Background: Roxanne grew up pm the streets; no parents, no home. Prostitution seemed like the only answer to cover her addictions to a series of drugs, culminating in her current addiction to "Angel" (which is used by pimps to ensure "service", since it is highly addictive, very expensive, and each dose renders the user effectively 'out of it' for two hours). However, the body sculpts she was given to increase her value eventually led to a way out. Now she has some powerful friends and the start of a new career as a rockergirl. She had a cybersnake installed many about seven years ago, as a last ditch protection in a dangerous profession, and has only used it once on the pimp that owned her for too long.
She met Macinta five years ago, a homeless wrech with no street sense. Roxanne befriended her and took her in, fearing she was headed for the same fate Roxanne had just escaped. The two have been through much together, and have shared a loft for four years while Macinta put herself through college. The two now live on the 19th floor of an old office block, sharing it with three other guys. Its an unusual group of misfits who are trying to eke out an existence in the urban mess. As of yet, none of her new friends know about her drug addiction, though she still needs a daily McCoy (air-hypo shot) to keep it together.
Performing has become central to Roxanne's new life. With two sets of interface jacks, she becomes on with the sitar-amp that is her only valued possession. A mixture of hard rock and haunting lyrics, has made your first solo project, 'Is It Good Enough? at number 45 and rising, for once things are looking good.
Roxanne must have a dose of Angel at least every 24hours, otherwise she will quickly lapse into violent fits. These will last until she either gets a hit or does a cold turkey (which will take at least a week). |
