A large man, with windburned skin and a long scar on the right cheek. Has
long brown hair and a long beard with braids interwoven in it. Normally wears
armor made from various beasts he has slain, and a metal helm with horns on the
side. His many weapons are slung at various points on his body for easy access.
Reminds most of a well-meaning but dim older brother. Tends to strike first and
think of the consequences later, but with the responsibilities of his position
as Captain of the Slayers he tries to consider the welfare of his troops first.
While in combat, he prefers to use pole arms or chain weapons, and his weapon of
choice is a goupillon flail. |
Raised in the frigid Northlands in a fierce warrior society. His home
city was burned to the ground by a group of Frost Giants and their magically
animated army of ice golems. Leif has harbored a near pathological hatred of
any golem ever since. He was taken in by an aging knight who had hidden himself
away in solitude. After many years of training, Leif was ready to ride forth,
dispensing justice across his war-torn land. He joined a group of adventurers
while still fairly young and inexperienced, and his nerves caused him to lose
grip of his weapon in the heat of battle several times. As a mantle of personal
shame, he gave himself the monniker Leif the Loose-Gripped and vowed to keep it
until he proved himself worthy of a new name. That opportunity presented itself
before long. Fate led Leif and his band of companions into a battle with the
Frost Giants, and Leif himself delivered the killing blow to Ymir, king of the
Frost Giants. Leif then took the name Leif the Slayer. Upon his retirement from the adventuring business, he became
Captain of the Slayers, an elite group of bodyguards. |
