Domath is usually dressed in tunics and breeches, with a hooded cloak in the usual Dwarf-fashion. His glazed eyes and staggering gait immediately mark him as one who has had several dozen too many, but fortunately he is a fairly good-natured drunk. He has an immense carven beer mug that never leaves his hand, and several other flasks and jugs hang off his body at various locations, no doubt filled with some foul substance that will ensure his constant drunken state. One of his prized posessions is a leather cap with a flask on either side, and a leather straw running from the flasks to his mouth. |
Domath was born on a dark and stormy night in the keg cellar of a tavern. At the very moment of his birth, a great beer keg split a seam, and deluged the entire cellar and all its occupants, including the newly-born Domath, in Granddad's Special Dark Home Brew. It has been said that there never was a more quiet and happy baby than Domath was after his first taste of beer. With that early introduction, it is little wonder that he devoted his life to the study of brewing, setting up his own brewery in his father's cellar and experimenting with every conceivable ingredient combination and fermenting process known, and making up some of his own as he went along. His first efforts were less than a resounding success, as his Domath's First Brew was
mistaken for weak tea in the few taverns that would accept his concoctions, and the highly unstable Hand of Thor brew knocked a paladin's war charger stone dead when he accidentally left a smoking keg of it near the hitching-post. Disappointed with his failures, he took to drinking himself into oblivion and hiring on to any tavern who would keep him around for a few weeks. Every great once in a while, in a drunken fit of genius, he will come up with a delightful, smooth-tasting brew that will bring customers from miles around to sample the wondrous concoction. The only downside is that he is too drunk to remember how he made it, so when the batch runs out it's back to square one. |
