Foon Thorton, a medium-scale smuggler, piloted his ship out of the atmosphere of Kessel. He had just picked up a load of spices to be sold to another known smuggler on Tatooine. Foon Thorton's ship, a SoroSub Personal Luxury Yacht 3000, was given to him by an Orthellian Prince less than a year ago as a thank-you gift to Foon. Foon had helped the Prince put together a sky city. Foon was told by the Prince he was always welcome to go to the city. Foon sometimes visits, but not often.
Foon's ship is heavily modified from the state it was in when he recieved it from the Orthellian Prince. Foon slave-rigged the ship using his technology skills, and he also created a control console where the ship responds to voice commands by Foon. The ship won't accept voice commands from anyone else. Foon also has one of the most advanced computer systems in the galaxy built into the ship. He is able to take control of another ship by just using his ship's computer. He finds it convenient to be able to take control of an enemy's ship and shut-down the life-support systems, and then board the ship and dispose of the bodies. Foon Norton's ship collection is amongst the biggest and greatest in the universe. Most beings know to steer clear of his ship, and to be friendly to him.
Reaching to his right, Foon flicked a switch telling the ship to power up for travel in hyperspace. It would be ten seconds until Foon could push the button to make the jump into hyperspace to Tatooine.
Nine...eight...seven...six...five...four...three...two...one...and
Foon pushed the ship into hyperspace. It would be three hours
until Foon reached Tatooine. In that time, he would be able to
check over his spice load and weapons load on board. He was
expecting to make over one-hundred thousand credits this day.
With the money, he would buy himself one of the only ships he
didn't have in his collection: a dreadnaught not unlike one that
was in the Katana Fleet. He would add it to his large collection
of ships that was floating somewhere in space with the best
security net available surrounding them: an automated computer
that takes-over any ship that gets withing fifteen-thousand yards
of the large group of ships. The computer messes up the other
ships' navigational systems, and sends the ships into hyperspace.
It's a good security method thought up by Foon. His collection is
untouchable, except to him, because he has the code pad to get
through the security net. He is the only one. All of the crew
members aboard his collection ships know that they are completely
protected and can't go anywhere.
After the three hours were over, Foon brought his ship down into the dusty atmosphere of Tatooine. He got clearance to land at the Mos Eisely Spaceport, and set his ship down on an outside pad. His ship was the nicest ship there.
As Foon walked off of the boarding ramp of his ship, he engaged the ship's security systems and walked down a dusty street towards the Mos Eisley Cantina. The Cantina is where he is supposed to meet the man he is going to sell his weapons and spice load from. Foon knew it was a bad spot to meet someone, but he didn't really care. Everyone knew who he was, and he didn't think anyone would be bold enough to bother him.
As he stepped into the Cantina, he heard the usual noises. He could also smell the scent of native and not-so-native ales. Foon knew the table that his buyer was sitting at. He had done deals with the buyer before, and knew what he looked like.
The buyer recognized Foon, and signaled for him to come over to the table. The buyer had with him a small crate that held one-hundred and twenty-thousand credits. Once Foon sat down at the table, he told the buyer to come to Foon's ship to get the load. The buyer followed Foon to his ship.
"Here's your load,"Foon said pointing at the load inside of the smuggling bay of Foon's ship. The buyer was satisfied, and he handed Foon his money. Foon greatfully accepted the credits, and gave the buyer his goods. The buyer left, and Foon walked to his personal quarters on board his ship and set his money safely inside of a safe.
"Now I get my dreadnaught,"Foon said aloud as he thought to himself while he sat in the comfortable pilot's seat. In a few minutes he would take-off and pilot his ship over to his "collection" and have the crew of his SoroSub Quasar Fire-Class Bulk Cruiser go to Coruscant and purchase a dreadnaught. The dreadnaught would be the final addittion to his collection. He would spend the rest of his time helping out the New Republic military, and finding things to do for himself. What he didn't know is that he would be fighting in a war against an unknown enemy that could kill him...
