you can move around the palace whenever you like." Xellos said floating in the air out of her reach.

Amelia crossed her arms, "Of course I can, I did it today and almost got a heart attack when the biggest wolf I had ever seen jumped at me in the kitchen!!"

Xellos chuckled.

"It took some time till it explained that it was actually Xellas the Dark Lord in beast form! Me face to face with a Dark Lord!! You might as well kill me and end my misery!"

"I would love to do you that favor, but since I've promised my sis I would take care of you, I can't." he said.

Xellos decided that since she had already let it all out she should be calmer... wrong... The moment he touched the ground Amelia jumped at him, which he dodged and she landed on the bed.

"Besides Xellas-sama is not that bad, she even told me she likes you, she had more fun today than she's had in centuries ... from seeing your face." he tried to imagine the situation between his mother and Amelia and had to restrain himself from laughing.

"And that's supposed to make me feel better? I just got promoted to a Dark Lord's clown!"

Xellos grinned.

"Don't you dare grin at me like that!" Amelia threw a pillow at him, "Get out! I'm going to sleep!"

Xellos bowed and disappeared.

"Why you idiot Mazoku bastard!"

Still fuming, Amelia went to sleep.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Amelia was running, knowing she had to get somewhere fast.
Amelia was standing in front of a burning house, she wanted to run and help but a dark shadow held her back.
"Let me go! LET ME GO!! MOM!! DAD!!" She was screaming, why couldn't she help? She wanted to help! She should help!
"Amelia, wake up, Amelia!"
Amelia opened her eyes, Xellos was shaking her, her cheeks were wet with tears.
"Mom... dad..." Amelia didn't seem to see him.
Xellos hugged and put her head on his shoulder. He had heard her screaming at the same time he had felt her emotions flooding the area, first he had enjoyed a good midnight snack, but as anyone, Mazoku could get too much food and since Xellos didn't fancy a bellyache he went to her. Normally, when Mazoku had had enough nourshipment, they killed the prey, and as Xellos was promise-bound not to do *that* he decided on the more perilous action of actually entering the room and waking the girl.
"Shh.. It'll be all right." Xellos stroked her hair. He liked her hair, black as the night and so long.
Suddenly Amelia stiffened, Wait a minute, Xellos is hugging me...
Xellos had just enough time to think ...oh oh!, before he was slammed against the wall. He hit a couple of bookshelves, and the books rained on him.
"MAZOKU PERVERT!! Taking advantage of me when I'm vulnerable! WHAT WERE YOU DOING IN MY ROOM?!"
"So much for gratitude.... You woke the whole island with your screams, would you rather have Xellas-sama come here instead of me?" Xellos started floating around.
"I... I... JUST GET OUT OF MY ROOM!" she screamed.
Well, I can tell that she's feeling better...
"Sweat dreams." Xellos disappeared.
Amelia sat on her bed. "I definitely hate him!"
And yet she could not deny that he had comforted her.
