Details: Deep Throat used to work for the CIA but became a rogue CIA man and joined the conspiracy. When he was with the CIA in Vietnam he witnessed a UFO shot down over Hanoi by marines. He is one of three men to have killed a grey alien. The alien's blank expression haunts Deep Throat and he uses Mulder to atone for what he has done. He is in a 'privileged' postion to pass on classified information to Agent Mulder and becomes Mulder's informant. He takes an interest in Mulder's work and claims he is interested in the 'truth'.

He contacts Mulder via clicks down the phone. Mulder contacts Deep Throat by shining a blue light through his apartment window and awaits a phone call.

Deep Throat is responsible for keeping Mulder where he is. He informs Mulder that his and Scully's lives are in danger but he also lies to him to steer Mulder away from certain aspects of the conspiracy that he believes Mulder is not ready to expose yet. He says he can get tickets for any American Football game in the country.

He was assassinated by the Crew Cut Man when exchanging an alien foetus for Agent Mulder.
