Return to Zath's Lair

Marc Kudisch again. Why is he blond in this picture? I have no idea. The Lighter Side Of The Man In Black:
Humor, mostly at the expense of the ever-harried, overly-serious, Citizen "too much of an easy target to resist" Chauvelin

There are many differences between the books, the musical, and the various movie versions of The Scarlet Pimpernel, but one of the few constants is the fact that despite (or possibly because of) Chauvelin's dour nature, he is extremely fun to taunt, mock, and generally irritate. Whether you are deliberately mispronouncing his name, making jokes about his fashion sense, or belittling his efforts as a villain, Chauvelin is a practically infinite source of amusement, whether he wants to be or not. The following is my contribution to the wonderful world of ChauChau teasing...

Chauvelin Singing As You've Never Heard Him Sing Before:
Just to annoy Chauvelin, I had the stage flooded with helium in time to ruin all of his solos, and these are the results. Actually, all I did was change the frequency of some clips from the "Scarlet Pimpernel: Encore" and the concept cd, but that doesn't sound nearly as funny. All of the sounds are in .wav format.

"Madame Chipmunk" (French Mob singing "Madame Guillotine" Technically, Chauvelin doesn't have anything to do with this version of the song, but in the later versions of the show he sings it, and it's just too funny not to include.)
Part 1 (196k)
Part 2 (175k)
Part 3 (212k)
Part 4 (230k)
"Chipmunk In The Dive" (Rex Smith singing "Falcon In The Dive")
Part 1 (137k)
Part 2 (231k) - The bass stuff in the background sounds pretty cool in this part.
Part 3 (233k)
Part 4 (90k) - It's Manic!Chauvelin.
Part 5 (244k)
"Chipmunk" (Dave Clemmons singing "Marguerite")
Part 1 (174k)
Part 2 (168k)
Part 3 (170k)
Part 4 (109k)
Part 5 (158k)
Part 6 (133k)
"Where's The Chipmunk" (Rex Smith singing "Where's The Girl")
Part 1 (292k)
Part 2 (183k)
Part 3 (262k) - I don't know why, but this part sounds especially evil.
Part 4 (195k) - Gotta love that chipmunk vibrato at the end ; )
"Our Separate Chipmunks" (Dave Clemmons and Linda Eder singing "Our Separate Ways" )
Part 1 (196k)
Part 2 (189k)
Part 3 (192k)
Part 4 (93k)
Part 5 (188k)
Part 6 (155k)
"The Chipmunk" (Dave Clemmons and Linda Eder singing the concept version of "The Riddle" I left out a lot of the chunks with Marguerite singing, and this version of the song doesn't have Percy in it.)
Part 1 (153k)
Part 2 (77k)
Part 3 (80k)
"The Chipmunk" (Terrence Mann singing the first part of the SP1 version of "The Riddle")
Part 1 (77k)
"Where's The Chipmunk" (reprise) (Terrence Mann singing the reprise of "Where's The Girl")
Part 1 (165k)
Part 2 (135k)

Fun With Captions:
Okay, I'll be the first to admit that these are pretty stupid, but I had fun making them. I have nothing against any of the actors in the pictures. I just like teasing the characters. : )

(55k) SP2 Percy, Marguerite, and Chauvelin. Oh, the problems with posed portraits...

(69k) SP3 Chauvelin and Marguerite. Apparently the Blakeney rose garden is infested.

(27k) SP3 Percy and Chauvelin. Percy would rather die than give Shovelin the satisfaction.

(68k) Uncredited illustration from The Elusive Pimpernel. Apparently Blakeney just couldn't take it anymore...

(36k) SP4 Chauvelin. We all know that there's only one thing that would make Chauvelin *really* smile. (this one has more editing than just the usual added words, but I don't want to go to the trouble of making a section for more heavily altered photos until I have more than one)

(30k) SP3 Chauvelin and Percy. We all know oral hygiene is important, but couldn't they have taken care of this before going on stage?

(54k) SP3 Chauvelin and Percy. This one is even more pointless than usual, but the thought of Chauvelin and Percy stuck in Los Angeles traffic together amused me when I made it so I figured I'd share it with the world.

(42k) 1934 Percy and Chauvelin. Poor Chauvelin, never up-to-date on current fashion... (This one has a lot more editing than just added text, but it's a different type of editing from the one above)

(22k) SP4 Marguerite and Chauvelin. There seems to be an extra Rose in the garden tonight. This one is probably the stupidest one yet.

(32k) SP1 Chauvelin and Marguerite. This is either proof that I'm evil or proof of... something else. You be the judge.

(27k) Heh heh heh... If you're a SP fan, just try and tell me that you weren't thinking the exact same thing when you saw the poster for Moulin Rouge for the first time....
