The Northwest Mossflower Patrol

The Northwest Mossflower Patrol

Here is the page that records all the patrols taken to the River Moss. I would suggest reading this if you are considering taking this patrol.

NW Mossflower Patrol One
By: Redwake
Gold Collected: 304 gold coins, 3 gold bars
Number of Beast Seen: 46 beasts
Other Items: a silver chalice, a large emerald, a gold medalion
Notes: There is a horde of weasels in the area that call themselves the Flichaye. They are extremely dangerous and you should not attempt to fight them. They use a drug to knock you out and then rob and slay you. Use extreme caution while in the area.
Patrol Event: I sat on a rock just 10 yards from the North Path. I was well hidden behind some tall shrubs. I was having a lunch which I had stolen off a mouse. I was having a good day,I had a total sum of 146 coins so far plus some other useful objects. The wind shifted bring a familar scent to me. Hares! I knew the smell all to well. Knowing that hares had a keen sense for food,I quickly wrapped the leftovers up and covered it with leaves. the hares were in sight now and not only were they hares, they were of the Long Patrol and they carried a box. They were young and not of high rank but were as fast as any hare. I was running full ahead to keep pace with them. After minutes they stopped. Thank the Fates. I was tired but I saw my chance.I walked ahead over the nearest hill where I was out of sight. I then took out a rope and tied it to a tree. then I hid the rope under some leaves. I hid in the shrubs on the other side of the path holding the other end of the rope. After minutes the hares came pounding down the hill at breakneck speed straight into my trap. They were only 4 feet away when I pulled the rope. To late for the hares to stop, they hit the rope and spun head over tail down the hill. I rushed down the hill and saw one hare that had been stopped by a tree stump.I looked around but could not see his companion, he could have rolled the whole way down the hill (it was a big hill). My mind was not on the fate of the hare but the box they were carrying. I found the box only yards from the first hare. It was broken open and inside it was a large emerald, it was probably the largest in all of Mossflower. I checked the status of the hare that had hit the tree. He was alive but hurt bad. I relieved him of a gold medalion he wore around his neck. I left the fate of hare to whoever found him goodbeast or vermin. I then returned to my post waiting for more beasts to plunder.
