Stop Smoking With Hypnosis
Patter To Help You Stop Smoking

     Now I want you to take a deep breath.  That's right, all the way up and all the way down now.  And as you breath deeply you feel a feeling of relaxation enter your body.  This feeling of relaxation is in your toes and you feel your toes relax.  You feel every muscle and every nerve in your toes relax completely.

     And you feel this feeling of relaxation move into your feet and you feel your feet relax.  Every muscle and nerve in your feet are relaxed as you feel this feeling of relaxation move through your ankles and into the calves of your legs and the calves of your legs are relaxed.

     Feel this feeling of relaxation move through your knees and into your thighs and you feel every muscle and every nerve in your thighs relax completely.  So very, very relaxed and very, very comfortable.  Now feel this feeling of relaxation in your hips and feel every muscle and every nerve in your hips relax completely.  So very relaxed and very comfortable.

     And feel this feeling of relaxation in your stomach and feel every muscle and every nerve in your stomach relax completely.  Feel all the tension and all the tightness leave your stomach.  So very, very relaxed and very, very comfortable.  All the muscles are relaxed, so very relaxed.  There is no tension, there is no tightness in your stomach.

     Feel your chest relax.  Feel every muscle and every nerve in your chest relax.  With every breath you take and every word I speak your breathing becomes easier and easier.  And you chest relaxes more and more, so very, very relaxed.  Now feel this feeling of relaxation in your shoulders and make your shoulders relax.  Make every muscle and every nerve in your shoulders relax.

     And you feel this feeling of soothing wonderful relaxation move into your upper arms and your upper arms are relaxed completely.  Every muscle and every nerve.  And this feeling of relaxation moves through your elbows and into your forearms and your forearms are relaxed completely.  So very, relaxed and very comfortable.

     And feel this feeling of relaxation move through your wrist and into your hands and fingers and your hands and fingers are so very, very relaxed.  And now you feel this feeling of relaxation in your back.  So very, very relaxed and very comfortable.  And this feeling of relaxation moves up to your neck and you feel your neck relax completely.  So very, very relaxed and very, very comfortable.  Make your neck relax.

     And you feel this feeling of relaxation move into your face and you feel all the muscles and all the nerves in your cheeks, and your chin, and around your mouth relax completely.  So very, very relaxed, and very, very comfortable.  Your forehead is relaxed.  It is so relaxed you can feel all the lines of tension leave your forehead because every muscle and every nerve is relaxed.  Your eyelids are relaxed.  So very, very heavy with relaxation.

     And even your scalp is relaxed.  Your scalp is relaxed and every muscle and nerve from the top of your head to the tips of your toes is relaxed.  You are completely relaxed and at ease.  Breathing easier and easier with every breath you take and going deeper and deeper into relaxation with every word I speak.

     Now I want you to picture in your mind's eye a tunnel.  That's right, picture in your mind's eye a tunnel.  And you're looking at this rather large, dark tunnel.  It is very softly lit - a beautiful soft color that is pleasing to you.  And you see a point of light that you know is the other end of the tunnel.

     The other end of the tunnel is the point of total and absolute relaxation and as I count from 1 to 10 you will walk through this tunnel and walk out the other end to this wonderful new world.

     Now 1, start walking through the tunnel.  The color is so soft and pleasant.  2, as you're walking into the tunnel you see the light at the other end is becoming a little brighter and you know that total relaxation is not that far off.  3, going further into the tunnel.  4, such a pleasant, wonderful experience.  5,  halfway through the tunnel - almost to the other end.  6, moving closer and closer, so very pleasant.  7, you feel so wonderful - feel so wonderful.  8, walking slowly, enjoying the relaxation and the sensation.  9, almost at the end and ready to step out into that new world.  10, all the way down now.  Step out into the world of wonderful relaxation.  So very, very deep asleep.

     Now you are deep and fast asleep and you feel the desire to make a commitment to yourself to stop smoking.  That's right, you're deeply relaxed and you feel this commitment must be made.  You are aware of the cost to your health caused by smoking and you are ready now to stop.  This is the time now to make the commitment.  You want to feel better.  You want to commit yourself to the positive affirmation, "I will not smoke".  Repeat this to yourself as you are relaxed now.  "I will not smoke."  Repeat it again to yourself.  The commitment is made.

     Now when you awaken you will gather all the cigarettes that you have and you will make the commitment now to throw them away, to get them away from your sight, because you know that you will feel better when you stop.

     Ant then you will cut a small card about 3 X 3 inches and write on it, "I will not smoke".  This card will be carried wherever you normally carry cigarettes so when you feel the desire to smoke and reach for a cigarette, the paper will be there.  Read it and reaffirm the commitment.  Now when you awaken you will throw away your cigarettes as you have committed because you know that you will feel so much better.  You will be much healthier.

     You feel the commitment to write on this card that you're going to have, "I will not smoke", and you will carry it wherever you normally carry cigarettes so when you feel the desire to smoke and reach for a cigarette the paper will be there.  Read it and reaffirm the commitment.  And each time you pull the card and read it the desire to smoke will be less and less.

     You are losing the desire to smoke.  You feel the need for being positive in your life.  You feel the desire to smoke slipping away and it will slip away more and more every time that you read the card.  You feel very strong in your desire to quit.  You feel the urge to smoke subsiding.  That's right, it is going away now as your willpower is increasing.  Feel strong now and say again and again to yourself, "I will not smoke".  The paper will be carried wherever you normally carry cigarettes so when you feel the desire to smoke and reach for a cigarette the paper will be there.  Read it then and reaffirm the commitment to stop smoking.

     Now we're going to walk back through the tunnel as I count from 10 to 1.  You will walk back through that tunnel that brought you to this wonderful world that you're now experiencing.  I'm going to count down from 10 to 1 as you walk back through the tunnel.

     Now 10, start walking back through the tunnel while feeling your will power increasing more and more with each step.  9, growing stronger in your desire to quit smoking.  8,  walking through the tunnel.  7, the commitment is made, "I will not smoke".  Repeat this to yourself with each step.  6, you feel so strong in your desire to quit.  5, such a wonderful feeling and on the count of 1 you will be wide awake.  4, coming closer now and beginning to wake up.  3, when you awaken you will feel relaxed, refreshed, alert, and committed to putting an end to smoking.  2, you feel renewed life forces flowing through your body.  You want to wake up.  You're stepping back now into this world.  1, wide awake now, wide awake, feeling wonderful and committed to that statement of, "I will not smoke". Feeling fine, wonderful, and relaxed.
