Name: Carzin's Cartography

Type: Cartographer services and map making

Owner: Carzin Stargazer (4th lvl human male cartographer and explorer, brother to ruler of Myfrn)

Capacity: The front meeting room has space for about 8. There is a small back office, a larger map drawing room and an underground storage vault of the more valuable maps and oddities he has collected in his travels.

Common Patrons:

Description: Carzin is extremely proud of his collection of maps and his souveniers from around the world. Many are stored in the entry room where patrons describe their needs to Carzin. The rest are stored below in a hidden underground vault accessible through the office. Customers are rarely allowed anywhere else other than the entry hall but he will occassionally allow them into the drawing room to add details to the map.

Encounter: Carzin loves to talk about his adventures when he was younger and will constantly get off the subject to point out a souvenier and detail it's entire history to all who will listen.


Name: Dragon Transport

Type: Aerial transportation system

Location: Stratholme

Services/Comfort: Low to Excellent, depending on how much you pay.

Safety Level: Low to Excellent

Capacity: The landing area has a 3 barns capable of storing 5 small sized (or one full sized) dragons each. There is also a gigantic feed building and another smaller building to make travel arrangements. Each small sized dragon is capable of carrying around 2500lbs.

Common Patrons:

Description: The Dragon Transport System (DTS) is the fastest and and safest way to travel long distances. Each city has it's own dragons and landing strip. Stratholme, has 5 dragons at their disposal (3 Cloud Dragons, 1 Amber Dragon and 1 Green Dragon). Passage to another city in Azeroth (with their own DTS) is between 400-3000 gold, depending on which dragon you want and how much cargo you have. There are usually 2 flights leaving and arriving each day. Passage to locations without a DTS are sometimes available but usually at about 3 times the cost. Most of the dragons are all well trained and will not vary much from their predetermined flight plan. However, the Green dragon is a bit unruly and headstrong and without a skilled handler, will buck passengers off if they annoy him.

Name: The Hunter's Hound

Type: Animal training

Location: Stratholme

Services/Comfort: Low

Safety Level: Average

Security Level: Good; Several trained War Dogs are on duty during non-business hours.

Owner: Nathial Dustracker (2nd lvl Wood Elf Tracker and Beastmaster)

Capacity: The bulk of the building is open space, used for training. Training equipment is kept all around the edges and in storage rooms. The room can handle up to Large size creatures. Two small offices serve as Nathial's business center and temporary living quarters (his preferred home is in the forest outside of town).

Common Patrons:

Description: The Hound is a converted abandoned warehouse in a bad part of town that Nathial was able to purchase quite cheaply from the city. As Nathial spends every free moment outside the city in his native forest, the decorations are sparse and the comfort level is low. Nathial is not very sociable (especially with humans) and would rather spend his time with the animals.

Name: The Hay Bale

Type: Stable

Location: Stratholme

Services/Comfort: Good; 6-8 stable hands are on duty at any given time during the day. Tyson's house is adjacent to the stable and can be reached after hours for latecomers. Tyson doesn't spend much on advertising, decor or security but makes up for it by hiring good help and paying them for a job well done.

Owner: Tyson Greenfeet (1st lvl human male)

Capacity: 48 standard stalls and 4 larger, customizable stalls for unique mounts. A large storage barn is connected to the back of the stables to store hay, tools and other supplies.

Common Patrons:

Description: The stables are divided along two major aisles, leaving 4 rows of pens. Each aisle has 12 stalls with one customizable stall at the end. Fresh hay covers most of the ground and the pens are kept in good working order. The hay barn is two levels high and usually quite full.

Encounter: Due to the low security, many transients take refuge in the soft hay and warmth of the barn during the colder months. As long as the horses aren't bothered, Tyson doesn't really mind.


Name: Casino of the Night

Type: Casino

Location: Stratholme

Services/Comfort: Good

Safety Level: Low; Although security is tight, the presense of so many vampires always results in danger. Natalia and Vars strictly (and, if necessary, violently) enforce the "no vamping" rule inside the casino. However, many vampires use the casino as a scouting ground for prey to be hunted later.

Security Level: High; The casino always has at least 12 armed guards on hand at all times. At least 15 more undercover guards roam the floor. About half of the guards are vampires, a fact they hide very well.

Owner: The visible owner is Natalia Duskwing (female 5th lvl half-elf businesswoman/mage) but she only holds a quarter possession of the casino. She reports directly to Vars Thornbrush (male vampire 8th lvl human) who is the principal owner.

Capacity: The main floor hold 320 easily. There are 10 back rooms used as office space and storage. A secret tunnel leads to Vars' underground lair.

Common Patrons: Although many normal citizens frequent the casino, it is actually a safe haven for vampires. Strong magic wards conceal a vampires true nature from other spellcasters and vampire hunters.

Description: The Casino of the Night is a fairly typical casino as would be found in any large city. Because of the constant threat of vampires in Stratholme, casino staff plays up to this genre and frequently dresses and behaves like them. The menu and decor are also designed to enhance the mysterious ambiance. In truth, this makes for an excellent cover for the real vampires who do stop by for a visit.

Name: Stratholme Post Office

Type: Post Office

Location: Stratholme

Services/Comfort: Low; Bartholomew prefers to work alone so everything is "done right". However, after a few complaints, old Bart has hired a couple of young "whippersnappers" to aid him in the more mundane tasks.

Safety Level: Average

Security Level: High

Owner: Bartholomew J. Tarkinheimer (old male 2nd lvl human) is the postmaster however, the post office is owned by the Stratholme government.

Capacity: The entry hall has 4 windows and could comfortably hold 35 people. The back storeroom is 90'x 120' and is normally about 1/3 full of boxes and packages. 3 small offices handle all the other business needs.

Common Patrons:

Description: The Stratholme post office is a large, nondescript warehouse. Recent government funding has allowed old Bart to begin to spruce up the place, starting with elaborately carved heavy wooden front doors and two new gargoyle statues. However, these few new splashes of decor here and there still look out of place in the drab environment. Customers have begun to expect a long wait each time they enter as Bart doesn't trust anyone else to handle the mail and must have every detail made perfect before the patrons are allowed to leave.

Encounter: Unbeknownst to Bart or any city official, local crime lord Tryant the Blue has substituted a real gargoyle for one of the statues and uses him as a spy to monitor all incoming and outgoing mail.


Name: The Healing Way

Type: Hospital

Location: Stratholme

Services/Comfort: Excellent; The Healing Way boasts a full time staff of 15 doctors, 6 clerics and 25 nurses and aids. Each room is comfortably furnished for both the patient and their guests.

Safety Level: Average

Security Level: Good; Between 6-8 lightly armed guards roam the halls at all hours of the day and night.

Owner: The hospital is a government funded organization.

Capacity: There are 55 rooms with two beds each and 15 single bed rooms. There are 8 operationg rooms.

Common Patrons:

Description: The Healing Way was founded 45 years ago by two monks who helped people in their homes. They were entirely funded by donations. When the demand became too much for the two monks to handle alone, they began recruiting other healers and clerics as well as petitioning the government for funding. After a few years, the Healing Way became the first goverment funded hospital in all of Kragora. It's current location is a 3 story building full of the latest in medical technology and magical devices. Donations are still requested from all patients but not necessarily required for treatment.

Name: Theatre of History

Type: Drama theater and museum

Location: Stratholme

Services/Comfort: Good

Safety Level: Good

Security Level: Good; 4 heavily armed guards are on duty at all times. Most of the historical documents and displays are also protected by high level magical wards.

Owner: Marcus Deepriver (male 4th lvl Half-Elf actor) is the head of the drama troupe and business owner of the Theatre.

Capacity: The main hall seats 75 and is centered around a stage that comfortably allows up to 12 actors and props. There are two dressing rooms and a large storage closet for props behind the stage. 12 other rooms and hallways hold historical documents and displays for viewing after the shows. Two offices exist to handle business matters and house security personel.

Common Patrons: Nahualli

Description: The Theatre of History attempts to relate in dramatical form the history of Stratholme. The shows portray it's humble beginnings as a frontier trading post for trappers and lead up to it's current status as a major metropolitan city. Historical items on display include the Stratholme constitution, the magical boots of the cities founder, a claw from a rampaging black dragon that nearly destroyed the city and sword used by a legendary hero to rid the city of a vampire infestations 80 years ago. Admission is 3 sp and includes a tour of the rest of the museum.
