New Skills usable in almost any Palldium setting
Weapon Proficiencies
W.P. Cards ---- The ability to throw cards like ninjas stars and have them do damage. This ability also allows you to "boomerang" the cards
after nicking your target. The only real restriction here is that you're character must have a P.P. of 17 or better, or no strike bonuses until level 5.
bonuses: +1 to strike when thrown at levels 1, 5, 8, and 12.
Damage from cards: cheap, drug store cards 1d4 SDC.
bicycle/good stock cards 1d6 SDC
heavy stock cards/old comic cards 1d6 +2 SDC
metal collector cards/business cards 1d8+1 SDC
metal blade type cards 2d6+3 SDC
MD metal cards 1d6 MD
Range: 15 ft. plus 1 ft. per every 4 P.S. points, and 1 ft. per 5 P.P. points.
Rate of Fire: equal to number of HTH attacks per melee at 1st level, can use this as an extra attack at level 4, 8, and 12. (A max of three extra
attacks!) Meaning that at level 4, a charcter with 5 attacks can attack with other weapons 5 times,as normal, and attack 1 extra time with a card.
(Like dragon's breath)
Science
Astrology--To complement the Astronomy skill, this one grants characters the basic knowledge about constellations, the meanings and times of year behind them, as well as the mythology of each constellation. This skill may also grant the character knowledge of placement and therefore a rudimentary form of star navigation.
Base Skill: 30% + 4% per level. Note: Taking this skill grants the chracter a +5% bonus to both Astronomy and Land Navigation (though only at night).
Basic Physics---This skill gives the player the general knowledge behind the concepts of gravity, flight, and other simple ideas. This will help
the player when determining force, friction, and other applications. As well as allowing the
player to become a competant lab assistant.
Base Skill: 42% + 4% per level. Requirment: Basic Mathematics
Advanced Physics---Provides a far more advanced understanding of probability, reactions, a general knowledge of a majority of all science
branches. Gives characters a more refined understanding of certain scientific principles and research, as well as time working in a lab.
Base Skill: 42% + 4% per level. Requirment: Advanced Mathematics, Basic Physics, and Literacy. A computer skill is also helpful, but not
needed.
Domestic
Brewing---A skill that was for some reason left out. This gives the character an in-depth knowledge of the various methods of brewing beer,
whiskey, and other powerful alcoholic substances. Definately an important skill when civilization is a few hundred miles away.
Base Skill: 34% +6% per level.
Acting---Provides the character with the ability to succesfully act in plays, remember lines, and sometimes infiltrate enemy lines due to
poularity. Also allows the character an in-depth knowledge of drama and typical stage choreography. Though no skills are required, Disguise
and Impersonation would definitely be helpful.
Base Skill: 45% + 5% per level. Skill Bonus: If taken twice, add another +10%, this means the acting is of a professional quality. Also add
+5% to Disguise or Impersonation when taken.
Rogue & Military
Scrounging: Though most characters do this already, this skill allows for a greater chance of getting some sort of useful item from the surrounding area. This also gives the character an edge over someone who is simply looking around. Any item may be seen as useful in this character's eyes. Basically, this skill may turn the character into a second rate MacGyver.
Base Skill: 40% + 6% per level.
Technical
Lore-Mythology:This skill grants the character knowledge of different pantheons and includes story knowledge and religious knowledge of the different types. This may include customs and rites of passage and other useful knowledge. Definitely useful when dealing with Godlings and Gods themselves! As with the language skill, each Mythology skill purchases knowledge of only 1 specific mythology. The most common being: Greek, Roman, Norse, Aztec, Babylonian, and Sumerian. Of course others can be determined, but primarily at the whim of the GM.
Base skill: 35% + 5% per level.
