Slave one:
Specie: Badger
Name: Tansnout the Wanderer
Age: 15 turns
Where captured: Northeast shore
Captured by: Midfaeng
Notes: Tansnout is a fierce warrior, but, like most badgers,
nothin' under those stripes to speak of
How beast was captured: Winter was closing in on me as I roamed the far coasts, usually nothin'
much up there, but anybeast you would catch'd be a tough 'un, good
slave material. Night had fallen, I was looking for shelter from the
cold and wind, when I spotted a fire's light not far away. Downwind, I
crept up until I could see the creature sitting before the fire; he was
a huge badger, not old, but formidable enough. Silent, I sneaked
towards him until I was barely beyond the firelight. He didn't even
see me until I was practically standing beside him. Stupid fool. He
hailed me and bid me sit and rest by his fire. I did so, but I noticed
he carried a heavy club with him, it was restinf by his side, within
easy reach. I sat down, pretending to be an innocent, honest
traveller. He didn't seem to really trust me at first, but I asked his
name and he gave it, and he calmed down when I started telling him
stories about my "life" as a wandering healer, what an idiot! It
wasn't long before he wen!
t to sleep, his club forgotten. I let him slumber for a while, and get
good and deep asleep. Then I just picked up his own club and knocked
him out cold. Took a bit of a blow, what with that thick skull and
all. Well, I tied him up so he could only move on all fours, woke him
up out of that beauty sleep, and drove him back here. No problem.
Tansnout the Wanderer, hah! That one's done all the wandering he's
gonna do, ever.
Slave two:
Specie: Badger
Name: Surge
Age: young beast
Where captured: South of Salamandastron
Captured by: Kyieslee
Notes: Has the bloodwrath more often than others
How slave was captured: It took a score of vermin, we managed to corner him during a battle
against a cliff. The long patrol hares and his father tried to get him
back but we managed to fend them off. Several of the beasts got a net
on him and we managed to drag him down the beach while the others
fought. He put up a fight and he even ripped out some of my tail
feathers of all things, we unfortunately ended up having to club him,
on the bright side none of his bones where broken so he's still fine
for work. We then loaded him into a horse drawn cart with the other
slaves and took off, easily escaping the hares. He'd probably be good
for lifting heavy loads with his strength
Slave three:
Specie: Bat
Name: Silvereye
Age: seven seasons
Where captured:In the northern mountains
Captured by: Kyieslee
Notes on slave: Rather clever, keep a close eye on her. Her wing was
permanantly damaged in the skirmish so she cannot escape by the skies
Slaves job: Personal nurse to Agryc
How slave was captured: It had all happened fast, i'd left to do some flying late in the
afternoon and by the time I finally started back towards the base it
was nightfall. I couldn't help but hear a fluttering sound coming from
the woods below, I expected the worst and thought it may be an owl. I
never really noticed the fact that the moonlight was suddenly blotted
out until the last second, I veered off and a black streak shot by, it
looked to be some sort of bat. After a brief look I noticed a bat
colony of sorts below me in the brush, guess the bat was trying to
protect it's home. Not only that a swarm of bats where flooding out,
straight at me. I had weight to my advantage but the bats could see
better at night, had claws, teeth and more speed than me, soon they
would also have sheer numbers against me. The bat turned a sharp turn
and shot back at me, I barely managed to get out of the way and the bat
slashed my left wing. The other bats where soon apon us, they clawed
and blinded me. I layed a!
kick to one bats head, this caused both of us to fall, I latched onto
another bats hind leg and pulled it down with me, out of the swarm and
down into the canopy of the trees, the bat spread it wings and managed
to slow the fall. The next day I awoke, the bat was laying next to me.
It's one wing was torn making flying impossible, despite this when the
bat awoke it attacked me still. On the ground it didn't have a chance,
I just rammed it and ordered it to come with me. After a little while
more of trying to claw my eyes out with no success the bat gave in and
allowed itself to be led back to the base on foot. During the walk I
interogated the creature and found out it was a female by the name of
silvereye, when we arrived Silvereye was then given to the leaders as aservant.
Slave four:
Specie: Rabbit
Name: Footstamper
Age: 11 summers
Where captured: Foot of Salamandastron
Captured by: Deathdagger
Notes on slave: Extremely strong legs.
How slave was captured: It was night. I walked silently around the foot of a great mountain.
I halted, seeing a sleepy rabbit standing gaurd. I crept up behind
him, and gave him a sharp rap on the head with the hilt of my dagger.
To my suprise, his legs spasmed and he flew into the air. When he hit
the ground, he didn't move. To my relief, he was alive. Strong legs
like that, he would make a fine slave.
Slave five:
Specie: Mouse
Name: Sunflower
Age: 6 summers
Where captured: Outside Redwall
Captured by: Deathdagger
Notes on slave: none
How slave was captured: During a stroll in the forest, I noticed sounds that sounded like a
child. Creeping slowly toward the noise, I saw a little mouse playing
with some dolls. Creeping up behind her was easy, she was making a
barrel full of noise. When I grabbed her end hoisted her up, she began
to scream. Out of the forest jumped another, older mouse, waving a
sword. With flick of my wrist I threw a poisoned dagger. He was dead
before he hit the ground. Using the little mouse's doll, I cleaned my
dagger. I ripped some cloth from the dead body and used it to gag the
little mouse. I carried her while she kicked and screamed back to the
tavern. I also blindfolded her so she had no idea were she was. I am
Deathdagger.
Slave six:
Specie: fieldmouse
Name: Sunflower
Age: 5-7 seasons
Where captured: Near the Abbey gates
Captured by: Slashback
Notes on slave: not strong, very obedient, female
How slave was captured: I was calmly walking down the path, when I suddenly spotted a young
fieldmouse skipping and playing around in a wild patch of vegetables
and fruits. I decided this was a perfect slave, she did not have any
warrior spirit that raged within her, so there were few chances of any
escape. She was very obedient, as I soon learned, and she told me that
her friend was lurking about somewhere. I wished to find her friend
also, but I do not know of her name. As much as I wished, I could not,
because if I left the mouse unattened, she could probably escape. I
resulted in immediatly bringing the young female fieldmouse to the
Slave Compound, and searching for the mouse's friend some other time.
I figured that she was very high in socail status, being that she
dressed in nice garments and was probably traveling to the Abbey. She
must have wandered away while her father and mother went to forage for
food and water. I suppose that they believed that their daughter would
be responsibl!
e enough, but she only wandered away with a fluttering butterfly. At
least, that's what I could squeeze out of her. I could not get the
reason WHY they were traveling to the Abbey. Or perhaps this little
mouse is just a liar. (note: Despite their obvious similarities, I swear that slaves 5 and 6 both came in seperately, and in fact, about five minutes apart from one another. Talk about coincidences....)
Slave seven:
Specie: otter
Name: Greenbeck
Age: 15 seasons
Where captured: Near Salamandastron
Captured by: Wrath
Notes on slave: Strong willed, fought the whole way back. Found carrying a javelin and a sling
How slave was captured: I was headed south to go on patrol, when our group was ambushed by some
otters. A few others were caught, but my comrades killed them. The bold
fools had jested their way to the Dark Forest. I, however, cuffed this
wretch enough to keep him quiet, but glaring. The otters who were not
captured were either killed in battle or fled. I had Greenbeck chained
and gagged, with a special sort of binding that I invented. Quite
painful if one misbehaves. We marched the young otter back here, though
he tryed to escape many times. None have ever escaped me, however. I
imagine that after several seasons of hard labor that the little
wretch'll learn some respect. Throw 'im in, boys!!
Slave eight:
Specie: shrike
Name: Glokkpod
Age: 9 seasons
Where captured: Mossflower
Captured by: Tsarvinere
Notes on slave: probaby should be used as snakefish was!
How slave was captured: I was going down to the river bank to get a drink when I heard some
shrieking calls. As I peered through the willows, I saw a butcher bird
dancing around a dead squirrel. Knowing what value it had as a slave I
looked for something to throw. Then it saw me! It immediatly attacked
and without knowing it I swung up with my paw and clipped it nicely
under the chin. It fell, poleaxed, before it could recover I grabbed it
it around the throat and amisdst it's struggles, held it there. In a
while it went into a faint and I released it. It fell to the ground,
glaring weakly at me, his better, then he fell back into a faint.
Throwing him over my back, I hurried back to Talenrawn before he could
recover. He was tied up, wings clipped, (not completely, just the tips
so he couldn't fly very much)
and thrown into the slave pit. I feel sorry for the one who has to go
in there. Hahahaha!
Slave nine:
Specie: squirrel
Name: Sam
Age: 11 seasons
Where captured: Mossflower
Captured by: Tsarvinere
Notes on slave: Strong climber
How slave was captured: I was walkin' through the forest, lookin' for some goodbeast to
capture, when I hear a twang and see an arrow buried in the soil next
to me. Instinctively I lept for cover as another arrow buried itself
in the place where I was just standing. I looked to see if I could find
my attacker and I saw a young squirrel with a bow and arrow up in a
treetop. Breaking cover I dashed out, picked up a rock, and hurled it
at the squirrel. The stone struck his footpaw and with a yelp and a
squeal of dismay he plunged out of the tree towards the earth. Upon
impact he was knocked unconcious. I gathered him up and headed off to
talenrawn in high spirits thinking of the new slave's price.
Slave ten:
Specie: hare
Name: Hyallo
Age: 15-16 seasons
Where captured: Near River Moss
Captured by: Poisonclaw
Notes on slave: Tall and Muscular. Very strong.
How slave was captured: I was headed to the River Moss, keepin' me eyes out fer slaves, and I
sees meself a young liddle 'are, this un 'ere, fishin' wid a mouse and
a squirrel. So I goes up ter them and gently brush their eartips with
me gloves, knocking them senseless, as I used a sleeping potion on 'em.
Somehow, the squirrel got away, but I brought the mouse and this un
here back to Talenrawn as slaves.
Slave eleven:
Specie: mouse
Name: Yural
Age: 15-16 seasons
Where captured: Near River Moss
Captured by: Poisonclaw
Notes on slave: A quiet burning eyed young un. Very strong, although compact.
How slave was captured: See slave ten
Slave twelve:
Specie: mole
Name: Urth Digger
Age: 8 seasons
Where captured: Mossflower
Captured by: Skye
Notes on slave: Quite stupid, but will do almost anything
How slave was captured: Walking along a path, I saw a fat mole doodling around humming to
himself as he picked flowers. He remarked to himself that the flowers
were being very difficult to find, even though I could see myself that
they were right under his snout. I tiptoed around a few trees, and put
on a big, fake smile and walked toward him. I told him that I was the
flower fairy, and I could help him catch the flowers if he followed me
to get a fairy costume and some fairy dust. As soon as we got to my
camp, I told him that he would have to tie special knots around himself
to keep the fairy dust on him. He beleived me of course. So I whacked
him over the head with a sling stone and carried him here.
Slave thirteen:
Specie: mole
Name: Dirtburr
Age: 10-15 seasons
Where captured: in a quarry
Captured by: Slashback
Notes on slave: a fairly strong mole, good at hauling things
How slave was captured: I was walking around, when I spotted a head popping out of the dirt.
it was a mole! good for the slave compound. he was sturdy and strong,
but only good and towing and hauling things. it was curious, one mole
digging in a quarry. but, i sneaked up on the old mole and startled
him with me scimitar. i quickly binded up his paws with some twine
that i saw and picked up and then walked him back to the Talenrawn
camp. he was strong, so he struggled to get loose. it was a good
thing that i learned how to tie good knots when i was a corsair,
otherwise, the big mole would have gotten loose. he struggled a lot,
and when i got into camp, several hordesbeasts had to jump on him in
order to knock him flat. i finally got to the prison and untied the
unconsious mole. i threw him into his cell and went back to continuemy walk.
Slave fourteen:
Specie: vole
Name: Snowflower
Age: 7 seasons
Where captured: River Moss
Captured by: Tsarvinere
Notes on slave: strong willed, but works hard
How slave was captured: I was heading to the river moss to have a drink, when I started going
through the bulrushes I stopped. There drinking at the river just
waiting to be caught was a little vole. When she heard the rushes
rustle, she walked up saying, "Is anybody there?" As she neared me I
suddenly stood up saying "There's someone here all right" As I grabbed
her, I heard her scream, "Reguba! Reguba!" Then she turned to me and
said, "You're a dead cat!" Almost immediatly a huge male squirrel
appeared. Realizing that his bow was useless while I had the vole, he
laid it down and sprang at me. I easily dodged, but I also stuck out my
footpaw so that my back claws raked into his side. Trying to staunch
the blood with his paws, he rushed clumsily at me again. I did not
dodge, and as he came closer I flung the small dagger I had found when
the vole tried to slash at me with it. The squirrel was slain instantly
such was the velocity of the hurled blade. As I covered my ears from
the vole's incessant screaming, I headed back to sell my slave.
Slave fifteen:
Specie: Squirrel
Name: NutCracker
Age: 5 seasons
Where captured: Mossflower
Captured by: Waterlily
Notes on slave: A small gray haired young slave with a small voice.
How slave was captured: I was tiptoeing along in the forest when I heard the small
sounds of to squirrels playing togeather. I checked my senses
to see if any good creature was near by. There wasn't. The
children were alone. I reached out from behind the tree and
grabbed the older creature. I kicked the other one so it
was unconciess and ran. Because the creatures that found the
other child were slow in chasing me. I easly out distanced
them and brought the child back. With a little training
and a little fear it will make a fine slave.
Slave sixteen:
Specie: Stoat
Name: Slickfur
Age: 15 seasons
Where captured: Mossflower
Captured by: Silent Blade
Notes on slave: Strong, not too bright, A bit clumsy
How slave was captured: Long before I came here I was in a gang with him. We got in a fight and
he took the rest of them (we numbered two score total) and turned them
against me. Like I said, he ain't too bright. After I escaped his so
called "horde" left him. I stumbled across him drunk in a pit. I tied
his paws and dragged him back to camp. I enjoyed having him dragging
behind me yelping with pain...
Slave sixteen:
Specie: Otter
Name: Waterbeck
Age: about 10-15 seasons, very aged
Where captured: A Streambank
Captured by: Scarreye Warfang
Notes on slave: none
How slave was captured: I was trying out some spying skills near a river, hiding in shadows and
in the dark. My Marlfox cape worked perfectly. I rested myself in a
low tree when I heard a splash of water. I looked at the river and saw
a very old otter collecting water perhaps for his home or den that was
in the forest somewhere. I then thought to meslef,"I could catch this
otter and his family, where ever they are." So, using my skill of
blending in with the darkness, I sneaked up on the old otter. He
didn't have too good of an eyesight, so I probably didn't even have to.
But anyways, I caught the little blighter and struggled for a few
seconds. He may have been old, but all otters are strong. I then
dragged him over back to Talenrawn, where as how he was roughly
dragged, he was knocked unconsuious. I snickered at the old otter and
went back to the stream in search of the otter's family or relatives.
Perhaps they would give up their lives for the life of Waterbeck, but
not like we was going ter let them go!
Slave seventeen:
Specie: Mouse
Name: Kile
Age: about 13 seasons
Where captured: Mossflower
Captured by: Lady Darktail
Notes on slave: Took alot o' beating to break him, but now he doesn't have
enough spirit to do anything 'cept work
How slave was captured: I was camped on the northern fringe of mossflower, when I heard talking
on the nearby path. I drew my sword and silently approached the path.
On it was a band of traveling performers, arguing about which road they
should take. They were all field mice, about 6 of them. It looked like
they were two families for there was 2 middle aged females, 2 middle
aged males, and 2 young mice, a girl and a boy. The adult males carried
dirks. I followed them for two days. Finally on the second night they
let their guard down and didn't post a sentry. I snuck into their camp
and took some food. Then I snatched the two kids, gagging them as fast
as I could. The girl managed to bite through her gag about 300 yards
from the camp, and screamed her lungs out. I could hear the adults
coming. I swore vividly then tied up the boy to a tree and brought my
sword to the girls throat. When the rest of the mice appeared, I
threatened to slit her throat. They backed away, the trusting fools
that they were!
and I stepped into the shadows. I ran for about 400 yards, covering my
tracks then slit the girls throat so she couldn't yell out again. I
took the boy and returned to camp.
Slave eighteen:
Specie: Shrew
Name: Skaka
Age: 6 seasons
Where captured: Near the River Moss
Captured by: Redwake
Notes on slave: Clever but very rebelious
How slave was captured: As I patroled the River Moss looking for creatures to plunder
and enslave. I came to a small shrew trail and thought that
it would be a good place to wait for a shrew or something
else.Only after about an hour two shrews came by. I
positioned myself between the shrews and their only escape
route. Then I sprang right in front of them. One shrew
screamed and fled back the way it had came. The second
shrew being much bolder attacked me. I disarmed him with a
single blow. The shrew staggered once and toppled over.
I slung him over my shoulder and headed back to Talenrawn.
Slave nineteen:
Specie: Rat
Name: Ratter
Age: Middle Aged
Where captured: In Talenrawn
Captured by: Slashback
Notes on slave: he's a traitor..i wouldn't trust him with a crust of breadand a killing knife
How slave was captured: I was listening to all of the talk in Talenrawn. I heard that there
was a new member...his name was Ratter. Odd...i thought, if he's
evil...why doesn't his name sound evil? I decided to check him out,
see if he was a true vermin or just a goodbeast in a good desguise. I
quietly pawed through the tents of the camp and decided to quickly find
the little whelp of a rat and turn him in...that is if he was a
traitor. He was so calm when I found him...mumbling quiet words under
his clean breath. He said things that sounded to vermin to me that i
decided that he really was a vermin. I walked out, telling him that he
should really change his name, being that at first everyone was
suspsious of him. He memrely nodded and closed his eyes and went back
mumbling. I glanced back, still ever suspisous of him. The next day,
I saw him telling some vermin about the forces of good and evil...evil
being the worst, so it must be destroyed. I glanced at him and he
caught my sight. He walked over to me...telling me poem after poem of how evil will soon end
and peace will overrule all. I let all the words flow into one ear and
out another. I then quickly cuffed him with me scimitar after he
finished lecturing about how good is much better than evil. He pulled
out a long sword and fought me. His little group of
vermin-who-turned-into-goodbeasts cheered Ratter on...I fought with all
my skill. He might have been a traitor, but he was a very strong
traitor. Finally, I overruled him and brung him to the Slave Compound.
Slave twenty:
Specie: Sparra
Name: Targetbeak
Age: very young... age unkown
Where captured: Near the River Moss
Captured by: Slashback
Notes on slave: fierce warrior, but is very hard to understand.
How slave was captured: I was looking for some fresh water ter drink and I came upon a small
stream. I merely grinned and stooped near the water on the bank. I
was fillin' a wooden cup of water when a fierce little sparrow flew up
to me and was pestering me. i winced as the sparrow clipped off a
small part of me left ear and immediatly knocked the little sparrow
flat with the flat of me scimitar. several other sparrows came from
the trees and i knocked more out and killed several...maybe they were
good enough ter be eaten. I grinned at the first sparrow, Targetbeak
and tied him and several others with a strong piece of twine. into the
slave compound yer go!
