Leathergauntlet is a quiet, no-nonsense type who sees things in black and white, with no room for grey in between. He has no concern for excuses and bribes downright offend him. His straight-arrow attitude has caused much grumbling among Culhaven's citizens and not a few complaints find their way
into the Sheriff of Culhaven's mailbox. Mayor Gemfacet has no problems with the extra revenue that Leathergauntlet's many citations provide, however.
Leathergauntlet parades around town in an immaculate Deputy of Culhaven uniform when on duty, with glistening brass buttons and badge and gleaming polished boots. His flaming red hair and beard is always neatly trimmed and braided. When off duty and in civilian clothes, he still carries himself as if he feels superior to those around him. Despite his many shortcomings, there is no denying he loves Culhaven and will do anything to ensure the safety and protection of its citizens. |
Leathergauntlet knew what he wanted out of life the moment he saw his first Sheriff stride by, with his grand uniform and long feather in his cap. He modeled his life to public service from then on, beginning in elementary school as a sort of "playground patrol," breaking up scuffles and beating the stuffing out of bullies and such. Later, when he was out of school but still considered too young to be a Deputy, he proved his worth by single-handedly solving a rash of thefts that had been plaguing Culhaven for months and had the
Sheriff and his Deputies completely baffled. Leathergauntlet quickly became the youngest Deputy in recent memory, and is well on his way to becoming the youngest Sherriff of Culhaven. Volunteered for part-time employment at the Grog
Guzzler as a bouncer to keep tabs on the drifters and adventurers who pass through Culhaven, and ensure they don't cause any mischief while they are there. |
