The next morning, Ônishi Yûki runs out of his house. Fire Convoy stops by and picks him up. They drive to an indoor carpark. Inside, the floor opens up to reveal a secret ramp that Fire Convoy drives into. Fire Convoy transforms to robot mode and tells Yûki that this is the Cybertrons' secret base. A small UFO-like object hovers into the main room and activates Ai. Ai is estatic that Fire Convoy has brought a guest. Fire Convoy introduces Yûki to Ai. Ai introduces herself, "I am the battle computer, Ai, but you can call me Ai-chan!" Yûki tries to shake hands with her but falls through her. Ai apologises and explains that she's a virtual image (obviously not as tangible as the doctor on Star Trek Voyager!). They look at the monitors which show images of wrecked vehicles. Fire Convoy explains that there have been over a hundred incidences like this during the past week. They suspect the Destrongers are behind this but Fire Convoy says that they lack any evidence, as every time they arrive at a scene, there's no sign of any Destrongers. Ai explains that the three brothers are patrolling the streets around the clock.
We now see Speedbreaker racing down a highway. He approaches a red car and tries to crack onto it. Junko is driving the sports car and wonders what's wrong with the blue Dodge Viper that's tailing her. Speedbreaker pulls up alongside her car and continues hitting onto her. Junko is surprised to see the car talking and speeds up. Speedbreaker pursues but is soon foiled his elder brother, Mach Alert. Mach Alert reminds him of their duty. Speedbreaker asks Mach Alert to let him loosen up and have some fun when things are quiet. They both soon notice their eldest brother, Wild Ride, driving up flights of stairs in Tokyo Tower! Mach Alert is disappointed at seeing his own elder brother setting such a poor example.
The view switches to Tokyo Bay Bridge. The camera pans from the sky to under the sea. We see the Destronger's undersea base. Inside, Gigatron is talking to himself about how fair and wide they have traversed through the galaxy in search of energy. Gusshar, Gildor and Gaskunk come in carrying a big sack. They tell him that they have gathered some energy and empty a whole pile of aluminium cans. Gigatron reminds them that he really hates humour and transforms into a very angry Gigadragon and begins screaming at his minions. Gaskunk, Gildor and Gusshar cower in a corner. A voice bellows saying that this is the reason why Gigatron needs someone better to gather energy. The Transmetal 2 shark materialises in front of Gigadragon. Gildor tries to protest, but the shark gives him an "evil" stare which shuts him up. The shark yells, "Gelshark, Henshin!" and transforms into robot mode. Gelshark reports that he has been gathering energy from the highways, but it is still insufficient. Gelshark shows Gigadragon a news report, which explains that there's been a bomb scare with red sports cars. Gelshark explains that the bomb was placed into a red sports car by some evil Earthlings and that if they can harness the energy from the bomb, it would be sufficient for them. Although the humans have yet to discover exactly which car the bomb is in, Gelshark has already located it. Gigadragon orders Gelshark to go retrieve the bomb.
At a shipyard, a red sports car is being unloaded. Underneath its bonnet is the bomb. On the dock, we see Junko looking on. She runs up to her new car and is excited. She hops in and drives off straight away. She drives onto a highway where Gelshark appears right beneath her car. Gelshark realises that he must exercise extreme caution, otherwise the bomb might explode. Suddenly, Speedbreaker appears and begins hitting onto Junko. Junko tries to escape but Speedbreaker pursues, asking her out for a date. Mach Alert appears and stops Speedbreaker once more. Gelshark bursts out of the road and attacks Junko's car. Junko screams and tries to outrun Gelshark. Mach Alert activates his jet boosters and takes off. He lands in between Gelshark and Junko. Mach Alert and Speedbreaker transform, buying Junko time to get away. The Cybertrons attack but Gelshark says that he has no time to fight with them and fires two missiles from his mouth. From the smoke we see Gelshark swimming away (in mid-air) in hot pursuit of Junko. The two Cybertrons tumble out in car modes.
However, Junko has bumped into even more trouble! She is now being pursued by Gaskunk, Gildor and Gusshar. Junko screams and wonders why she's being chased by a toad, skunk and squirrel! The Destrongers pick up her car. Gelshark approaches from the distance and warns the Destrongers to be careful or else the bomb may explode. The other Destrongers want the glory for themselves and Gusshar blocks Gelshark whilst Gaskunk and Gildor get away with Junko and her car. Gelshark plows through Gusshar as if he wasn't even there. Gaskunk is trotting along with the car above his head. Gelshark is swimming right behind him and warns Gaskunk that if he's not careful, the bomb will explode. Gaskunk taunts Gelshark and pitches the car at Gildor, who catches it. Gelshark swims up and bites onto the boot of the car. He shakes the car until Gildor falls off. As Gelshark continues to bite into the car, Junko has tears streaming down her cheeks. Her eyes are firmly shut and she has her hands clasped in prayer. Beneath her, Speedbreaker tilts himself onto his right wheels. His left arms sticks out with his hand poised for a catch. Speedbreaker is yelling, "Princess! Princess!" Gelshark rips the car to shreds and Junko falls. Gelshark has the bomb in his mouth and swims off. Speedbreaker catches Junko but exclaims, "Aaargh! My Princess has been torn to shreds!" and drops Junko! Mach Alert speeds up, transforms and catches Junko.
Gelshark swims through the air, gloating to himself. Suddenly, a cable shoots out and a claw on the end of it grabs the bomb. Gelshark looks back to see the cable reeling into the bonnet of a Mercedes Benz ML320. Two yellow lights on the bomb turn red. Gelshark Terrorises and warns Wild Ride that the shock just then has activated the first phase of the bomb's switch. He tells Wild Ride to hand the bomb over before it explodes. Wild Ride won't believe him. Gaskunk, Gildor and Gusshar say that Gelshark's not known to tell lies, and with that, they bid Wild Ride "Sayonara" and prompty run away!!
Mach Alert tells Wild Ride that if Gelshark is right, the bomb will explode. Speedbreaker tries to think of a place to dispose of the bomb, but they all soon realise that they're in the midst of a human population centre. Wild Ride knows that he needs to go somewhere high above. He sees Tokyo Tower in the distance and begins to use his cable to swing from building to building, Spidey-style! Gelshark pursues, warning Wild Ride that the swinging might produce enough shock to trigger the bomb.
At Cybertron Headquarters, Fire Convoy, Ai and Yuki watch on. Yuki realises that Wild Ride is heading for the Tower. Wild Ride attaches the claw of his cable to the top of the tower, and begins to winch himself up. Gelshark catches up. He is floating just a few metres away from Wild Ride, but won't dare to take the bomb from him by force. Yûki points out that the tower is not a safe place to dispose of the bomb and that the bomb needs to be taken much, much further away from the city. Fire Convoy speaks to himself aloud, "...beyond the skies... That's it, Yûki!" He jumps and does a mid-air somersault as he transforms into a fire engine and rolls out with sirens wailing.
Wild Ride finds himself exhausted and unable to scale the last leg of the climb. Fire Convoy arrives at the base of the tower. He transforms to robot mode and merges with his trailer, becoming Super Fire Convoy!! He tells Wild Ride to throw the bomb into the air. Wild Ride transforms and does so. Gelshark swims up in hot pursuit of the bomb. Super Fire Convoy swings his ladder over his right shoulder. He has the bomb in his sights and yells, "Blizzard Storm, FIRE!!!" and unleashes two streams of very high pressured water. The water pushes the bomb, and Gelshark, who was in the way, into space! In orbit, the water has become ice on his body. He sees the bomb in the distance and takes it in his mouth. At that moment, both the bomb and Gelshark become a big weightless iceberg and the final phase of the bomb's switch is triggered. Unable to move, Gelshark cannot escape.
The bomb explodes.
Super Fire Convoy thanks Yuki for his idea. Yuki cheers and tries to hug Ai, but falls through her.
In the Destronger undersea base, Gelshark sits alone in a dark room.
The other Destrongers, who had to rescue him after the explosion, laugh
at him.
Fire Convoy has a more passive role here, only coming out at the end to save the day. Of course, Gelshark was the star of this episode, but it also shed more light on the other characters too. The other Destrongers are absolute morons who try their best to please Gigatron, but end up failing despite their good intentions. And then along comes Gelshark, who seems to be a "teacher's pet" (or in this case, leader's pet?) and a rivalry forms between him and the other Destrongers.
We also learn that Speedbreaker wasn't chasing after Junko herself, but the red sports cars that she drives!! For some strange reason, he has an attraction for red sports cars. The relationship between the between Speedbreaker and Mach Alert was already shown in the last episode, but is further developed here. However, this episode expands on Mach Alert's personality - as being a strict by-the-book type of robot who views takes his role very seriously, just like Gelshark! He also tries to reign his younger sibling, Speedbreaker. Mach Alert is also disappointed that Wild Ride, doesn't act in concordance to his traditional value.Despite being the eldest brother, Wild Ride enjoys goofing off as much as Speedbreaker. However, he does exhibit more concern about human safety (especially Junko's safety!) than Speedbreaker. In spite of this, Mach Alert shows Wild Ride a great deal of respect, however, this respect seems to be born from obligation, rather than sincerity.
