Hellock is smooth and shiny, with bright eyes and very few facial features. He has chosen a life of solitude out of fear of causing another disaster like when he was created. Tries to put on a gruff and threatening
demeanor, but will help those whom he takes pity on. Avoids water as much as he can, as he tends to rust. |
Hellock was the pet project of a blacksmith in a small village in
Xeen who decided to dabble with magic to improve his smithing abilities. He was created in all innocence, as the smithy merely wanted Hellock to serve as an assistant and companion, but the highly superstitious and paranoid villagers
were extremely alarmed at the shiny metal being shuffling around the shop. One dark night, roused into a frenzy by the local cleric, the villagers attacked the shop with torches, pitchforks, and whatever else they could lay their hands on.
When his master was slain and his home burned, Hellock flew into a rage, slaying every attacker and rampaging through the town, smashing everything within reach. The local constable arrived the next morning to find Hellock sitting quietly in the middle of town, cradling his master's body and gazing impassively at the destruction he had caused. The constable and his deputies attempted to capture Hellock, but he simply turned and trudged into the hills, the deputies' weapons glancing harmlessly off of his metal hide. Hellock was branded an outlaw, and to this day cannot show his face in any city or village in Xeen. |
