Description Background
Ironbeard is no longer the warrior he once was, but his reputation is more than enough to keep him out of trouble. His dark eyes glitter out from behind a thick, dirty white beard and his countless scars, leathery skin, and gnarled hands speak of a lifetime of combat and abuse. He rarely sees the need to wear heavy armor or carry weapons about, usually wearing a fine silk hood and expensive clothing when out on the town. When he must keep up appearances, such as acting as Master of Ceremonies for various events at the Arena, he has a fiendishly expensive suit of gilt armor with a dazzling scarlet cloak, and an immense golden battleaxe strapped to his back. Ironjaw is one of the few Dwarves that can claim to be a veteran of every single major battle during the Troll Wars, and many other battles before and since. Battle and warfare has been the focus of his entire life, and he neither knows nor cares for much of anything else. Upon his retirement from the Army of Paragon, he moved to Azeroth and founded the Arena of Might and Steel in Stromgarde, as there is a huge market for gladiator combat in Azeroth. Ironjaw has enough business sense to read his crowd and judge his success by their reactions. Crowd favorites make frequent appearances, and sometimes he goes as far as to create "soap opera" storylines to keep things interesting. Local vendors have make a killing selling merchandise based on warriors whom Ironjaw has made famous, and of course Ironjaw himself lives very comfortably now in his penthouse overlooking the Arena.
