Description Background
Delg is a stocky and muscular young Dwarf with stone grey eyes and long white hair. His long braided beard is tucked into a wide leather belt, over which a hauberk of steel rings hangs nearly to his knees. Spiked elbow and shoulder pads and full helm add to his image of a hardened Dwarven battlerager, although he alone knows he has had very few battles to actually rage in. Delg is the eldest son of Dwall Fellhammer, patriarch of the Fellhammer clan. His childhood home was Hammer Halls, a small community of Dwarf exiles nestled deep in the mountains of Paragon. Many years ago, the Fellhammer clan was dishonored in a land dispute with the Steelbeard clan, as the heirlooms of the Fellhammers had been locked in a keep deep in the mountains for safekeeping, and records of the keep's location were lost during the Troll Wars. Without these treasures, the Fellhammers could not prove their nobility status to the Steelbeards and were dishonored and exiled for challenging the Steelbeard royalty over a land claim. Delg grew up with these tales that his father would tell him by the fireside, and dreamed of the day when he would find the lost keep of the Fellhammers and restore his family to honor. He dedicated his life early on to the art of weaponcraft, apprenticing himself to the village blacksmith and taking what instruction he could from the few warriors that the village had. One night, he decided he could wait no longer and slipped out, leaving a good-bye note for his family and bringing his pack mule Gunthor along for the trip. A quick stop at the blacksmith's to arm himself, and he was on his way. It didn't take very long for Delg to realize why people had called it the "lost" keep. After several weeks of searching the mountains near his home, he had covered only the smallest fraction of the mountain range where the keep was rumored to have been hidden. His food supply was running low, and the oncoming winter did not promise many hunting opportunities. His path soon crossed with a caravan of traders, who took notice of the young dwarf. Fortunately Delg had outfitted hiself in some rather impressive and fierce looking armor, and the traders assumed he was a mighty wandering champion. Offering him food and shelter and a few gold pieces, Delg was hired as protection for the caravan. When winter lifted, he left seeking more profitable employment, but staying near his mountains. While he has broken up a few scuffles and fought off amateur highwaymen, he has yet to truly test himself in battle.
