Remembrance Gone Wrong
This will be how I remember them.
I know, I should really remember her engineering skills, her temper. I should remember how he informed me, seriously, that he was the "best damned pilot" I could find. I should remember his cocky grin or his betting pool. I should remember how she thought us out of more problems than I can count.
But, while my mind might inform me on occasion that they performed miracles as officers, I won't hold that as my memory of them. No, I won't.
I'll remember this scene: arms entwined, heads close, simple laughter.
