Tales of Tigera

Herein reside several Tales of Adventure from my time on the strange new world of Tigera. Enjoy! CMacD.

The First Hall

The First Hall of Tigera, is the name given to the first city the survivors from Rrass constructed upon their arrival on their new homeworld. Unsure of their new home, its' weather, its' beasts, the yet-unknown dangers of the planet, the Tigerans employed their Dwarven compatriots to delve deep into the roots of the mountains that ring the world. A vast and complex city was slowly carved beneath those towering peaks. But living underground was a Dwarven habit, unknown to the Tigerans until this time, and to maintain some familiarity, the new city was laid out according to ancient custom.

Traditionaly, a circular meeting hall marked the very center of all Tigeran communities, with four seperate Clan enclaves encircling it, each enclave centered on one of the four compass points. With the loss of Clan Yellow with the destruction of their homeworld, there were but three Clans now. It was during the excavation of the First Hall that the Tigeran ruling Council decided upon the custom of including the enclave of the now-destroyed Yellow Clan. It was included so as to be a permenant reminder of their lost home and people, the price of their racial arrogance and greed. Thus, the fourth enclave was created, every bit the equal to the other three, but was never inhabited.

The riches of Tigera were many, and the Dwarves delved deeper and deeper beneath the mountains, digging long after The First Hall was well and finished and inhabited. And the Clans of Tigera as well as the Dwarves, prospered from the mines beneath the city. Long ages passed and the Tigerans once more reached out into the Void and founded trade routes amoung the spheres. And they prospered even more.Once again, Greed reared its' ugly head, and wealth and power became the ambitions of the Tigerans and the motivation of the Dwarves. But the Dwarves delved into the heart of the mountains, and there, disturbed an Evil long dormant.

Freed from its' long sleep, the Evil burst forth and, gathering its' minions from the creatures of the Dark, plundered and ravaged The First Hall. Many were the lives lost in this time, Dwarf and Tigeran alike. Some were taken by the Evil and its' Dark Horde, some were lost in battling them. Finaly, in desperation, the First Hall was abandoned and the huge Gates sealed. And the Evil was left to rot and fester in the Darkness once again, only its' minions to prey upon.
