G1 Constructicons

Owning the actual vintage G1 Constructions is prohibitively expensive, so I opted for the TF: Universe MicroMaster release instead. I have to say, after seeing the originals in person a while back, my replacements work fine, even if they aren't exactly the same as the originals. G1 Devastator is a lot shorter than I remember, and so the MicroMaster version really isn't that much smaller at all. The individual robots are somewhat smaller, but I usually leave them combined as Devastator anyway. The green, purple and black colour scheme works great and really evokes a sense of the originals. I'm not sure how difficult these are to find now, being store exclusives, but in my opinion they make a fine substitute for the originals.

I also saw the Defensor and Superion MicroMaster sets and remain unimpressed. There's something about the MicroMaster Constructicon set that's much better, in my opinion. Maybe it's because most of the vehicles resemble the originals, and the combined mode isn't too far off.
