Al
Snow - Once known as
a crazy lunatic who carried around a mannequin head (dubbed "HEAD")
to give him orders, Snow has calmed down considerably since then. He's well-known
as a practical joker and the "Clown Prince of Hardcore," and is
often the butt of many jokes by Mick Foley. He can most often be seen these
days as a color commentator on Sunday Night Heat and as a trainer on
the reality show Tough Enough.
Finisher: Snow Plow
Quote: "What did I do to deserve this?"
Titles held: WWF Tag Team Championship, WWF Hardcore Championship,
WWF European Championship
Albert
- Originally known as "Prince Albert," he was most well-known for
his amazingly thick body hair and his numerous piercings. Soon, however, he
dropped the "prince," started wearing a shirt, and became part of
a powerful tag team called T&A with Test. Albert soon turned against Test,
however, and joined forces with X-Pac and Justin Credible to form a stable
called X-Factor. Justin later left the group, and Albert now does his own
thing, hanging out with Scotty 2 Hotty, who has dubbed him the "hip hop
hippo."
Finisher: Baldo Bomb
Quote: "Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!"
Titles held: WWF Intercontinental Championship
Big
Show - By far the biggest
man in the industry, the 7'2", 450-pound Big Show (billed at 500 lbs.)
came to the WWF with a lot of promise and potential, but he squandered it
and wasted it. He did enjoy a brief reign as WWF Champion, but the fans weren't
behind him. He also briefly dropped his badass persona for a more "entertaining"
gimmick, but he dropped that as well after returning from an injury. His size
makes it so he can't move real quick, leading to some dubbing him "the
Big Slow." Make no mistake, he is to be feared.
Finisher: Chokeslam
Quote: "It's definitely gonna be Show-time!"
Titles held: WWF World Championship, WWF Tag Team Championship, WWF
Hardcore Championship, WCW World Championship (as "The Giant"),
WCW Tag Team Championship (as "The Giant")
Billy
Gunn - Often called one
of the best athletes in the WWF, Gunn isn't one of the biggest names in the
industry right now, however. He's been shunted from one gimmick to another
(from part of the Smokin' Gunns, to "Rockabilly," to "Mr. Ass,"
to "The One" Billy Gunn) and no amount of singles glory seems to
spark any interest. He was a King of the Ring, but failed to use it to propel
himself to stardom. This led to his current "bitter" persona, and
his teaming with another WWF underacheiver, Big Show. The two parted ways
fairly soon after, but Gunn found a new partner in fired WCW employee Chuck
Palumbo.
Finishers: Fameasser / The One-and-Only
Titles held: WWF Intercontinental Championship, WWF Tag Team Championship,
WWF Hardcore Champion, 1999
King of the Ring
Billy
Kidman - Kidman made
himself popular in the "old" WCW in the Cruiserweight Division,
and upon his debut during the WCW Invasion, he quickly became one of the few
faces in the organization. In fact, in his first match on WWF TV, Kidman recaptured
the Cruiserweight Championship. He entered into a brief feud with X-Pac until
he injured his leg. After returning from injury, Kidman immediately regained
his lost title, only to lose it to Tajiri. He, like virtually everyone else
in the Alliance, lost his job when it was put out of business.
Finisher: Shooting Star Press
Titles held: WCW Cruiserweight Championship, WCW Tag Team Championship
Booker
T - Booker T was one
of the few popular people on WCW TV before the "old" WCW went out
of business. On WCW's last Nitro broadcast, Booker T even won the WCW
Championship. He dealt some of the first blows of the WCW Invasion, attacking
WWF Champion Stone Cold during the King of the Ring PPV, and Scissors
Kicking Vince McMahon at the end of the next Raw broadcast. Soon however,
he got into a heel role, becoming arrogant and egotistical, entering into
a feud with the returning Rock. Booker T fancies himself the real Most Electrifying
Man in Sports Entertainment, and will do anything he can to prove it. He is
the master of the "dreaded" spin-a-roonie. Although WCW and the
Alliance have been put out of business, Booker T has turned up again, feuding
with former Alliance leader Stone Cold Steve Austin and palling around with
Vince McMahon, eventually getting a contract with the WWF.
Finishers: Scissors Kick / Book End
Quote: "Now can you dig that, sucka?!"
Titles held: WCW World Championship, WCW U.S. Championship, WCW Tag
Team Championship, WWF Tag Team Championship, WCW Television Championship
Major Accolades: Unified WCW World/U.S. Championship, WCW Grand Slam
Championship
Bossman
- A WWF mainstay for many years, he played the mean-spirited authority figure
in his early years, and later a mean-spirited henchman for the authority figure
in his later years. His gimmick is that of a former corrections officer (aka
an ex-prison guard/cop) who likes to beat up people. Thus, the fans absolutely
hate him. He recently turned up again, acting as a bodyguard for Booker T.
Finisher: Bossman Slam
Titles held: WWF Hardcore Championship, WWF Tag Team Championship
Bradshaw
- This beer-swillin', fist-swingin' Texan is slowly becoming a fan favorite,
as part of the APA. His first major gimmick came as one of the Acolytes of
the evil Ministry, along with his partner (and current drinking buddy) Faarooq.
After the Ministry disbanded, they kicked around the tag-team scene for a
while before founding the Acolyte Protection Agency (APA) to keep themselves
in beer money. For a nominal fee ("and... BEER!"), the APA would
either keep your ass from getting kicked, or they would kick someone's ass
for you. This has fast endeared Bradshaw to the fans, as he can quite easily
kick another man's ass.
Finisher:
Clothesline from Hell
Quote: "It's time to get medieval on somebody's ass!"
Titles held: WWF European Championship, WWF Tag Team Championship
Bubba
Ray Dudley - Back in
their old ECW days, Bubba Ray Dudley, along with half-brother and tag-team
partner D-Von Dudley, was one of the biggest heels on the scene, infamous
for verbally ripping the crowd a new asshole. He and D-Von captured the ECW
Tag Team titles a record eight times before coming to the WWF. He was a heel
early on, known for getting a perverse thrill out of putting people (especially
women) through tables. Gradually, however, the fans got behind the Dudleys,
and they became fan favorites. When his pint-sized half-brother Spike showed
up, he looked out for his interests... until Spike started to date Molly Holly,
which didn't sit well with Bubba. He and D-Von turned heel again, and rejoined
ECW as part of the Alliance, where they continue to be a dominant force on
the tag-team scene. After the Alliance was put out of business, the Dudleys,
having secured their place as undisputed tag team champs, were welcomed back
to the WWF, though they continue to be despicable heels.
Finisher: Dudley Death Drop
Quote: "D-Von, get the tables!"
Titles held: WWF Tag Team Championship, WCW Tag Team Championship,
ECW Tag Team Championship
Major Accolades: Tag Team Triple Crown Championship, Undisputed WWF/WCW
Tag Team Championship
Bull
Buchanan - This Georgian
made a quiet debut as a partner to the evil Bossman, a fellow ex-corrections
officer. Buchanan soon made himself known for his large size, but incredible
agility. Soon, however, Buchanan and Bossman parted ways, and Buchanan found
a new home as the enforcer of Steven Richards' Right to Censor brigade. RTC
eventually fell apart, after a long series of losses and internal friction,
and Buchanan was briefly spotted in vignettes during the WCW Invasion, as
a stalwart WWF trooper. He is currently awaiting re-packaging with a new gimmick
while wrestling in OVW.
Finisher: Bicycle kick
Titles held: WWF Tag Team Championship
Chavo
Guerrero, Jr.
- Nephew to former WWF superstar Eddie Guerrero, Chavo
enjoyed some fame as part of Misfits in Action in WCW before it went out of
business. During the Alliance's reign in the WWF, he was a second-tier wrestler,
working Heat and Jakked. He teamed briefly with Hugh Morrus
before he was fired by Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley for going to Vince McMahon
and asking for a job. While he awaits a new storyline angle, he is helping
train the wannabes of Tough Enough 2.
Finisher: Brainbuster
Titles held: WCW Cruiserweight Championship
Chris
Benoit - One of the better-known
stars of the past year, Benoit jumped ship from WCW to the WWF as part of
the Radicalz, and was the first to make himself a champion when he captured
the Intercontinental Championship. Much of that first year, Benoit was caught
in an off-again/on-again feud with Chris Jericho, and was a cold-hearted heel,
living up to his nickname, the Crippler. His ferocity in the ring soon earned
him the moniker the "Rabid Wolverine." He was also the only Radical
to achieve main-event status, with two main-event PPV matches against The
Rock. He is a killer with submissions, and is the undisputed Master of the
German Suplex, having once delivered ten consecutive German Suplexes to Stone
Cold. The fans slowly warmed up to him, and a feud with Kurt Angle launched
his facedom. From that feud, Benoit soon teamed up with Jericho and earned
himself Tag Team gold, and even had a main-event PPV match with Stone Cold
before a neck injury forced him to step out for surgery. In fact, in the course
of one week, Benoit had seven major matches: a 2-of-3 Falls Medals
Match against Kurt Angle (pinfall, submission, ladder), and two Tag Team Turmoil
matches with Chris Jericho against X-Factor and Edge & Christian on Sunday,
a Tag Team Championship Match with Jericho against Stone Cold & Triple
H on Monday, and a TLC Tag Team Championship Match with Jericho against the
Hardys, Dudleys, and Edge & Christian on Tuesday. Benoit has had his surgery,
and is slated to return in February 2002.
Finishers: Crippler Crossface / Swandive

the WWF! Prove me wrong!"

WCW Tag Team Championship, ECW Tag Team Championship
Major Accolades: Tag Team Triple Crown Championship, WCW Grand Slam

Chris
Jericho - Jericho came
to the WWF as "Y2J," intended to be a pretty-boy heel who wanted
to save the WWF from the "boredom" that crippled it, but the fans
reacted so positively to his promos that he became a de-facto face. Jericho
is a well-liked superstar, though many fans believe he's being held back and
not pushed into the main-event tier like he should be. Jericho has had memorable
feuds with many superstars, including Chris Benoit and Triple H. One of his
longest-running feuds, however, has been with Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley.
Jericho takes great joy in humilating and insulting Stephanie (whom Jericho
calls the queen of the filthy, dirty, disgusting, brutal, bottom-feeding trashbag
hos), and never misses a chance. Most recently, he finally overcame his inability
to win the "big one," by defeating The Rock to win the WCW title.
Losing the title to The Rock again, however, drove Jericho over the edge,
and he turned his back on the fans, focusing all his energy on his matches,
not entertainment, and at Vengeance 2001, he cemented his place in
history by becoming the undisputed World Champion.
Finishers: Walls of Jericho / Lionsault /

Chris
Kanyon - Kanyon got a
slow start during the WCW Invasion, being just another face in the crowd,
even in the InVasion PPV, where he was buried in a six-man tag. From
that match, however, Kanyon launched his new gimmick, as a self-centered,
goofy heel who thinks he's better than everyone, as evidenced by his catchphrase:
"Who betta than Kanyon?" He got himself new gold when Booker T handed
the U.S. Championship over to him, though Kanyon has yet to defend it with
any regularity. He is currently coming off a tag-team partnership with DDP.
He, like the rest of the Alliance, lost his job when it went out of business.
Finisher: I'm-Better-Than-You
Quote: "Who betta than Kanyon?"
Titles held: WCW U.S. Championship, WWF Tag Team Championship, WCW
Tag Team Championship
Christian
- Christian came to the WWF as part of the silent and dark Brood, along with
his brother Edge and the vampiric Gangrel, but no one thought much of him
until he and Edge fought a memorable Ladder Match against the Hardy Boyz in
fall 1999. This led to their rise through the tag-team scene, culminating
in their first Tag Team Championship reign at Wrestlemania 2000. This
sparked the big change in their gimmick, from silent and mysterious lurkers
to egotistical and big-mouthed prima donnas. The gimmick worked great, since
E&C treated the fans to funny "five-second poses" and invented
words (like heinosity and ramipercussions). During the course of one year,
from one Wrestlemania to the next, E&C would become the single
greatest tag-team in WWF history, holding the titles a record seven times.
The two then started to seek singles fame, by way of the King of the Ring
tournament, during which a break-up of the team was teased. Finally, the jealousy
and bitterness of his lack of success and his brother's rise made Christian
snap. In September 2001, right in front of their hometown, Christian came
to the ring to fend off chair-weilding heel Lance Storm by bringing a chair
of his own. Christian embraced his brother, handed him his King of the
Ring trophy, then clobbered him with the chair, mockingly kissed the trophy
and dropped it on Edge's ribs, screamed at his brother, then braced Edge face-down
on one chair before delivering a one-man conchairto to his fallen brother.
The team is no more, and Christian teamed with the Alliance until its demise,
whereupon, as "Champion of Europe", he was brought back to the WWF.
Finisher:
Unprettier
Titles held: WWF Intercontinental Championship, WWF European Championship,
WWF Light-Heavyweight Championship, WWF Tag Team Championship
Chuck
Palumbo - Palumbo is
one of the few tag-team competitors in WCW, partnering with Sean O'Haire.
Palumbo has had little screen time outside of matches, thus making it hard
to really apply a gimmick to him. He's a big man, and so uses big man moves,
and seems quite capable of holding his own. When O'Haire was sent to OVW for
seasoning, Palumbo floundered on his own, and prior to the Alliance's demise,
he was fired for questioning the actions of Alliance owners Shane & Stephanie
McMahon. Palumbo was taken under the wing of WWF superstar Billy Gunn, and
has formed a tag team with him.
Finisher: Jungle Kick
Titles held: WCW Tag Team Championship
Crash
- Crash came to the WWF as the pint-sized cousin of Bob "Hardcore"
Holly, who suffered from the same delusion that he was 6'6" and over
400 lbs. When Holly was sidelined due to injury, Crash entered the Hardcore
Division, where he soon captured the Championship and announced he would defend
it anytime, anywhere, 24/7. This led to a series of attacks in the bizzarest
of places, from the hotels to the airports to a Funtime center. And Crash
always managed to either keep his title or win it back and escape, earning
him the moniker of the "Houdini of Hardcore." Soon enough, however,
Crash would lose the title to Steve Blackman and kick around the singles scene,
until Crash managed to win the Light-Heavyweight Championship (so much for
400 lbs., eh?), which he soon lost to Jerry Lynn and never saw again. Crash
has become another jobber-to-the-stars.
Finisher: Crash Course
Titles held: WWF European Championship, WWF Light-Heavyweight Championship,
WWF Hardcore Championship, WWF Tag Team Championship
D'Lo
Brown - Many feel D'Lo
is one of the most underrated wrestlers in the WWF. He proved his own in many
divisions, held multiple titles, but the fans could not seem to get into him.
One of the things which may have worked against D'Lo is the fact that he paralyzed
Droz with a botched powerbomb. D'Lo was given another small push when he teamed
with training partner Chaz and formed a team called Lo Down, but the team's
gimmick was ruined when they enlisted the managerial services of Tiger Ali-Singh,
who put them in turbans and Hindi-themed attire. D'Lo was last seen working
the WWF's developmental territory in Puerto Rico.
Finishers: `Lo Down / Sky Hi
Quote: "You'd better recognize!"
Titles held: WWF Intercontinental Championship, WWF European Championship,
WWF Tag Team Championship
D-Von
Dudley - Along with his
half-brother Bubba Ray, D-Von has been a major player in the WWF tag-team
scene for the past year and a half. D-Von is known for his stiff in-ring style
and his penchant for asking his half-brother to "Testify!" He became
a fan-favorite along with Bubba Ray as the fans started to warm up to the
eight-time ECW Tag Team Champions, and his and Bubba's famous Wassap Drop
always got the fans screaming. He enjoys putting people through tables almost
as much as Bubba, though D-Von doesn't get off on it like Bubba. He turned
heel along with Bubba when they turned against their little half-brother Spike
when Spike linked up with Molly Holly, and then D-Von joined Bubba in the
new ECW as part of the Alliance. When the Alliance met its demise, he and
Bubba were brought back to the WWF, since they were its tag team champions.
Finisher: Dudley Death Drop

Dean
Malenko - Malenko came
to the WWF from WCW as one of the Radicalz, and he's been paid little attention
to in recent months. Malenko was the second one of the group to earn himself
singles gold when he defeated Essa Rios for the Light-Heavyweight Championship,
a title which he held for over a year before he lost it to Crash. Malenko
developed a gimmick for himself as a ladies' man, complete with James Bond-like
entrance music. Malenko lusted after Lita for a while, but soon got the idea
that she didn't like him. Recently, Malenko announced at the Brian Pillman
Memorial event that he may have wrestled his last match. What Malenko is going
to do is still unknown, however, but he currently works as a WWF road agent.
Finisher: Texas Cloverleaf
Titles held: WWF Light-Heavyweight Championship, WCW U.S. Championship,
WCW Cruiserweight Championship, WCW Tag Team Championship, ECW Television
Championship, ECW Tag Team Championship
Diamond
Dallas Page - During
the early stages of the WCW Invasion, DDP became the only heel in the organization
when it was revealed that he was the stalker of the Undertaker's wife, Sara.
He managed to keep himself hated and up-front in people's minds after WCW
suffered a company-wide heel turn by interfering in Undertaker and Kane's
matches, despite the fact that he always got his ass kicked in some form or
another shortly thereafter. Soon, DDP had to work through a knee injury, and
so was buried in a tag-team partnership with Chris Kanyon, losing badly in
a cage match against Undertaker & Kane, and then getting defeated in a
match against Sara (though she had help from `Taker). DDP came off as an absolute
sicko, not only stalking Sara, but even building a shrine to her. DDP has
returned with a creepy new gimmick, that of an always-smiling "motivational
speaker"-type character, Positively Page. He lost his job when the Alliance
went out of business.
Finisher: Diamond Cutter
Quote: "That's not a bad thing, that's a good thing!"
Titles held: WWF Tag Team Championship, WCW World Championship, WCW
U.S. Championship, WCW Tag Team Championship, WCW Television Championship
Major Accolades: WCW Grand Slam Championship
Edge
- Edge got his start in the WWF as a mysterious and lurking man, saying very
little, entering for his matches through the audience. He was originally a
singles' wrestler, but later partnered with his brother Christian, and soon
became a major force in the tag-team division after a memorable Ladder Match
against the Hardy Boyz. E&C captured their first Tag Team Championship
at Wrestlemania 2000, and along with the Hardys and Dudleys, dominated
the tag team scene for the next year. Finally, at Wrestlemania X-Seven,
E&C broke the record and became record-holding, seven-time Tag Team Champions.
They later lost the titles yet again, launching their singles careers. E&C
suffered a great deal of friction within the team as they both competed for
the King of the Ring tournament, which Edge won after defeating Kurt
Angle in the finals. Since then, Edge has continued partnering with Christian,
who doesn't seem quite comfortable with his brother's fame, and even captured
the Intercontinental title for himself. Most recently, however, the highly
successful team of Edge & Christian broke up, as Christian, consumed with
jealousy and bitterness, turned on him, laying him out with a vile one-man
conchairto.
Finisher:
Edgecution DDT
Titles held: WWF Intercontinental Championship, WWF Tag Team Championship,
WCW U.S. Championship, 2001
King of the Ring
Major Accolades: Unified
WWF Intercontinental/WCW U.S. Championship
Faarooq
- This big, brawny, brawling Texas beer-drinker first got fame as the leader
of the Nation of Domination, which he headed until The Rock overshadowed him
and ousted him. Faarooq then came back as an Acolyte of the evil Ministry,
partnered with Bradshaw. When the Ministry broke up, the Acolytes formed the
Acolyte Protection Agency (APA), so as to keep themselves in beer money. For
a nominal fee (or beer), the APA would keep your ass from getting kicked,
or they'd kick someone's ass for you! When the WCW Invasion began, Faarooq
was spotted alongside Bradshaw as a very pro-WWF leader, often leading out
the locker room to chase off WCWers. Unbeknowest to most casual fans, Faarooq
used to wrestle for WCW, under his real name, Ron Simmons, and even held the
WCW Championship.
Finishers: Dominator / Spinebuster Slam
Quote: "Damn!"
Titles held: WWF Tag Team Championship, WCW World Championship (as
"Ron Simmons")
Funaki
- This small Japanese fellow is a member of Kaientai. He has been seen in
the Hardcore Division a few times, but he has largely been a jobber-to-the-stars.
Kaientai then began a hilarious new gimmick, in which their lack of skills
in the English language was overcome -- by way of Kung Fu-esque dubbing. Taka
Michinoku does most of the talking, while Funaki punctuates with the occasional,
"InDEED!"
Quote: "InDEED!"
Titles held: WWF Hardcore Championship
The
Goodfather - The Goodfather
was originally known as the Godfather, a pimp who was always accompanied by
several fine-looking women, his "hos." His pre-match spiel, while
constant, was a fan-favorite. ("It's time, once again, for everybody
to come aboard the Ho Train! Now I want everybody to roll a fatty for this
pimp daddy, light that mother up and say it out loud -- pimpin' ain't easy!")
Soon, however, Godfather ran afoul of the Right to Censor, who forced Godfather
to fight a match: if he won, then RTC could never bother him again, but if
he lost, he would have to give up the pimping life. Godfather lost, only to
return a week later... as the Goodfather, a full-fledged member of RTC. RTC
eventually broke up amongst in-fighting, but Goodfather could be seen backstage
during the WCW Invasion as a stalwart pro-WWF wrestler. He is currently awaiting
re-packaging with a new gimmick.
Finisher: Ex-Pimp Drop
Titles held: WWF Tag Team Championship, WWF Intercontinental Championship
Haku
- Haku was part of the
WWF in the `80s and early 90s before leaving for WCW, where he wrestled sometimes
as Meng, even being the last WCW Hardcore Champion before he left for the
WWF again. (WCW then simply "retired" the belt.) Haku linked up
immediately with Rikishi and went after Undertaker & Kane, but when Rikishi
was sidelined due to injury, Haku simply disappeared again to dark matches
and Jakked/Metal tapings. Haku's gimmick was that of a crazy-haired
Tongan wildman, possessing little skills with English and a very hard head.
(Haku once no-sold a chairshot directly to the head.) Most recently, he's
been seen in the WCW Invasion as a pro-WWF supporter.
Finisher: Tongan Death Grip
Quote: "Eeeeeyah!"
Titles held: WWF Tag Team Championship, WCW Hardcore Championship (as
"Meng")
Hardcore
Holly - Bob Holly first
got a name for himself as a somewhat delusional "Big Shot," believing
himself to be 6'6" and well over 400 lbs. He would challenge anybody
and everybody to a match, regardless of how good a chance he stood. He soon
fell out of singles competition when he brought in his cousin Crash to be
a tag-team partner. Holly and Crash eventually parted ways again, and Holly
fought in the Hardcore and Intercontinental Divisions for a while. Then, in
a match with Kurt Angle, Holly's arm was broken in a botched moonsault and
he was sidelined for a couple months. When he returned, he entered into a
brief feud with William Regal before fading away for a while. Holly returned
again to become an ardently pro-WWF supporter in the WCW Invasion, but he
has been relegated to matches on Sunday Night Heat. He is currently
out rehabbing his arm, which had a plate removed. While he works on this,
he is training the wannabes of Tough Enough 2.
Finisher: Alabama Slam
Quote: "How d'ya like me now?"
Titles held: WWF Intercontinental Championship, WWF Hardcore Championship,
WWF Tag Team Championship
Hugh
Morrus - Hugh Morrus wrestled for a while in WCW as General Hugh
G. Rection, leader of the Misfits in Action. Eventually, M.I.A. broke up and
Hugh went to wrestle as the "Laughing Man" Hugh Morrus (Hugh-morrus,
humorous, get it?), being somewhat popular. He was the second WCWer to make
a run-in, delivering his trademark No Laughing Matter moonsault to Edge in
the midst of a match. Since then, he's wrestled very little, being buried
in a six-man tag at the InVasion PPV, and being squashed in what few
matches he's had. Shortly before the Alliance went out of business, he was
fired for daring to ask Vince McMahon for a job.
Finisher: No Laughing Matter
Titles held: WCW U.S. Championship (as "General Hugh G. Rection")
The
Hurricane - Shane Helms was known better in the "old"
WCW's Cruiserweight Division, holding the Cruiserweight title when the "old"
WCW went out of business. In his first match on WWF TV, however, Helms lost
that title to fan-favored Billy Kidman. What really hurt Helms, however, was
two inexplicable changes in his gimmick, first by redubbing him Gregory Helms
(probably out of deference to WCW owner Shane McMahon), then as Hurricane
Helms. Helms isn't a killer on the mike (he opens his mouth and hick falls
out), and the recent trend he's had for talking about his favorite superhero,
Green Lantern (he's even got a GL tattoo on his shoulder), hasn't helped any.
This has even segued into his dressing up as a superhero and posing as one.
Gradually, the deluded so-called superhero grew popular with the fans. Most
recently, he lost his job when the Alliance was put out of business; however,
WWF co-owner Ric Flair rehired The Hurricane, since there was a lack of "superheroes"
in the WWF.
Finisher: Eye of the Hurricane
Quote: "Stand back! There's a Hurricane comin' through!"
Titles held: WCW Cruiserweight Championship, WWF European Champion
Ivory
- Ivory was a fairly
dominant force in the WWF Women's Division for a while, but the gimmick which
got her back in the public eye as a hated heel was as the sole female member
of Right to Censor. She was the group's main mouthpiece behind leader Steven
Richards, and was quite vocal in her objections to Chyna's nude pictorial
in Playboy magazine. She won the Women's title off of Lita, and was
instrumental in the neck injury that sidelined Chyna for a couple months.
Finally, at Wrestlemania X-Seven, Chyna got her revenge on Ivory, taking
the title off of her, and soon Ivory fell out of public view as RTC fractured.
She recently resurfaced, having defected to the WCW/ECW Alliance, where she
serves as a mentor, of sorts, to WCW Divas Stacy Keibler and Torrie Wilson.
Currently, while the Alliance has been put out of business, she is a trainer
on Tough Enough 2.
Finisher: DDT
Titles held: WWF Women's Champion
Jacqueline
- Jackie was a somewhat major force in the Women's Division for a while before
she faded into obscurity. She regained some attention when she started to
accompany fellow Texans the APA to the ring for matches, and regained more
as a trainer on the WWF reality show Tough Enough.
Finisher: Tornado DDT
Titles held: WWF Women's Championship
Jazz
- Originally
hailing from ECW, Jazz is widely considered to be one of the best women wrestlers
around. Indeed, in ECW, she was not afraid to mix it up with the guys. After
ECW went out of business, Jazz mostly worked the independents, until she was
brought into the Alliance for one night only, fighting as part of a six-pack
challenge for the WWF Women's Championship. Jazz lost the match, and the Alliance
went out of business that very night. Then, however, she signed with the WWF
and made her presence known by attacking both Women's Champion Trish Stratus
and Mighty Molly. Jazz is very serious, and not to be underestimated.
Finisher: Fisherman's DDT
Jeff
Hardy - The more daring
of the Hardy Boyz, Jeff is known for his... unique ring attire (basically
whatever shirt he feels like wearing, some cut-up pantyhose as gloves) and
his multi-colored hair. Many have likened him to Shawn Michaels... in that
he's going to end his career before he turns 30 due to the daredevil antics
he performs. Jeff apparently has no regard for his own safety, especially
when performing his trademark Swanton Bomb, a flipping senton onto his opponent
from on high. Chicks dig him, though, if the feminine squeals that emanate
from the audience when he removes his shirt are any indication. Recently,
his passion for the high-flying spot has led to the breakup of the Hardys,
since some missed Swanton Bombs have cost the Hardys several matches.
Finisher: Swanton Bomb
Titles held: WWF Intercontinental Championship, WWF Hardcore Championship,
WWF Light-Heavyweight Championship, WWF Tag Team Championship, WCW Tag Team

Jerry
Lawler
- "The King" has returned to the WWF at last!
The WWF's main color commentator for several years, Lawler is known for his
exuberance and heelish remarks. He especially has a preference for "puppies"
(aka women's breasts). He was married in real life to WWF diva Stacy "The
Kat" Carter, but when she was inexplicably fired from the WWF, he walked
out in protest. His position was filled by Paul Heyman and Tazz, but when
the Alliance was put out of business, Lawler was brought back to rejoin his
comrade Jim Ross.

Jerry
Lynn - Another little-known
wrestler in the WWF, Lynn got his start in ECW in a memorable feud with Rob
Van Dam over the ECW Television title. Lynn was picked up by the WWF, and
in his very first WWF match, Lynn defeated Crash for the Light-Heavyweight
Championship. Unfortunately, the fans failed to get behind Lynn at all (as
face or heel), and he soon lost the title to Jeff Hardy. Since then, he's
been spotted occasionally amidst the pro-WWF supporters during the WCW Invasion,
and in a Hardcore title match against Rob Van Dam.
Finisher: Spinning DDT
Titles held: WWF Light-Heavyweight Championship, ECW World Championship
Jim
Ross - Good ol' J.R.
is most often seen on WWF TV as the play-by-play commentator on Raw
and during PPVs. Ross' actual job is Vice President of Talent Relations, meaning
he helps hire wrestlers and such. He also writes a weekly column on WWF.com
in which he issues injury reports and his thoughts on WWF prospective talents
and storylines. If you're wondering why his face seems frozen, it's because
he has Bell's palsy, and it's paralyzed part of his face. It doesn't stop
him from doing a great job at the commentators' table.
Quote: "Good God Almighty!"
Justin
Credible - Justin was
briefly in the WWF before he made a name for himself in ECW... but Justin's
early WWF gimmick was "Aldo Montoya, Man-of-War," and wore a mask
that looked more like a yellow jockstrap than anything else. In ECW, Justin
was a hated heel, egotistical and proud of it. He eventually jumped ship to
the WWF, where he linked up with former Clique friend X-Pac to form X-Factor,
but Justin soon fell out of favor with the group when both X-Pac and Albert
earned themselves singles gold. Justin parted ways and rejoined ECW as part
of the Alliance, where he's mostly been seen backstage. He lost his job when
the Alliance went out of business.

Kane
- The seven-foot monster is the half-brother of the Undertaker, horribly burned
in a fire that killed his mother and left his face hideously scarred, hence
the mask. Kane was brought to the WWF by Paul Bearer, erstwhile manager of
`Taker (and father to Kane!), in order to exact his revenge. Kane and Taker
have had many feuds and partnerships. He originally exhibited little emotion
and never spoke except with the aid of a speech box, but after becoming friends
and partners with X-Pac and forming a romance with Tori, Kane began to come
out of his shell, only to be burned, emotionally, by the betrayal of first
X-Pac, then Tori. This led to Kane's eventual realization of his own monstrousness,
leading to his most recent feud with Taker. The two then joined forces again
to become a dominant force on the tag-team scene, and Kane can now hold a
full-length conversation, though he still speaks little.

WWF Hardcore Championship, WWF Tag Team Championship, WCW Tag Team Championship
Major Accolades: Unified
WWF/WCW Tag Team Championship, WWF Triple Crown Championship
Kurt
Angle - You may have
seen Angle on TV before he came to the WWF, since he won the gold medal in
the 1996 Olympics for freestyle wrestling. Debuting in November 1999, Angle
enjoyed an undefeated streak that lasted until January 2000, then made a meteoric
rise in the WWF, first becoming a "Euro-Continental" Champion by
capturing both European and Intercontinental gold, then won the 2000 King
of the Ring tournament. Finally, in October 2000, less than a year after
he debuted, Angle won the WWF Championship, completing the single greatest
rookie year in WWF history. Angle, as a wholesome, egotistical, and pro-American
Olympian, was hated by the fans for being exactly those things, though his
skill and talent were undeniable. Angle finally made a gradual turn to facedom
as he recuperated from injury during July, through a series of vignettes with
Stone Cold that allowed Angle to showcase his humorous side. Finally, when
Stone Cold turned on the WWF and joined the WCW/ECW Alliance, Angle stepped
forward to become the WWF's leader, and the fans wholeheartedly accepted him.
Angle has shown a level of intensity and ferocity unmatched in recent weeks,
and comes off as damn near unstoppable. Angle had the honor of ending the
maniacal Stone Cold's WWF title reign at Unforgiven 2001, right in
his hometown of Pittsburgh. Three weeks later, Angle was screwed out of the
championship by turncoat William Regal and lost the title to Austin again,
and a few weeks later, Angle shocked the world by defecting to join the Alliance
prior to Survivor Series 2001, stating he wanted to be on the winning
team. This turned out to be a ruse, however, as during the Winner Take All
main event, Angle ran out and attacked Alliance leader Stone Cold Steve Austin,
costing him the match and putting the Alliance out of business.
Finishers: Angleslam / Angle Lock

Titles held: WWF World Championship, WWF Intercontinental Championship,
WWF European Championship, WWF Hardcore Championship, WCW World Championship,
WCW U.S. Championship
Lance
Storm - Storm,
a major member of the WCW/ECW Alliance, has wrestled in both organizations.
In ECW, Storm was a member of the Impact Players along with Justin Credible,
and in WCW, he was given the gimmick of a very pro-Canadian heel, who demanded
attention prior to his promos by saying, "I'd like to be serious for
a minute." He'd demand people rise for the Canadian national anthem,
formed a faction called Team Canada, and upon capturing three singles titles
(at once), rechristened all of them along Canadian themes (the U.S. Heavyweight
title to the Canadian Heavyweight title, the Hardcore title to the Saskatchewan
Hardcore International title, and the Crusierweight title to the Canadian
100 kg-and-under title). The fans in the U.S. hated him even as the fans in
Canada cheered him. He was the first WCWer to make a run-in during a WWF match,
Superkicking Perry Saturn. He later rejoined ECW, but remained part of the
Alliance. He lost his job when the Alliance went out of business, and was
forced to become a busboy at WWF New York. After pestering WWF co-owner Ric
Flair for a job incessantly, Storm finally won a spot in the WWF by defeating
The Rock in a match... admittedly, it was by count-out, but he still won.
Finishers: Maple Leaf / Superkick
Quote: "I'd like to be serious for a minute."
Titles held: WWF Intercontinental Championship, WCW U.S. Championship,
WCW Cruiserweight Championship, WCW Hardcore Championship, ECW Tag Team Championship
Major Accolades: Unified WCW U.S./Cruiserweight/Hardcore Championship
Linda McMahon - Linda is far from a wrestler: she's the CEO of the company. She doesn't appear on TV that often, and those appearances she does make showcase how little acting ability she really has. She's often worked counter to the wishes of her husband, Vince McMahon, foiling his plans and showing up just when necessary to ruin his plotting. Most recently, she's been involved in a "divorce" angle with Vince, stemming from December 2000, when a frustrated and angry Vince screamed at her for a divorce, giving her a nervous breakdown and sending her into catatonia, which Vince was only too happy to prolong by forcing her doctor to keep her drugged. This allowed Vince to fool around with Trish Stratus until he tired of her and humiliated her on national television. Trish then appeared to return to Vince in submission, but it was all a ruse devised by Trish and Linda to give Linda the opportunity to kick Vince where it counts -- not just in the gonads (which she did at Wrestlemania X-Seven), but in the checkbook. Vince, who had halted the divorce proceedings when Linda went catatonic, was shocked when Linda demanded a divorce from him. When the WCW Invasion started, however, Linda gave Vince a breather by halting the proceedings so Vince could concentrate on stopping WCW. She hasn't been seen since then, but she could pop up at any time.
Lita
- The lovely Lita is undoubtedly the most dominant female in the WWF Women's
Division since Chyna left TV. First seen as a valet for Essa Rios, she was
dumped by Rios and rescued by the Hardy Boyz. She and the Hardys became a
fabulous combination, as their high-flying and extreme styles meshed perfectly.
She got especially well-liked when she managed to wrest the WWF Women's title
from the hands of Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, who had won the title under
duplicitous means and refused to put it on the line. Lita broke a lot of amorous
young men's hearts when she became the girlfriend of Matt Hardy, but she's
still largely popular. She's become even more popular now that she's garnered
sympathy from the fans when a jealous and bitter Matt Hardy (who was upset
over his brother's continued daredevil antics and his team's lack of recent
success) broke up with her.
Finisher: Moonsault
Titles held: WWF Women's Championship
Matt
Hardy - The older of
the two Hardy Boyz, Matt comes off as the leader of "Team Xtreme,"
and has had the more successful singles career, as he's held his title the
longest. Matt lets his fighting do the talking, which is a good thing, since
he's not exactly a wiz on the mike. Matt is recognizable by his dark hair
and his usual ring attire, which is often a dark t-shirt and pants and cut-up
pantyhose for gloves. Despite the fact that he broke a lot of young girls'
hearts when he hooked up with Lita, he still gets those girlish squeals when
he pulls his shirt off. Matt launched his singles career by winning the European
Championship in late April, and held onto it until early September, when he
lost it to WCWer The Hurricane. Most recently, however, Matt has become bitter
and jealous, since his team has not been winning many matches, due in part
to Jeff's constant need to go for the high spot. He broke up with Lita and
his brother, going off on his own.
Finisher: Twist of Fate
Titles held: WWF European Championship, WWF Hardcore Championship,
WWF Tag Team Championship, WCW Tag Team Championship
Mick
Foley - One of the WWF's
most beloved superstars, Foley gave blood, sweat, and tears for almost 10
years before he made it to the WWF, wrestling primarily as Cactus Jack until
he made it. His first WWF gimmick was the deranged Mankind, a masked psychopath
who lurked in the boiler room. The fans weren't really behind him for a while,
though he sort of grew on them. Foley soon also got to wrestle as Dude Love,
a `70s throwback, exactly as he'd fantasied as a teenager. And eventually,
the psychotic and dangerous Cactus Jack made it to the WWF as well. Foley
was known for his goofiness and especially for Mr. Socko, a sock puppet that
he used in tandem with his finisher, the Mandible Claw, to incapacitate his
opponents (either by paralysis or the smell). Foley is famous for being the
first Hardcore Champion in the WWF. Foley got especially famous after an infamous
Hell in a Cell match as Mankind against the Undertaker in June 1998. The match
nearly killed Foley, as he took two major bumps off the top of the cell, the
first through the Spanish announce table, and the second a chokeslam through
the top of the cage to the mat below. Ironically, it would be a second Hell
in a Cell match as Cactus Jack against Triple H that would end his career,
as he lost the match and was forced to retire. Foley would return only four
months later, however, as the WWF Commissioner, before he was fired by Vince
McMahon in December 2000. Foley popped up from time to time, counted on to
humiliate the heels and get huge ovations and cheap pops. More recently, when
William Regal defected to the Alliance, Foley was hired by Linda McMahon to
be the new commissioner once again! However, frustration with WWF brass over
storylines and his role, Foley resigned rather than be fired by Vince when
the Alliance went out of business.
Finishers: Mandible Claw / Double-arm DDT
Quote: "Have a nice day!"
Titles held: WWF World Championship, WWF Tag Team Championship, WWF
Hardcore Championship, WWF Commissioner, WCW Tag Team Championship (as "Cactus
Jack"), ECW Tag Team Championship (as "Cactus Jack")
Major Accolades: Tag Team Triple Crown Championship
Mike
Awesome - Awesome got
his start in ECW before eventually going to WCW, where he got saddled with
one dumb gimmick after another, chief amongst them "That `70s Guy."
He's a big man, and so uses big man moves, such as his finisher, the Awesome
Bomb. He was the first WCWer to win himself a WWF title, attacking Hardcore
Champion Rhyno backstage and forcing a ref to make the three-count. He eventually
lost it to Jeff Hardy, and was then buried in tag-team matches, and hasn't
seen much TV time since. He lost his job when the Alliance went out of business.
Finisher: Awesome Bomb
Titles held: WWF Hardcore Championship, ECW World Championship, ECW
Tag Team Championship
Mighty
Molly - This bubbly blond
bombshell is the cousin to Bob "Hardcore" Holly and Crash. Crash
brought her to the WWF in the midst of a feud he was having with T&A,
which meant he often ran into Trish. Since Crash didn't believe in hitting
a girl, he had Molly come to even the odds a bit. She apparently suffers from
the Holly delusion as well (she once claimed she was "275 pounds, all
muscle"). She grew to major attention when she became the girlfriend
of Spike Dudley, a relationship which didn't sit well with either family.
She and Spike don't care, however, and have parted ways with both of their
families to be with each other, and even eschewed a membership in the WCW/ECW
Alliance to stay together. Soon, however, superhero-delusional The Hurricane
propositioned her as a sidekick, and after taking a shot to the head, Hurricane
swept her away, and when she returned, she had donned pink and redubbed herself
"Mighty Molly." She returned to the WWF with The Hurricane when
he was hired by Ric Flair.
Finisher: Molly-Go-Round
Quote: "Holy sidekicks!"
Paul E. Heyman - Heyman was the owner of the "old" ECW... or as much of an owner as anybody was. His company went out of business, and he came to the WWF as color commentator on Raw is War and PPVs when Jerry Lawler left the company. Heyman is known as the "Mad Scientist of Sports Entertainment," due to his crazy attitude, loud volume, and intense creativity. Then, in the midst of the WCW Invasion, he rallied ten wrestlers around him, and announced the rebirth of ECW under himself and Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley... which promptly joined forces with WCW to form the Alliance. Heyman was a mouthpiece for a while before he was reinstalled as color commentator. He lost his job when the Alliance was put out of business at Survivor Series 2001, was hired again the following night, then promptly fired by Vince McMahon to pave the way for the return of Jerry "the King" Lawler.
Perry
Saturn - Saturn came
to the WWF from WCW along as part of the Radicalz, and he was one of the slowest
to adapt. He kicked around the Hardcore Division for a while, where his unique
ferocity worked well, but the fans failed to get behind him. It wasn't until
he got the managerial services of Terri that he started to go places, winning
the European title. He soon got lost in the shuffle again as he rejoined the
Radicalz. What has finally won him over, however, was an angle that began
after King of the Ring 2001, in which Saturn took a series of shots
to the head, which killed many of his brain cells. Saturn first started spouting
outrageous non-sequiturs ("Puppies eat oranges to save the ozone layer"
"Underroos are fun to wear") and punctuating his sentences with
"You're welcome." Then, he started carrying a mop to the ring, braiding
its "hair" and gluing a face to it, calling it "Moppy."
Terri, who had gone fed up somewhat with his bizarre behavior, asked him to
choose her or the mop, so Saturn chose Moppy. Moppy was later abducted by
Terri and Raven, and shoved into a wood chipper. Recently, Saturn's gone back
to his intense, hardcore competitor gimmick.
Finishers: Rings of Saturn / Moss-Covered
Three-Handled Family Credenza
Quote: "You're welcome."
Titles held: WWF European Championship, WWF Hardcore Championship,
WCW Television Championship, WCW Tag Team Championship, ECW Tag Team Championship
Raven
- Raven was a major heel in both ECW and WCW, a master manipulator and a genius
at mind games. He was intense in ECW's hardcore style. He joined the WWF in
September 2000, joining forces with former ECWer Tazz for a time before parting
ways and entering the Hardcore Division, where he captured the title. He held
onto the title for quite some time, especially with the help of a masked Ninja
(who would later be revealed to be Tori). His physique isn't all that great
to look at (one reason why I believe he should wrestle with a shirt on). He
defected to ECW as part of the Alliance, but has been losing matches. Most
recently, he broke from the party line and challenged ECWer (and WWF Hardcore
Champion) Rob Van Dam to a title match. What this means is anyone's guess.
He lost his job when the Alliance was put out of business.
Finisher: Raven Effect DDT
Quote: "What about me? What about Raven?"
Titles held: WWF Hardcore Championship, WCW U.S. Championship, WCW
Tag Team Championship, ECW World Championship, ECW Tag Team Championship
Rhyno
- Rhyno was known as the "Rookie Monster" in ECW, capturing both
the ECW Championshp and ECW Television title to unify them. When ECW went
belly-up, Rhyno joined the WWF and linked up with Edge & Christian, assisting
them in winning matches and especially in helping E&C win the WWF Tag
Team titles for the record seventh time. He's been a dominant force in the
singles divisions, especially the Hardcore Division, where his intense style
helps him win matches, along with his charging shoulder tackle, the Gore.
(Or the "GORE! GORE! GORE!" as Paul Heyman puts it.) He defected
to ECW as part of the Alliance and is one of the most capable competitors
there. Shortly before Survivor Series 2001, Rhyno was suspended indefinitely,
so in real life he could get neck surgery. He is expected to be out for upwards
of six months to a year.
Finisher: Gore
Titles held: WWF Hardcore Championship, WCW U.S. Championship, ECW
World Championship, ECW Television Championship
Major Accolades: Unified ECW World/Television Championship
Ric
Flair -
Any true wrestling fan has heard of the Nature Boy. Widely considered to be
one of the greatest in-ring performers of all time, Flair was "The Man"
in NWA (later called WCW), where he earned himself a reputation as the dirtiest
player in the game. Flair has held a world championship fourteen times! Although
way past his prime, Flair has been known to put on his wrestling gloves and
work a couple of matches now and then. Flair was surprisingly absent during
the WCW/ECW Invasion -- his last appearance was on the final broadcast of
WCW Nitro, where he lost to longtime rival Sting. But the reason for
his absence became clear after the Alliance went out of business. Shane and
Stephanie McMahon had sold their WWF stock to a consortium... a consortium
called Nature Boy! Now 50% owner of the WWF, Flair flaunts his newfound power
in front of his business partner Vince McMahon, foiling his nefarious plans
and quickly winning over the fans. Flair and McMahon are already tense with
each other, and it's only a matter of time before they come to blows.

Titles held: WCW World Championship, WWF World Championship, WCW U.S.

Rikishi
- Rikishi, the Phat Man, became a fan-favorite as the partner of the dancing
team Too Cool, often joining in their post-match celebration. He was known
for squashing his opponents with the Banzai Drop, and humiliating them with
the Stink Face (in which he rubs his massive ass in their face). Rikishi abruptly
turned heel in October 2000, when it was revealed he was the driver of the
car that ran down Stone Cold, though he did it at the orders of Triple H.
Rikishi remained a heel through February 2001, partnering with fellow Islander
Haku and going after Undertaker & Kane before being sidelined with injury.
Upon his return, Rikishi abruptly turned face again, refusing to do the bidding
of Vince McMahon, but was soon shelved again with a shoulder injury. He recently
returned again so he could help The Rock humiliate Vince McMahon.
Finishers: Banzai Drop / Stink Face
Titles held: WWF Intercontinental Championship
Rob
Van Dam - Rob Van Dam
is one of the most popular wrestlers in ECW. He has a loose, high-flying,
and spot-oriented style, and his memorable feud with Jerry Lynn over the ECW
Television title (which RVD held onto for almost two years) earned him several
monikers: "Mr. Monday Night," "Mr. Pay-Per-View," and
"The Whole Dam Show." RVD captured the WWF Hardcore title from Jeff
Hardy at the InVasion PPV, and remained undefeated for almost a month
before Jeff took the title back, only to lose it to RVD again at Summerslam.
RVD remains popular, and after the Alliance went out of business at Survivor
Series 2001, he was brought to the WWF, since he was still Hardcore Champion.
Finishers: Fivestar Frog Splash / Van Daminator
Quote: "I'm the Whole Fuckin' Show, Rob - Van - Dam."
Titles held: WWF Hardcore Championship, ECW Television Championship,
ECW Tag Team Championship
Major Accolades: 23-month ECW Television Championship reign
The
Rock - If you don't know
who The Rock is, you must be blind and deaf. Debuting in 1997, Rocky Maivia
was billed as a wholesome, smiling face, but the fans reviled him. Nothing
he did could win them over, not even an Intercontinental title reign. Everything
he did earned "Rocky Sucks!" chants. When he returned from an injury
and abruptly turned heel and joined Faarooq's Nation of Domination, Rocky
finally earned his hatred, redubbing himself "The Rock." Soon, however,
the fans warmed up to him, what with his unique ring style, his fantastic
promos, and dynamic finisher, the Rock Bottom. The fans were begging for a
reason to cheer him, but he turned on them, joining Vince McMahon's Corporation,
but even that was only delaying the inevitable. Soon, Rock lost favor with
the Corporation and became a true face. He was the biggest draw in
the business while Stone Cold was injured, and is a record-setting six-time
WWF Champion. Then, after Wrestlemania X-Seven, when Stone Cold turned
heel and allied with Vince McMahon, Rock was abruptly suspended indefinitely
by McMahon... which was really an excuse for Rock to go make movies in Hollywood.
But after Stone Cold turned his back on the WWF to join the WCW/ECW Alliance,
Vince called The Rock back, desparately needing someone to lead the WWF. Rock
obliged, and soon got tangled in a feud with WCW Champion Booker T, who was
envious of The Rock's success, and a match at Summerslam earned Rock
the WCW Championship.
Finishers: Rock Bottom / People's Elbow
Quote: "If ya smell-lalalalalalalalaowww what The Rock is cookin'!!"
Titles held: WWF World Championship, WCW World Championship, WWF Intercontinental
Championship, WWF Tag Team Championship
Major Accolades: WWF Triple Crown Championship
Scotty
2 Hotty - Scotty became
a fan-favorite as part of the dancing tag-team Too Cool along with Grand Master
Sexay. They were known for dancing after their matches, and Scotty especially
was known for his finisher, the Worm. While the Worm isn't deadly (indeed,
it's the most ridiculous finisher known to man), it does get the crowd fired
up. Scotty was sidelined due to injury (neck problem, but the storyline was
a broken ankle courtesy of an enraged Kurt Angle), and during that time his
partner Sexay was released by the WWF amidst drug charges. Upon his return,
Scotty immediately became a favorite again, though he has yet to get involved
in a serious angle. Recently, he's teamed up with Albert.
Finisher: The Worm
Titles held: WWF Tag Team Championship, WWF Light-Heavyweight Championship
Sean
O'Haire - O'Haire is
one of the few tag-team competitors in WCW, partnering with Chuck Palumbo.
O'Haire, distinctive due to his intense look and hairstyle, has had little
screen time outside of matches, thus making it hard to really apply a gimmick
to him. He's a big man, and so uses big man moves, and seems quite capable
of holding his own. He's been sent to the WWF "minor leagues" in
OVW for seasoning.
Finisher: Seanton Bomb
Titles held: WCW Tag Team Championship
Shane
McMahon - Shane has been
a heel for much of his career. He's turned on virtually everybody, and is
exactly as underhanded as his father is rich. He's famous for his unique promos
on his opponents (in which he sometimes rhymes), and just as famous for his
willingness to take bumps the likes of which even Mick Foley or Jeff Hardy
wouldn't dare. He's done Savage elbows through tables, he's done falls off
the top of the Titantron structure, he's even done a Van-Terminator dropkick
to a trashcan. His most recent angle has been a feud with his father, Vince
McMahon. The feud started as fury against his father's fooling around with
Trish Stratus while Linda McMahon was comatose, and Shane stepped it up a
notch when he bought a failing WCW right out from under Vince's nose. Shane
continued to hang around, teasing WCW's return, which it started to do prior
to King of the Ring, in the form of a series of run-in attacks. Finally,
Shane declared the WCW would invade the WWF, and then the company suffered
an organization-wide heel turn when Shane revealed that a leopard can't change
its spots, after all. He joined forces with his sister Stephanie, who bought
ECW, and the two merged their companies to form the Alliance, which went out
of business at Survivor Series 2001. Shane humbly accepted his defeat
and walked away.
Finisher: Savage elbow
Titles held: WCW Chairman, WWF Hardcore Championship, WWF European

Shawn
Michaels - Shawn Michaels,
the Heartbreak Kid, was a WWF fan-favorite for several years, being the first
man to capture the title of Grand Slam Champion, having held all the WWF singles
titles (with the exception of the Hardcore title) as well as the Tag Team
title. Finally, injuries forced HBK to retire from wrestling, but he came
back as the WWF Commissioner. Soon, he stepped down from that position as
well, passing the hat to Mick Foley. Since then, he's been seen only once,
but remains in the background, awaiting an eventual match or two, as soon
as the WWF creative team can come to an agreement with him.
Finisher: Sweet Chin Music
Titles held: WWF World Championship, WWF Intercontinental Championship,
WWF European Championship, WWF Tag Team Championship, WWF Commissioner
Major Accolades: WWF Grand Slam Championship
Shawn
Stasiak - Stasiak did
wrestle in the WWF once, but he was saddled with the lame gimmick of "Meat."
In one of his final matches, he actually lost to Kurt Angle in the Olympian's
WWF debut. He left for WCW, where he emulated Mr. Perfect, and earned the
moniker "Mecca of Manhood" from Stacy Keibler. When the WCW Invasion
began, he was at first just another face in the crowd, but recently, he's
been given a goofy gimmick. After being told by WWF (turncoat) Champion and
Alliance member Stone Cold that he had enormous potential, Stasiak became
obsessed with proving himself, so he attacks WWFers blindly, often running
into walls or inanimate objects, and getting squashed when he does get in
a match with someone. He still gets chants of "MEAT!" He lost his
job when the Alliance went out of business.
Finisher: Fisherman's Suplex
Titles held: WCW Tag Team Championship
Spike
Dudley - Spike was a
fan-favorite in ECW, as the pint-sized runt of the Dudley litter. Being only
5'6" and 150 lbs., Spike isn't an intimidating specimen. He earned his
name by taking the most colossal beatings, but getting up to fight another
day. The fans appreciated his tenacity. Spike made a surprise WWF debut after
ECW went belly-up, assisting his half-brothers Bubba Ray and D-Von in recapturing
the WWF Tag Team titles. He accompanied his brothers for quite some time until
he became the boyfriend of Molly Holly, which did not sit well with either
the Dudleys or the Hollys. He broke his leg in the midst of a match with his
brothers, sidelining him for a few weeks. When he returned, Paul Heyman offered
him a spot in the WCW/ECW Alliance, but Spike refused so as to stay with Molly.
He's still hanging around, partnering with the Big Show, of all people.
Finisher: Dudley Dogg
Titles held: WWF Tag Team Championship, ECW Tag Team Championship
Stacy Keibler - Stacy Keibler has a set of legs to die for. She was the third WCWer to make a "run-in" (of sorts), accompanying Shane McMahon to ringside and distracting Rhyno, allowing Test to defeat him to win the Hardcore title. Since then, she's seen very little ring action (no surprise, since she's not a wrestler), and has shown very little acting talent. She's a piece of eye candy, nothing more. Most recently, she's begun managerial duties for Shawn Stasiak, and later the Dudleys, prompting Paul Heyman to dub her the "Duchess of Dudleyville." When the Dudleys were brought to the WWF as its tag team champs after the Alliance went out of business, she came along.
Stephanie
McMahon-Helmsley - Ah,
Stephanie, the Billion Dollar Princess. She was an innocent young girl who
the fans sympathized with as she tried to stand up against her father and
brother's machinations. Then, as she was affianced to Test, she was "abducted"
by Triple H and married to him while she was unconscious. She duped her father
into thinking she didn't want that, but in actuality it was her way of getting
revenge on her father. She and Triple H became hated heels and ran the WWF
their own way as a broken Vince disappeared. She remained mostly faithful
to her husband, though she did have an infatuation with Kurt Angle for a time,
even serving as his manager for a time. When Triple H was sidelined with a
torn quadrucep, she remained with him, then suddenly returned as the owner
of ECW and as Shane's co-partner in the Alliance. She's now hated by the fans
again, not just for her duplicitousness, but for her grating-on-the-nerves
voice. She was put out of business when the Alliance lost to the WWF at Survivor
Series 2001, and then begged her father for forgiveness the following
night, but to no avail. She's been seen a few times since then, and with the
imminent return of her husband, Triple H, she's bound to be back for good
soon.
Titles held: WWF Women's Championship, ECW
Chairwoman
Steve
Blackman - Blackman is
not known for his personality, for he has none. Blackman is not known for
his compassion, for he has none. Blackman is not known for his emotions, for
he has none. He's known for kicking ass and taking names. The fans warmed
up to him after a partnership he had with Al Snow, which Blackman despised.
Blackman became a fan-favorite even moreso when he dominated the Hardcore
Division as its champion for several months. He hasn't been seen in a while
as he rests up back injuries.

Steven
Richards - Richards was
known as "Stevie" for a while, known for stealing gimmicks for his
matches, but he became a hated heel as the leader of the Right to Censor.
Clad in a white shirt, black slacks, and a black tie, Richards decried the
gratuitous T&A and violence exhibited by the WWF, practicing selective
censorship by driving the hos away by recruiting Bull Buchanan and the Goodfather
to his cause, and taking away the tables in the midst of the Dudley Boyz'
matches. Richards did little wrestling himself, preferring to let his cronies
do the work. Starting at Wrestlemania X-Seven, RTC entered into a long
losing streak, during which Richards started to get obsessed with winning
and not "fighting the good fight," leading to his ousting as RTC's
leader. He's been seen once since then, in an impromptu match against Tazz,
where he promptly got squashed. More recently, Richards has returned to exact
his revenge on the Undertaker for "disbanding" the Right to Censor,
using the massive tag-team of Kronik to do so. Since KroniK's disbanding (with
Bryan Clark quitting and Brian Adams being sent to the WWF minor leagues),
Richards wrestles his own matches on Heat. Or at least, he did, until
the Alliance went out of business.

Stone
Cold Steve Austin - If
you don't know who Stone Cold is, you obviously aren't a wrestling fan. Austin,
that bald-headed, beer-swilling, foul-mouthed Texas redneck made himself famous
at King of the Ring 1996, where, after defeating Bible-thumper Jake
"the Snake" Roberts in the finals, Austin proclaimed, "You
come out here, talk about your Psalms, talk about your John 3:16... Austin
3:16 says I just whupped your ass!" A superstar was born. Austin became
the biggest draw in the business, embroiled in a bitter feud with WWF Chairman
Vince McMahon, who would go to any lengths to prevent Austin from capturing
the WWF Championship. Then, in November 1999, at Survivor Series, Austin
was run down by a car and sidelined for almost a year. Upon his return, Austin
tracked down the men responsible for the attack, Rikishi and the mastermind
Triple H. Austin made the single greatest comeback in the business, going
to Wrestlemania X-Seven, where he defeated The Rock to become WWF Champion
again... only Austin turned heel, selling his soul to Vince McMahon in order
to become champion. The stress of trying to hold onto his title amidst real
(and perceived) threats to it has slowly driven Austin crazy, and soon enough
Austin turned on Vince, defecting to the WCW/ECW Alliance to become its leader.
After the Alliance went out of business, however, Austin retained his job,
since he was still WWF Champion, and has become a fan-favorite again as he
went back to what he did best -- feuding with Vince McMahon.

Tajiri
- Tajiri was immensely popular in ECW, where he dominated his opponents with
lightning-fast kicks, submission holds, and blinding green mist. When he first
came to the WWF, he became the houseboy of Commissioner William Regal. Tajiri
gets along fine despite the fact that he can't speak any English (or chooses
not to, at least), and is a fan-favorite. He's recently been locked in a feud
with X-Pac over the Light-Heavyweight and Cruiserweight titles. Torrie Wilson,
a former WCW Diva, is apparently sweet on Tajiri and serves as his manager.

Taka
Michinoku - Taka was
brought to the WWF solely to become its Light-Heavyweight Champion, but a
lack of fan interest in the division downplayed his role. Taka was teamed
up with fellow Japanese wrestler Funaki in the tag team of Kaientai, who are
fan-favorites, if unintimidating. They finally started to get some decent
success when a new gimmick was given to them: Kung Fu dubbing. Taka is the
more talkative of the two, and always proclaims their actions are done because
"we are eeeeeeeeee-vil!"

Tazz
- Tazz was a huge face
in ECW, where he was known for his immensely technical matches, where he threw
his opponents with variations of suplexes no one had ever seen. Coupled with
his finisher, the Tazzmission, Tazz was nigh unstoppable. His WWF debut was
at Royal Rumble 2000, where he had the distinction of ending Kurt Angle's
two month undefeated streak. However, Tazz was locked in lackluster feuds,
and with a downplaying of the use of suplexes (so the WWF could protect its
wrestlers' necks), he started to fade out. He returned from a biceps injury
and started randomly attacking superstars, until he took notice of the derogatory
remarks commentator Jim Ross made about him. Tazz found himself in a feud
with color commentator (and Ross' friend) Jerry "the King" Lawler.
Tazz continued to lurk about, sometimes subbing in Lawler's place for color,
and when Lawler walked out of the WWF, Tazz was given the color position on
both Smackdown! and Sunday Night Heat. Then, with no apparent
reason, Tazz defected to the WCW/ECW Alliance, but soon was reinstalled as
Smackdown!'s color commentator, though he has had some friction with
the Alliance, which led to his turning on Paul Heyman and rejoining the WWF.

Test
- Test, a former Motley Crue bodyguard, came to the WWF and was largely a
face in the crowd for a while, until he got a great angle as the fiance of
Stephanie McMahon, which led to a feud with a disapproving Shane McMahon.
Test was screwed, however, when Triple H and Stephanie revealed they'd been
conspiring (and married too!) against Vince McMahon. Test disappeared for
a while, but returned as part of a tag team called T&A with Albert, under
the managerial services of Trish Stratus. Soon, however, Test fell out of
favor with Trish and was ousted. Test went into the singles division, capturing
the European title from William Regal in record time. He dickered around for
a while, but when the WCW Invasion began, his loyalty to the WWF was questioned,
as he was good friends with Shane. Test was attacked by WWFers, which was
instrumental in his eventual defection to the Alliance. At Survivor Series
2001, Test won the Immunity Battle Royal, which gave him immunity from being
fired for one year, so he has come back to the WWF.

Tommy
Dreamer - Dreamer is
an ECW mainstay, has been for years. He is very pro-ECW (as evidenced by his
rallying cry: "E-C-fucking-W!") and came to the WWF as part of the
WCW/ECW Alliance, but had almost no matches for two months before he was finally
given a match... albeit as part of a twelve-man tag. What he'll do with his
career is anybody's guess, especially now that the Alliance has been put out
of business.

Torrie
Wilson - Torrie Wilson
is a WCW Diva who made her debut by going to Vince McMahon, apparently wanting
to join the WWF when her WCW contract expired. Vince took advantage of her
willingness to "do anything" to get into the WWF by trying to seduce
her, but Torrie had been leading him along and helped his estranged wife Linda
catch him, literally, with his pants down. Since then, she's often been seen
in the company of fellow Divas Stacy Keibler and Ivory. Torrie has few wrestling
skills and even less acting skills. Most recently, she's wormed her way into
the WWF Commissioner's office, becoming the manager of Tajiri, and is apparently
sweet on him. She officially broke with the Alliance to remain with Tajiri.
Triple
H - Triple H started
in the WWF as a Greenwich snob, Hunter Hearst Helmsley. He was a profoundly
decent wrestler, but his gimmick was not much to watch. When the WWF started
its era of "Attitude," Helmsley became Triple H, a wise-cracking
asshole and a founding member of D-Generation X with Shawn Michaels and Chyna.
Triple H split and started doing his own singles career for a while, and gradually
the fans started to take notice. Then, in one interview, Triple H said, "You
people like to think of yourselves as students of the game. Well I am
the fucking Game!" He began to rise as a killer heel, and went through
virtually every main-eventer in the company to become WWF Champion. He conspired
with Rikishi to eliminate Stone Cold. He married Stephanie McMahon to get
himself more power. He even joined forces with a newly-turned heel Stone Cold,
perhaps due to that old axiom: "Keep your friends close, and your enemies
even closer." Triple H is by far one of the best workers in the
business, and he's the second person to ever acquire the title of WWF Grand
Slam Champion by holding all three major singles titles (WWF, Intercontinental,
European) and the tag titles. Unfortunately, in late May 2001, Triple H tore
his quadrucep in a match and was sidelined for several months. His scheduled
return is January 7!

Trish
Stratus - Trish, a former
fitness model, came to the WWF and immediately made a tag team out of Test
and Albert, dubbing them T&A. She is an expert at using her feminine wiles
to get what she wants, as shown by the steamy relationship she had with Vince
McMahon while the Chairman's wife was comatose. But when Vince dumped her,
having grown tired of her, she duped him into thinking she was coming back
to him, but really she was helping Linda McMahon back to health so she could
get her revenge. Since then, Trish has been a manager to Big Show, and most
recently has apparently taken a liking to Jeff Hardy. She recently won the
Women's title.

The
Undertaker - An eleven-year
WWF veteran, Undertaker came to the company with the gimmick resembling his
namesake from Western movies, with hat and long coat. Gradually, it evolved
into more of a leather biker look, though the Dead Man remained attuned to
death and the like, managed by a creepy fat man named Paul Bearer. Then, Bearer
turned away from `Taker, instead summoning `Taker's presumed-dead brother
Kane to the WWF to get his revenge on the man he thought was responsible for
the deaths of their parents. Kane and Taker soon reconciled somewhat and joined
forces, but then Kane apparently killed Taker by locking him in a casket and
setting it on fire. Taker returned as the "Lord of Darkness," the
master of the evil Ministry, stealing souls and generally being creepy. He
was sidelined with injury again, and returned at Judgment Day 2000,
his gimmick having changed into more of a direct representation of his real-life
self, an imposing biker, the American Badass. Taker teamed with Kane again
for a while, but then Kane abruptly turned on him again. Taker's gimmick evolved
again, as he proclaimed himself the sole proprietor of Dead Man Incorporated,
and seeks to make people "famous" -- by beating the living hell
out of them. Reconciling with Kane once more, Taker became embroiled in a
bitter feud with Diamond Dallas Page, who had been stalking his wife, Sara.
Most recently, however, Taker revealed his alliegance to Vince McMahon, turning
heel and starting to demand respect from people. He targeted Rob Van Dam for
this and defeated him to become Hardcore Champion.

Val
Venis - Val's original
gimmick was that of an ex-porn star, who often showed clips of his "movies,"
co-starring the wives or significant others of his opponents. He preceded
his matches with lewd jokes (once, while addressing a female manager, he said,
"This leg is Christmas, and that leg is New Year's, so why don't you
come on down and visit the Big Valbowski between the holidays...") and
finished his matches with a flying top-rope plancha, called the Money
Shot. Soon, however, his gimmick grew stale, and fed up with his inability
to get successful, Val recruited the managerial services of Trish Stratus,
cut his long hair short, dumped the porn star gimmick and traded his black
trunks for white ones. And when Val soon dumped Trish as she cost him a title
belt, he came to the attention of Right to Censor. Val refused to join them,
so they attacked him, abducted him, and brainwashed him. Val became a full-fledged
censor and one of the group's more vocal members. After RTC suffered a long
losing streak, the group broke up, and Val is finishing rehab on an injured
arm, awaiting re-packaging with a new gimmick while wrestling in OVW.

Vince
McMahon - Love him or
hate him or just plain be indifferent to him, one cannot deny Vince McMahon's
success in turning a regional business into a worldwide one. He made himself
a billionaire by guiding the World Wrestling Federation to success, though
he made a lot of enemies along the way, from disgruntled ex-employees to critics
to rivals. He puts his business foremost, and rarely (if ever) bowing to a
wrestler's demands. Case in point: the infamous "Montreal Screwjob."
At Survivor Series 1997, WWF Champion Bret Hart was slated to go to
WCW within the next week, and Vince needed to get the belt off of him. Hart
was willing to job (lose) the belt to anyone... except Shawn Michaels, his
opponent at the PPV. Vince agreed with Hart and said he didn't have to, but
told the referee to call for the bell when Michaels put Hart in a submission
hold. So it happened, in Hart's home country, that Michaels (allegedly unaware
of Vince's orders to the referee) put Hart in his own Sharpshooter submission
hold, and the referee called for the bell, announced Michaels the winner,
handed him the belt, and skedaddled. This act earned him the eternal animosity
of Hart and much of his family, but Vince did it in the interests of his company.
That event gave Vince the springboard for his own on-air character, the evil,
scheming WWF Chairman, Mr. McMahon. Vince was locked in a long feud with anti-authoritarian
Stone Cold Steve Austin, and did anything he could to destroy him, even using
his own daughter as an instrument to lure in Austin. Vince proved time and
again that he was not to be trusted, but in March 2001, when Austin sold him
his soul so as to become WWF Champion, Vince wholeheartedly agreed... only
to be burned again as Austin eventually betrayed him and defected to the WCW/ECW
Alliance. Now that the Alliance is out of business, Vince is feuding with
his new business partner, and co-owner of the WWF, Ric Flair.

William
Regal - Regal came to
the WWF as its goodwill ambassador to the United Kingdom, trying to teach
culture to the "crude" American fans by teaching table manners,
reading Shakespeare and the like. Regal was pro-WWF all the way, schmoozing
and brown-nosing with Vince McMahon, which soon gave him the chance to become
WWF Commissioner... which he did after he defeated Al Snow in a match. Regal
proved to be untrustworthy at first, being quite biased in his booking, but
as the WCW Invasion started up, Regal had to put his biases aside and help
out the WWF, even if it meant having to help out people he didn't like. However,
after Kurt Angle wrested the WWF title out of Alliance member Stone Cold's
hands, Regal turned on the WWF, declaring that Angle was not an exemplary
choice for a champion, enabled Austin to regain the title, and joined the
Alliance as its commissioner. When the Alliance went out of business, Regal
regained his job in the WWF by literally kissing Vince McMahon's ass. Furious
over the humiliation, Regal started taking out his frustrations in the ring,
often with the aid of an illegal set of brass knuckles.

X-Pac
- X-Pac is reviled by the fans. Plain and simple. He used to be popular, when
he was the tag-team partner of Kane, but when he sold his friend out to rejoin
D-Generation X, the fans turned on him. Now, just the very sight of him is
bound to get him a chant of "X-PAC SUCKS!" He's quick as a cat and
proficient with martial arts, but his knack for finding ways to avoid jobbing
(losing) matches makes him a hated wrestler. Most recently, he became the
first WWF wrestler to unify equal belts in the WWF and in WCW by winning both
the WWF Light-Heavyweight title and the WCW Cruiserweight title. This has
just made the fans hate him more.
