The Ferengi Alliance is a society solely based on profit and money. While races like the Federation don't use money any more, the Ferengi main source of money is gold pressed latinum. They are very greedy, and can be very untrustworthy. Their ships aren't extremely powerful, but they can put up a fight. Now, the Ferengi have alliances with many races for trade, including the Federation. The Ferengi are very freightened of the Klingons, as they are not amused by Ferengi games. They have a rules which all Ferengi must obey, or they are not Ferengi. These are called The Rules of Acquisition. There are many phrases (near 300) or rules that are in the book. Each Ferengi learns them at a very young age. Here is an example of what some of them are: "Once you have have their money, never give it back." "A wise man can hear profit in the wind." "Everything is for sale, even friendship." There are a lot more of these as well. The Ferengi homeworld is very rainy, all the time (kind of like the Pacific Northwest of North America). The Ferengi are also known to take advantage of customers, especially new ones. |
