Question::  Where do You feel the Gorean Philosophy is most misunderstood?

Modred::  I think that everyone must subscribe to the common sense of honor. That is where things go wrong. I dont force my values on anyone .... so be damn sure they wont on me...I use slaves when I want where I want .... but to others that is rape. I will add that I have NEVER used a collared slave unless she was given to me or she was red silk. Who is right? Who is wrong?

Question::  What is Your impression of the Gorean Community?

Modred::  My impressions....to many try to bend gor to what they think it is. We all have to interpret and I am not saying that you have to go by the books like the word of the priest kings. But come on castles on gor? Mansions? slaves as ops?

Modred::  yeah, they own taverns. I was told yesterday by a well known person that I argued about semantics. I had to laugh...it was one of the age old debates saying Tal as a farewell. I was debating with a op and another person that it was used countless times in the books as a farewell when to my knowkledge it was used only once but yet I was arguing semantics. Another side note: If you are going to quote directly from a book be sure to have read the book. <g>

Question::  What are Your views of the Gorean Philosophy ...How do You define it?

Modred::  This is going to sound like a copout but I agree with Marcus... there is no one philosophy on gor, other than the strong will survive and ultimately one must live up only to oneselves opinions. A very wise Man once taught me: "The way of honor is a path that each man must walk alone."

Question::  For many to bring the Gorean Philosophy into their earthly lives ..the cost and sacrifices are great ...What has been Your greatest sacrifice to date?

Modred::  I haven't made any great sacrifices.... perhaps others may say that I am not living as Gorean. I live walking down the path of honor this keeps me from stealing things I want.

Modred::  I have sacrificed billions of mega bytes of hard drive space.... with wav sounds most I'll never play.

Question::  Master has just stated that "walking down the path of honor keeps You from "stealing" things You want." Can Master give us an example?

Modred::  When I see computer software I cant afford... I dont steal it. It was just a example. Everyone has their own conception of honor.

Question::  To date, who or what has been Your greatest influence on Your journey?

Modred::  Several of my friends from the Silk&Steel. I have learned the most from Bear.... I know this sounds like I am a monumental suck up ... but it is the truth. He has helped me get my cranium screwed on right. Zeb, _Marcus_, Caldreth, and Raven have done alot for me... I frankly am honored to associate with men like them.

Question::  Do You feel sex is a factor in a Master/slave relationship?

Modred::   It's a major factor... after all ultimately what does a woman have? what makes her a woman? (other than a brain) but YES a slave/Master relationship can be fullfilling without the exchange of sex. It's major because in the give and take of mastery a girls sexual skills is one of the only thing she has, but sex doesn't make the Master. Nor Is Gor based on sex.

Question::  You were once an Assassin ..actively ..what has changed that You no longer are active?

Modred::  I wised up....as to say that it was a waste of time and down right gameplay, we all to some extent role play... But until I can reach through a moniter I will just concentrate on slaves.

Question::  So in effect Your saying that by accepting the gorean tenets ..as such and embracing the gorean philosophy You found no need to "play" at Gor?

Modred::  Correct

Question::  What would You like most for the readers to know about You?

Modred::  That I haven't had near as much fun as I am rumored to have had. I am no one of great repute... I simply am what i am.... and I sleep soundly at night. I dont make claims of honor... or being gorean, I go as my heart and soul and mind guide me. I am very serious about what I do on irc.

Question::  What is Your opinion on the meaning of the above passage?

Modred::  I think it refers to the tightrope one could walk...it is not hard to let your slave get to you... her beauty ... her sex appeal..... I have seen cases where a strong master is topped by a beautiful slave sometimes he doesnt even know it....it also eludes to the fact that one must not fear of loosing the slave ... if it means that his honor is lost.

Mastery

Question::  Your thoughts on slave rape ..and the advantages of it in regards to forcing a slave to feel her belly?

Modred::  *grins* You dare to use the word rape? <g> slave rape in some cases will force a slave to let loose the last taboos and realize the freedom that comes from the collar. We all know how rape has been bandied about with my name, the taboo comes from decades of "Brainwashing" that it is not ok to be sexually attractive... to love sex for what it is. An uncollared girl will realize her place in life, although uncollared slaves are of course a irc convention. A collar doesn't neccesarily make a slave.... I know many a unowned girl who felt the weight upon their neck.

Question::  What is Your opinion that slaves are for the use of their particular Owner only?

Modred::  My opinion is that it is up to their master. I, myself, when I feel they are ready for it allow my slaves to please any master. Many masters subconciously equate slaves as girlfriends, they are jealous or down right afraid... abhorant that another would touch his slave.

Question::  What are Your training methods and how do they differ from others?

Modred::  I dont think my training methods are all that different... I give any slave I train clear instructions, I will punish just as quickly as I reward. I won't let a slave alcove or otherwise please until I believe that her belly is well on fire... that she is mentally educated, otherwise it would lead to my embarrasment. I also have found that whipping isnt all that effective... I rather use words... they can hit harder.... ie: "I am disappointed in you slave". I think a great deal of Masters whip a slave to show others how tough and mean he is.

Question::  You are considered to be a brutal and harsh Master by many .. Your opinion on this?

Modred::  To some I seem to be brutal. I simply see slaves as what they are, property. Yes they are emotional, tenderhearted usually sweet individuals but lets face facts women come here to be Mastered... they will seek out the stronger Masters. Most Men come here to "BE" Masters. Why pull punches? Incidentally I wouldn't want slaves to be any less emotional or kindhearted.

Question::  lassy remembers when You used to be a Master who would whip at the drop of a hat ... and You have stated that You have since learned that is not necessary ..what has brought that to Your attention?

Modred::  A lot of realization... that pretty descriptive words... doesn't make the master or the slave. That and conversations with many, many slaves...yes, I, Modred the Evil, listen to slaves... I would be a fool not to. Although listening doesn't mean that you agree or will do what the slave thinks is best. One has to do what the Master wants to do period. Why is he here? To cyber fuck?

Question::  What do You feel is the most common crime committed by slaves?

Modred::  the most common crime....I would say putting her own wants and needs ahead of masters, or feeling self important.

Question::  Would You say that a slave is able to change or can change ever occur with a slave?

Modred::  Yes, by all means slaves can change as well as masters. A slave will never grow, for that matter a Master either, if they don't keep an open mind, one does not have to be sick to get better.

Question::  Even though they do not exist, describe YOUR perfect slave.

Modred::  I know what you think I'll say.... real long hair. Seriously total willingness to obey... total devotion while still being able to use her head. No one wants to bed a robot.... an inflatable toy would be cheaper and less of a headache. The ultimate slave will never deny what she is.

Question::  It has been rumored that You encourage same sex relations between slaves, Your reaction?

Modred::  I do only because it pleases me to see two women together. I like to 'push" slaves it helps them grow. One of the things here is to explore yourself including sexuality.

Question::  What is Your opinion of the open sexual usage of slaves in channel?

Modred::  In a perfect irc Ithink it would be great. Gor is a sexually active world.... yet on irc one never knows what age on lookers are. also .... there is a risk that the channel turns into a gorean orgy.

Question::  In your opinion, when is it appropriate to punish a slave?

Modred::  Whenever the Master wishes... simply put

Question::  Do you think it is acceptible to punish the slave of another Master?

Modred::  That depends, As a op I have punished other slaves.... I very rarely whip them... I am fond of the dung sack... or even a quick boot outa the tavern. I respect anothers property... but if a slave transgresses in the tavern on my watch, there will be hell to pay. I have also found that simple embarrassment can be punishment enough.

Question::  Is mental punishment more effective than physical?

Modred::  On irc yes, we dont always admit it, but the keyboard and moniter soften a whipstrike.

Question::  If mental punishment is more effective than physical, what are Your favored forms of mental punishment?

Modred::   I find that simple phrases; "I am disappointed in you" ... or "you let me down".... "You are not pleasing", work effectively though when I use them it is meant. I find no reason to lie to slaves.

Question::  Is open humiliation a good tool to be used when teaching a slave or correcting one?

Modred::  Yes,it is! It makes it worse...it's embarrasing.... it will mortify a slave when she knows all will look upon her with disgust.

Question::  When does the gossip of slaves become a concern for Masters? If and when it becomes such, how should it be dealt with?

Modred::  It becomes a concern when they are no longer pleasing... when it interfers with them serving. Otherwise.. I have enough to deal with as it is ...I have no need to look for more headaches. I would punish all involved, I can't play favorites. If it comes to my attention ... if it takes up my time, I'm going to be almighty pissed!

Question::  Do you think it permissable for a slave to have secrets which he or she keeps from a Master?

Modred::  NO! Absolutley not she owns nothing. She shouldn't keep anything from him....You can't grow inside if you are hiding somthing .... why come to irc if you are not going to be honest?

Question::  Do you ever feel limited in your Master/slave relationship by the dictates set forth in the books?

Modred::  Not really ... the books set the stage, the format... but we are who we are regardless where it is, for that matter even when we turn the computer off.

Question::  A slave goes behind her Master's back and misbehaves. Should the Master be held responsible?

Modred::  Not entirely... he should be the one that sets the punishment but he looses no honor.

Questions::  How many slaves do You Own?

Question::  Do You believe in a chain?

Modred::  I believe in whatever makes a master happy...<g> Though I think more than two girls.. is asking for a headache. Also I think many think to count their worth in the number of slaves he owns.

Question::  What are the advantages of a chain? The disadvantages?

Modred::  Advantages are you have better than average chance of having service from one of your own slaves.

Disadvantages is its harder to deal with more than a few personalities You have to spread your time out more.... I am not saying catering to "their" needs...but even slaves need maintenance.

How far into Your slave(s) real life does Your Mastery touch?

Modred::  I go as far as they allow....I do not interfere in real life unless it is asked for...I am a realist, irc slaves for all our Bluster are here voluntarily. I don't push it further.... as many are married or have children. I can't be there 24/7 so I do only what I can.

Question::  You are known as "Quick-Serve Modred", You perfer Your serves to be quick, and fast, does that not prevent a slave to show her belly to You?

Modred::  Not at all. Mostly I was fed up with the pretty wordy... "look how pretty I am " serves. I dabble with haiku.... where you are very limited in number of words, you are forced to choose your words. some times less is better... also new girls seeing the elaborate serves begin to think "This is how I am supposed to serve?".

* Modred chuckles* ... in some cases I feel grey hair growing ... as I watch how long it takes some to serve.

Question::  What do You find most provacative in a slave's serve?

Modred::  It is no secret that I enjoy slaves with long hair.... btw I cant stand slaves who rub the bowl or goblet to their sex. * Modred grins* ... but I dont think there is one thing I look for.

Modred::  My opinion is that she isn't a slave... that she is a subbie that either pretends or wants to play games. She definately isn't submissive enough yet to be a slave.  She is worthless, she is a joke!  A idiot thinking that she is a slave by simply not spelling her name in Cap!  'Words here on Irc are way too valuable to waste, Once said, like a arrow, they cannot be taken back"

Miscellaneous

Question::  Some would say Your actions are crude ..others would call them Gorean ...what would You say are the mannerisms of a Gorean Male ?

Modred::  Yes, I am not loved by many... I would say though crude is subjective. I would say a gorean Male though follows where his heart and soul leads him, being gorean does in no way mean that you are honorable. I believe gorean men love life and will live it to the fullest.

Question::  Do You believe Tarl Cabot to be Gorean?

Modred::  Yes I do. He lived honestly to the one person who was important... himself.

Question::  He was an Earthly Man ..when do You believe He accepted and embraced the Gorean Philosophy?

Modred::  I think it was in Raiders where he went to Port Kar... he finaly grew up and saw Gor realistically at that time he had no compunction to use slaves without mercy and to see his own ends done.

Question::  In Your opinion what makes a Poor Master? (not talking finances)

Modred::  A poor Master is one who would let love cloud his judgment. It is not politically correct to hurt women. On Gor you use women as toys where on earth you would be a rapist. Further love would cloud your judgment... you would not punish a girl for fear of loosing her.

Question::  What is Your opinion of slaves who *hate* the terms "wench", "slut" and find them offensive?

Modred::  It shows that their personal opinion is too important. Just look at some of the names they take in the beggining; lovelyone, alura the list goes on. What do i care if she doesnt like it? She is slave, her purpose is not hers ... it is mine.

Question::  If there was one book out of all the source books You could recommend for a girl to read, what would it be? Why?

Modred::  "Dancer of Gor"... it portrays the slaves point of view from the very beginning... from when her belly started to warm on earth to her life on gor.

Question::  What is Your favorite book? Why?

Modred::  No not Assassins...<g> "Raiders of Gor"... where Tarl Cabot first goes to PortKar. For the first time Tarl thinks for himself.... and doesnt make descisions according to His caste colors.

Question::  Do you feel the qualifications for choosing an online caste such as "Warrior" should be more strict?

Modred::  Not really, there are cases in the books where warriors were strong ... weak, stupid, smart, etc.. There were honorable assassins and dishonorable ones. I think if you want to come to gor you have to let loose earthen conventions... such as being overly kind or protecting women. Gor is not just about killing or adventure. Gor is a fictional world where it is boring as well as exciting. I also add.... how many warriors would one see on a average day in a gorean tavern? Very few. Yet everyone here on irc is filled with swaggering bravos with blood in his eyes. I know of one very respectful gorean who doesnt own a sword. He is a simple tavern keeper.

Question::  Do you think a standardized system of virtual monetary exchange would be a good idea, or a bad one?

Modred::  Why bother?... on gor one gold tarn from one city wouldn't fetch the price of another. How would it be monitered? Would someone keep a virtual bank account? What do you need money for here...<g> I ' have never been charged for a drink or a slave.

Question::  What is your opinion regarding slaves being on more than one net (DALnet, AUSTnet, etc.) even if they are only technically in one channel at one time?

Modred::  Their attention is still divided. I recently kick banned a slave for that... and will continue to do so every time I catch it.

Question::  Which net (DALnet, AUSTnet, etc.) do you feel the most comfortable visiting? Why?

Modred::  I have spent more time on Dal... it is my home. I do find it refreshing to come to austnet and not have to fix every problem known to man.

Question:: It is said that in every female there is a slave, rumor has it that Modred, TheEvil, is out to collar every throat that is a FreeWoman ... Your response?

Modred::  Preposterous! There are a over abundance of slaves to choose from.... that is not to say that I dont like to harras them...<g>  I like ruffling their corsets from time to time,  mostly I find them to be two faced self important wenches.

Question::  Do you feel Freewomen should be allowed in Gorean channels if they are "paga taverns" or other places Gorean freewomen would not typically frequent?

Modred::  I dont think that they belong in a paga tavern. But, it seems like the only Gor channels are paga tavern. I think this is where a adaptation must be made to irc. In the hypothetical Gor there would no FW that dared to go to a paga tavern. I am not saying there should be... I just think that there would be a place for them 

Question:: In the case of a FreeWoman ...how do You feel about those that switch from Free to slave and then back again ??

Modred::  They are a pox on the butt of the comunity, gamers from the get go.   I wont mention names.... like chenoa.

Question::  It has been rumored that "kajirus'" are no longer permitted in the Silk&Steel of which You hold Operator Status, why is that? Does it go back to the philosopy of Men being dominate over females?

Modred::  There were many cases in the books where honorable men were forced into slavery... against their will. However in irc it is all voluntary...men who would bow to a woman, submit to one voluntarily have no place there. To my knowledge they have never been allowed there.
