The Proverbial Cat
It was a scene I never expected to see. Holding hands, grinning like that proverbial canary that caught the cat - or the cat that caught the canary or the canape - I could ask him, because he would know, but he's grinning like a not-so-proverbial fool. Her grin matches his.
Not that I've never seen them happy together - it's just that they're so much more together now than they were five minutes ago. I never expected this. I think I thought they would drift away from each other after a few years. I couldn't have imagined that they would be - married?
