Meditation Patter

     Make yourself very comfortable and we will begin. Take a deep breath.  That's right, a deep breath. Very deep. All the way up and all the way down.

     Your entire body is beginning to relax completely. A wonderful, sinking, soft feeling is entering your body. You feel every muscle and every nerve relaxing more and more with every breath you take. Now think of your feet and make your feet relax. Make the muscles and nerves in your feet relax as you feel this wonderful feeling of relaxation move through your ankles and into the calves of your legs and the calves of your legs are relaxing.

     Every muscle and nerve in the calves of your legs are relaxed. Concentrate on relaxing every muscle and nerve in the calves of your legs as you feel this soothing feeling move through your knees and into your thighs and feel your thighs relax completely. Feel every muscle and nerve in your thighs relax. Your thighs are very relaxed and very comfortable.

      Now feel your hips relax. Feel every muscle and nerve in your hips relax completely. Your hips are very relaxed and comfortable. Now you feel this warm, soft, soothing feeling enter your stomach and feel every muscle and every nerve in your stomach relax completely. Feel all the tenseness and tightness leave your stomach. All the muscles and nerves in your stomach are relaxed completely. There is no tenseness or tightness in your stomach. All the muscles are relaxed.

     Now feel your chest relax. With every breath that you take, your breathing becomes easier and easier. Every muscle and every nerve in your chest is relaxed. So very relaxed and very comfortable. You have no cares or worries. You are in that wonderful, beautiful, soothing land of relaxation. Feel this feeling of relaxation enter your shoulders and feel your shoulders relax.

     Make every muscle and every nerve in your shoulders relax as you feel this feeling of relaxation enter your arms and feel all the muscles and nerves in your arms relax. Your arms are heavy with relaxation as you feel this feeling move through your wrist and into your hands and fingers.

     Feel the feeling of relaxation move into your back and feel every muscle and nerve in your back relax completely. This feeling of relaxation moves slowly throughout your back and you feel every muscle relax. Complete relaxation in every muscle and nerve in your neck.

     Now feel this feeling of relaxation move into your face. Feel every muscle and every nerve in your cheeks and around your mouth and your chin relax completely. Feel your face relax and feel your forehead relax. Every muscle and every nerve in your face is relaxed.

     The lines of tension are leaving your forehead as you relax completely now. Even your scalp is relaxed and every muscle and every nerve from the top of your head to the tips of your toes are relaxed. You will continue to go deeper and deeper into relaxation with every breath you take.

     Now you feel the peace and love of God cover you.  Light warms your soul. This is a wonderful feeling. A feeling that you will want to experience many times again. You will continue to relax and meditate as you progress in life. You will practice and each time you wish to go into deep meditation you will follow the relaxation patter and go deeper and deeper each time.

     Now picture in your mind's eye a garden of such beauty you have never seen before. You are standing in the middle of this private island of beauty you have created for yourself. Nearby is a golden stairway leading up into the heavens. You know that the stairway has different resting places for you and as you learn to go deeper and deeper asleep you can climb higher and higher to become closer with the entity we call God.

     As I count from one to ten you will climb the golden stairway to the first resting place. One, start walking up the stairway. Two, you are climbing higher and higher above your beautiful garden. Three, you can see more of your beautiful garden than you thought possible. 

     Looking up you realize you are moving into another infinite beauty. Four, moving higher. Five, you are halfway to your goal and going deeper and deeper asleep. Six. Seven. Eight, you can see your goal in sight now. Nine, so close, just one more step. Ten, you are at your resting place and you feel a peace you have never known before.

     Now as you stop and look out into all eternity you feel a presence near you. It gives you a warm, wonderful, trusting, feeling and you know you can ask questions and receive answers. You will have two minutes to talk with this entity now.

(It is common at this time to set a two-minute time for communication with the presence before coming back down the stairway.)

     It is time to walk down the stairway now. I will count from ten to one and you will walk down the stairway and be wide awake on the count of one. Ten, start walking down the stairway. Nine, feeling very comfortable. Eight. Seven. Six, you feel your body returning to normal now. Five, coming down slowly. Four, beginning to awaken. Three, you want to wake up. Two, you can and you will open your eyes. One, wide awake now, very refreshed and very alert. Completely relaxed in every way.
