Myers

This is one of the latest character sketches of Rachel "Mayfair" Myers. The look of Myers is based on a girl I used to have a crush on, who was also called Rachel. In fact, there's an awful lot the pair have in common, except that the real Rachel had less hair (most of the time.). The costume Myers is wearing is a pressurised flight suit, zipped down to the waist. The box hanging to her right is the life support control unit, with which she can alter the temperature of her suit as well as other variables. The idea is that she is leaning against the open cockpit of her fighter, as if having just completed a mission (if you know anything about flight suits you will know that the first thing you want to do after landing is get out of it!) I quite like this kind of costume to be covered in belts and buckles, making them as complex as possible, without straying from plausibility too much. I like my stuff to look like it could work, in a weird comic-book not-quite-reality way.
