Prologue

"Sir, we must leave now!!!" the young attendent demanded,"They will be here any second!" From an old wooden chair carved into the shape of a wave a grizzled old Ewok sat unmoving.

"I told you, I refuse to run away..."

"But sir, you'll surely be killed!"

"My destiny is already decided by the stars, yours, however is still uncertain-go now!"

The loyal young Ewok hesitated for a second, the rushed out the side door crying.

"Let come to me what must." Whispered the wizened Ewok as he settled back to await his fate.

Prologue II - 77 years earlier

Lighning flashed in the fierce storm, scaring all in the room but the skilled deliverer, he was so enveloped in the task of bringing a new Ewok into the world that he would hardly have noticed if a thief had stolen his robe and belongins off his back. After a grueling ordeal, the infant finally emitted a cry and the room exploded in cheers while the deliverer slumped over exhausted, his job complete.

"What shall we call our precious child?" asked an exhalted father, Nirat.

"I still like naming him after the great spirit we both saw in our dreams the night he was created..." Nirat's young wife Sitcha stated.

"Kri'kin it is then!" Nirat exclaimed smiling. Another flash from outside illuminated the room, and for a second the child's eyes glowed ever so slightly, then were normal again...

Meager Beginnings

Chapter I

As the arrows flew overhead, the lone surviving soldier contemplated the deaths of his comrades. They had been massacred early, and now only he remained. If they were to achieve victory here today it was up to this last Ewok.

"Quietly, quietly, aha! There is that enemy scum," Kri'nkin the Ewok muttered under his breath, "I've got all the rest, now it's just the two of us."

Across the maze of houses and pedestrians, Kri'nkin had spied his friend turned enemy, Brabet. The other lone Ewok was casting glances furtively in all directions, but hadn't hiddden himself well enough, and now he was paying for it Kri'nkin crept closer and closer, using the passers-by for cover until he was in range, the took aim and threw his rock at his foe.

"Yes, I win again!,"the elated Kri'nkin shouteed, jumping in the air.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, you always win!" his best friend Brabet said dejectedly,"I thought I'd had you that time..."

"I still have a few tricks to teach you, but that can wait. It's getting late, and you know how your pop hates us to be out all night. Let's head back to your house and have some of that great scrubmarm your mom makes."

"O.K., but I still get another chance to get you tomorrow." Brabet replied, again cheerful at the thought of another chance to beat his talented friend.

"Right, we just need to find more kids to play with us, none of our other friends think they have a chance anymore so the've been quitting. Oh well, that's a trouble for tomorrow. Let's go eat!"

"He will do fine." said Baarkeret, a jet black ewok with an evil look. "He is an excellent warrior. We shall kidnap him, while he is still young, and turn him against his clan. Then we shall be the rulers of Endor. The Dark Clan shall rise power forever."
