The 1:6 version of Bob Hope is traveling the world as he is hosted by GI Joe collectors around the globe. This page details Bob's stay with ScottE (aka HoloSuite) for an October 1999 week in Vermont and Points Above.
It's time for Bob to do what he does best, entertain the troops. Bob climbs onto the temporary stage in the cargo bay, and addresses the assembled crew members and visitors.
BOB: I'm really glad to be here with you today. There's a lot more room here than in the transport I came up on. I almost didn't make the trip. My doctor told me I couldn't go unless I lost 20 pounds. I told him I'd definitely be 20 pounds lighter by the time I got on the station. I hope you don't mind. I asked them to adjust the gravity so I'd feel 30 years younger.
BOB: Speaking of that transport, I didn't realize NASA was cutting costs so much. I really didn't mind paying for the soda, but my arms sure got tired holding the airlock doors shut. They better order new latches before my return flight.
BOB: I've got a special guest here today. It's Senator Joined Again. He's orbited the Earth in a Mercury capsule and a space shuttle. What with that and all the air miles flown on congressional junkets, this guy has been around the world courtesy of your tax dollars even more than I have.
AGAIN: It's a pleasure to welcome you to orbit, Bob. The only thing I can't figure out is how you can be older than me, but still look so young.
BOB: It's an old Hollywood trick, Senator. I've got boot black in my hair, and a girdle on under my suit. It's a trick I learned from my Road Trips with Bing.
