" Sir, alien ships detected in sector alpha-nine-beta," the sensor officer said from the bridge of the ISD Havok, the new ship in charge of taking up the task of hunting down the alien ships.
The ISD Havok commanded an eight ship force, made of two ISDs and six Correlian Gunships. Since the SSD Stormfire and its invasion force left to conquer the alien galaxy, Captian Terresult was left in command.
" Prepare jump to hyperspace. What does the cloaked sensor probes say about their condition?" Terresult asked.
"They have sustained damage, and are attempting repairs. They are travelling at low speeds at the moment."
" Can we make a combat jump, so we come out of hyperspace 7000 kilometers from their position?"
" Yes sir... but it's extremly risky and dangerous."
" We have to risk it, or the aliens will use their faster-than-light drive on us," Terresult said. " Make preparations and inform the fleet."
On the battlebridge of the Enterprise, Picard looked tired and stressed out, but didn't allow it to show in his voice and orders. We lost the saucer section, he thought gravely. Many good lives were lost. Things haven't been this bad since the Borg were here.
" Repair status?" he asked Data.
" Repair is going well. Warp drive is full functional again, and all weapons systems are working. Power is still out on deck fifteen, but we are working on it," Data said.
" I don't think we should stick around for very long. They might have probes and other various sensor devices around us. Prepare to go into warp, and inform the Voyager, Defiant, Yamato, and Challanger. Set course 345 mark 84 and make the-"
Interupting Picard's orders, the ISD Havok, the ISD Broadsword and six gunships jumped out of hyperspace right in front of the Federation ships. Out of control by the stress of a hyperspace combat jump, the ISD Broadsword couln't stop and slammed head on into the USS Yamato. The two ships collided, the Broadsword having its command section knocked of by the force of the impact, and the warp nacelles of the Yamato being ripped off. The two starships exploded at the same time, the Yamato having a warp core breach, and sending an antimatter shockwave in all directions.
" Shields holding," Data said.
" Get us out of here, warp four," Picard yelled over the noise.
As turbolasers from the Havok spoke, the four starships burst into high speeds, and in a flash of light, fell out of the Empire's clutches.
" Damn!" Terresult yelled. " We lost the Broadsword, the gunship Victorious and gunships Dagger and Vindicator are slighly damaged." " Don't worry, we'll get another chance. One down, four to go."
" Orders sir?" the lieutenant at helm on the bridge of the flagship Stormfire asked. They had stopped on the outskirts of Federation space to run repairs for a few hours. After their recent battles with patroling Starfleet vessels, the invasion fleet sustained some damage.
" Well, I guess the Federation knows were here," Yung said. " I think we should spread out the fleet to engage different tactical targets within starfleet space. Set course for Deep Space Seven. After we have taken the base, we will decide then."
" Yes sir. Setting course, and informating the fleet."
" Execute." The warships suddenly jumped into hyperspace, leaving only space debris behind.
" ETA to target?" Yung asked.
" Forty minutes."
" Our first strike will be from assualt gunboats and TIE bombers. Arm them with plasma torpedos and heavy space bombs. Brief them on the mission. I expect the station's shields down in a matter of minutes after we launch bombers. Yes.. and have the shields been configured to block out Federation weapons?"
" Yes," the commander at tactical said. " But, their weapons would still have quite an effect on our shields, no matter how we tune them up."
" Also, reroute all turbolaser power to a single forward ion cannon. Their hull is resistant to ion shock, and I want to caputre their station in one piece."
Mask walked to his assualt gunboat and smiled. " It's payback time," he said to himself.
The fleet jumped out of hyperspace in front of the station, a few hundred thousand kilometers away from it.
This time, the station personel were ready. They opened fire with full phasers and photon torpedos. As the energy and explosive weapons hit their targets, Star Destroyers erupted into bright explosions. All fighters were launched, and the Stormfire flew towards the station at a fast pace.
" Fire ion cannon!!!!" Yung yelled.
" Firing!" A burst of white energy leapt out of the SSD's ion cannon, passed through the shields, and diabled one of the station's main photon launcher. The battle had begun.
