Xercii is little more than a Starport and a Startown It is a supply station for Belters in the are Mining the region under independent contracts of Theris Mining and Manufacturing.  These Belters buy rights to mine certain areas or are contracted to mine a specific area for at most 20% to 30% of a total haul from that area. Theris Mining and Manufacturing controls all traffic and trade into the
Starport and Startown and about 99% of the
supplies that come to Belters out in the remote regions. This puts almost a strangle hold on those who begin their professions here and very few make enough to leave here making this region a poor world in trade classification.

Xercii has boom periods when a motherlode is struck where population will triple or quadruple in size but these periods come and go every 6 to 9 months When the motherlode runs dry.  The planet itself is rather inhospitable requiring
oxygen assistance and protective clothing from
radiation What little water is on the planet is in a frozen contaminated state and must be processed for use making water a commodity almost as
valuable as money. There is an orbital scout base present but only houses enough staff to handle
