The Worst Moments in Comic Book History
OR
What the Hell Were They Thinking.
This area is dedicated to all the ideas that should NEVER have seen print. Ideas that SHOULD have been thrown out. Things Comicdom WANT to forget. Some of these issues or moments have ruined even long established characters. This area could also be considered a warning of books ABSOLUTELY NOT TO BUY!!! (Like Atari Force or the Howard the Duck Christmas Special).
I havent gone into detail with these moments like I did my Greatest Moments, but I figured, why bother. These moments arent worth the time.
The Return of Norman Osborne (Spider-Man # 75)
If the Spidey-Clone wasn't bad enough, Marvel's attempt to 'fix' things just made them worst. I've never agreed that the Clone should have been brought back, but I never thought the stories were that bad. However, the Clone's death wasn't a major turning point in the Spidey mythos. The death of the Green Goblin, Norman Osborne, was a major event that had ramifications for years and years in the Spidey story. Bringing Norman Osborne back was an unintentional insult to Spidey fans and the character himself.
Captain America in Man-Wolf
For some reason long time Cap writer Mark Gruenwald decided cap should become a werewolf and the story featured a werewolf villian from the moon and had cameos by X-men characters Wolverine, Wolfsbane, and Feral.
Wolverines Past
His past should have remained a mystery. The weapon X story was good, even deserved to be told, but part of the charm of Wolverine was the fact his past was a mystery. Marvel wanted to keep his past a mystery, but allowed everyone a chance to tell a piece of his origin. I'm not saying these were bad stories, a number were written by very good creators, but there's too much material. A mystery should be just that, a mystery.
Youngblood (1st series)
Well, make everyone look like Cable, Wolverine, or Deadpool. Take out every ounce of story and characterzation and add gratuitous violence and blood and you have Youngblood. Nuff said.
Wildcats (1st series)
Heroes Reborn Captain America
Howard the Ducks Christmas
This book is interesting. You can see the exact point that Howard stops being Howard and becomes a 3 foot talking duck who happens to be named Howard.
Guy Gardner getting Shape Shifting Powers
Atari Force
If you know of another horrid moment, E-Mail Me.
