One Who Walks Alone

--by White Raven Angel ©

None so noble there is as a knight,
One who upholds the one true right,
Warrior to the last, showing no fear,
Even the time when the end draws near.

Understanding the truth, and doing right,
Always walking in the light,
Serving, protecting, defending all,
heeding the troubled ones beck and call.

But now, the knights are a dying breed,
Most of their kind have taken heed,
No more damsels need rescue, nor duels to be fought,
No kings left to serve, nor quests to be sought.

Now the sword once again rests in the stone,
Waiting for the one who walks alone,
And a knight, when troubled and facing strife,
Will always rememeber, "My honor is my life."
