Lament

Forge World

It is clear that millennia ago, long before Mankind ever took to the stars, let alone reached the Corribra Sector, Lament was a world that suffered greatly from immense tectonic activity that must have destroyed any chance of natural life. Today, huge mountain ranges and deep, cavernous ravines scar the world's surface, but any activity in the world seems to have long since ceased.

Lament is a Forge World of the Adeptus Mechanicus that is dedicated to producing only armoured vehicles and heavy weaponry for the Guard Regiments throughout the Sector. The forges themselves use geo-thermal energy to fire their great heat, though the Mechanicus themselves little understand their forebearers use of this technology. Vast shafts plummet miles down from the largest of the forges, straight into the planet core. It is presumed that these incredible structures are remnants of the Dark Age of Technology, as all attempts to copy their construction have ended in disaster as millions of tons of molten magma boils to the surface in each experiment, obliterating all who would try to harness more of the planet's raw power.
