Joxer's first appearance in Xena: Warrior Princess. He asks to join Xena's army to which she replies, "Get lost!" Seeing that Xena can't recognize his talent he sets out to find Callisto. Callisto agrees to let him join her army if he kidnaps Gabrielle, "the irrating blond." Joxer agrees and goes off in search of Gabrielle. Although he tries his hardest the only thing he gets is a broken nose courtesy of Gabrielle's staff. Gabrielle tries to convince Joxer that he is not a warrior, but she seems to have no affect. Joxer goes back to Calliso emptyed handed finding that Callisto has already captured Gabrielle. She gives Joxer one more chance, if he kills Gabrielle he's in. Joxer tries to convince Callisto that they should keep Gabrielle alive, but Callisto wants her dead. He holds the knife to Gabrielle's throat but finally lets it drop admitting that he can't do it. Callisto captures him saying they'll kill him later. Fortunately Xena bounds in and manages to save everyone, even Callisto.
Joxer Quotes
JOXER: "Now listen--I'm fierce and I have a lust for blood. As a matter of fact, if a couple of days go by and I haven't shed some blood, I get depressed. Blood and me go together like a horse and chariot. I once once bathed in a tub of blood. My nickname is 'Bloody Joxer!"
XENA: You like the sight of blood so much keep talking.
JOXER: "I'm disapointed in you Xena! I thought you'd recognize talent when you saw it! Oh--she must be threatened. I can understand that--what, with my masculine prowess and stuff."
"The rope's burning! So fall a little to the left!"
Disclaimer: Joxer's nose was not harmed during the prodution of this motion picture. However, his cross bow was severely damaged.
