Forge World Galatia

The Forge World of Galatia is the home planet of the Legio Victorum, an Imperial Titan Legion that gained some renown in the war against Hive Fleet Kracken. The planet itself is a harsh place, where volcanoes through lava and ash high into the permanently blackened sky and hordes of men struggle to harness the energy through arcane machinery they barely understand, to fuel the energies needed in the creation of war engines. The Adeptus Mechanicus based on this heavily fortified world produce almost anything from the must humble of Laspistols, through the likes of Leman Russ Battle Tanks, right up to the few remaining examples of Imperator-class Emperor Titans that the Legio Victorum is famed for. The equipment manufactured within the huge factories on this planet goes out to forces throughout the Corribra Sector and even beyond and Guard, Sisters, Fleet, Arbites, even the Dark Angels on occasion, all benefit from this mineral rich resource. After Thesselonia, this is one of the most valuable planets within the Sector and so there is always a major Navy presence here and the Adeptus Mechanicus have their own system of planetary defences, spawned from designs they recovered from thousands of years ago. It is also rumoured that their planetary defences relies on a system of alien technology for its effectiveness, though no unauthorised ships are allowed anywhere near the system. If an attacker was ever to make it past these defences, then they would have to attack the Legio Victorum on their own ground, supported by the huge amount of Imperial and Tech-Guard permanently stationed on the planet. Within minutes of landing, it has been surmised, any invading force would be up to its neck in its own blood, and this reputation has kept Galatia safe for over four thousand years. . .
